The only thing I want from GoW Ragnarok:

Don't have Angrboda hold the bowl.

I understand and accept that they had to streamline the story so Boda's likely the only one we'll get in the game, and that's fine.

But -- and I mean absolutely no disrespect with this -- Angrboda's strength is not the same as Sigyn's. Sigyn is the one with the strength to hold the bowl century after century, to be the light in the darkness of the cave. She's the one with the patience to work at the bindings and one day free Loki.

If you're going to take Sigyn out of the story, take ALL of her out. Don't assign her bravery and strength to someone else.

It seems to me as though Sigyn's world was defined by love: love of Her husband, love of Her family as a whole. Given that Loki's other wife is Angurboda, the mighty chieftainess of the Ironwood, are we really to believe that He would choose a doormat as a mate? It makes far more sense to me[...]to wonder at the quiet strength that must have provided a soothing haven to this most quixotic and fiery of Gods. Because She is never seen external to Her home and family does not mean that She is powerless. What it means is that She created inangard, the sacred enclosure of the home, for a God who was otherwise rootless. She rooted Him, balanced Him, accepted Him, and above all loved Him, It was Her choice to do this.

I love that the statue has her as just... staring straight out and level and head-on with whoever is looking at her. So many pictures have Sigyn as cringing away or hunched over in fear or fatigue during the Ordeal in the Cave, and I'm sure she has those moments too, but THIS is how I see her. Tall and proud and looking that fucking snake in the eye.

She could see, objectively, that people were handsome or pretty, but it always left her cold.

And then there was the truth she could admit to no one: The last time Sigyn had forced herself to feel attraction, it had ruined her.

The very thought sent a shudder through her. But then, if she left, it would be like truly saying goodbye to her family. At least if she stayed in their home, she could pretend that maybe one day, they’d be back.
