There are no formal laws about a magical notebook that lets you kill people. However, every government that knows of said item despises the idea of anyone owning such an item.

They have used less than honorable methods to obtain the Notebook before.

Perhaps you do have reason to worry.

How are things going with the case?

Things changed after the police idiotically released details of the case.

Good and bad. New patterns, could mean a copycat killer, or someone playing with us. Seeing what we tell, seeing what we strike as different.

Usually these things mean a copycat killer, but after Kira I've broadened my horizons.

It seems like the killer is trying to play a game with you. I could be wrong, but based on what you’ve said so far, I can’t think of any other reason to remove vases from the crime scenes. If it was one and done, then I might say the culprit was caught off guard while trying to steal the vase and killed the person who found them to get rid of witnesses… But since it’s a pattern, it has to be a game.

…Sorry for rambling. I like puzzles.

A game, or trying to get on that unique list.

Though, you may be right. Games... I don't have any particular connection to the killer; so it's not me they're playing the game with. But certainly game behavior...

Any cases you’re working on at the moment?

Yes, actually. A curious case of disappearing vases. I won't go into details, forbid they're looking for their information in the news. Murderer's like recognition.

Yes, murderer. Your imagination can run wild with what they're placing in the vases when they turn up.

I know the killer, of course. I'm searching for more evidence, and more importantly their motive.

It's so strange, possibly a distraction? Another strange case so they're unique? They all want to be special.

They'll see how ordinary they are once brought to justice.

What kind of music do you like?

Pop/Rock is enjoyable, mostly. Indie/Alternative. Classical. Generally, I do fancy a mix of music. Songs I heard growing up; as most tastes develop.

I don't find myself searching out music myself often, but something I'm familiar with. Wouldn't want it interrupting what I'm working on.

What are your criteria for accepting a case?

Quite simple. Large sum of money, large sum of victims, or a personal interest.

Too tough for anyone else to solve? Sounds interesting.

Impossible or other worldly scenarios? Sounds interesting.

Large sum of money, proving the police are desperate? Quite good for reputation or status. Etcetera.

Do you have a favorite case out of the ones you've worked on?

I won't lie; at least in this case. Working Nikaido's case. I formed a connection with Miss Maki, in which I've never formed such connections with other humans before. It was a positive learning experience overall.

Well, I say positive... Learning to care for others can prove to be fatal.
