One of his favorite times of years. Birthday means he gets to bully people into buying him presents. Which tends to just be Sensei, but y'know, you take what you can get.
It's almost his birthday, too. Sensei usually gets him a present or two, but it's not a very big affair. He usually just uses it as a way to get a new gaming system or two.
Something something black hole aesthetic. He’ll destroy everything from the earth to even the cosmos beyond, consuming everything in his past and embodying it all in the end. Ichirō wants them to return to the stars, but even they are not beyond his never-ending hunger.
Considering he consumes cosmic energy, it's debatable whether or not it's a good idea to actually let him near any of those things. Or if he’ll just...kill them.
Honestly, I think it’s a case by case basis, and at least partially depends on how much he’s absorbed recently.

He can in fact be caught in a poke ball, though it is with Jirachi’s usual catch rate of 3. So while possible, it is not likely to be easy, depending on your approach. The fact that he is as of yet unaware of this fact may assist you, as he’s not going to try to break out when he does not expect it to happen.
Speculating on Tomura’s biology tonight in Pokémon verse, due to the whole Jirachi thing.
I’m currently fixated on Jirachi drawing energy from the Millennium Comet in the anime, and how I would like to expand this to celestial objects as a whole. As far as extraterrestrial pokémon go, objects aside, that would supposedly mean the likes of:
Pokémon wise, that’s (supposedly) being drawn towards and able to take energy from the likes of:
Deoxys
Cleffa/Clefairy/Clefable
Staryu/Starmie
Lunatone/Solrock
Elgyem/Beheeyem
Kyurem
Eternatus
There’s also the thought of what this might mean when it comes to Ultra Space…
I am genuinely considering whether he may be able to "feed" off the energy that Fallers give off. That would be some rare good news for John, if nothing else.
It can be very difficult to get him to eat much, if anything at all. He seems to have a natural repulsion towards human food as a whole, and curiously enough, this doesn’t have a negative effect on his nutrition like it would be expected to. Rather, his usual diet tends to consist of a variety of berries, with the Starf and Apicot ones being staples.
And he can be persuaded to eat what everyone else is, either through combining it with a Micle Berry to imbue it with a sweet taste … or through simply bribing him, so that the taste of ash simply does not bother him as much as it should. Being touched by the fae, he honestly does not taste anything more, and only the addition of a berry can get him to stomach it.
Another source of nutrition (and power) for the young acolyte is that of beings that have been exposed to space in any of its forms. He feels a natural draw towards these energy sources, one that he cannot truly explain. Just as Jirachi draws on energy from the Millennium Comet, he draws on it wherever it can be found. Sustaining himself on the likes of extraterrestrial pokémon, Fallers, and even the Ultra Beasts themselves.
He can easily find those lost remnants, comet shards and other such objects that have fallen from the heavens. Feeling rejuvenated when he has, less tired, less hungry, more … alive, than he ever has before. Even when that energy is gone from it, he still has a tendency to keep it around.
Stars that have lost their luster, and gone out entirely, but still hold a special meaning to him. There’s quite the collection of them going back at the base, and Infernal’s followers are all too happy to revere them … and to revere him, as the blessed one to have found them. They say that he has an ethereal glow to him when he’s come back from such a hunt, though Tomura himself really cannot say whether that’s the truth, or just the hyped up talk of zealots.

His obsessive scratching, for sure. Tomura scratches at his skin to the point of it breaking and bleeding, and even then, he can’t stop. It’s a compulsion that no one’s really tried to put a stop to since he was around 5 years old, and even then, it was believed more to be from allergies than having a psychological component.
It’s a coping mechanism that he’s settled on for stress, and he’s never found any other outlets that are equally as satisfying and readily available.
