Coocoovaya has a new look
In April, with spring being at its peak, I thought it was the best time for a serious 'spring cleaning' and refreshment of the coocoovaya logo, shop banner, cards and everything! The lady behind the redesigning is the super sweet, super talented and extremely patient (inside joke) Kotsikou Eleanna, the owner, designer, maker of Zdrop and Sockool!! I know you'll agree that she has done an amazing job :)
Why So Sad?
This sad Rhino will bring anything but sadness in your home!
Painted with acrylics on canvas, it measures 25x30cm (9.84 x 11.81 inches) and is mounted on a solid wood floating frame, 1 cm wide.
Bold, vibrant colors created by applying many layers of paint using a variety of everyday tools, from credit cards and bubble wrap to doily stencils and spray paints.
You can find the original painting on the Coocoovaya shop.
Let this stubborn but -oh so- cute donkey carry your things around!
Terrarium
Feeling trapped between the Yes’s and the No’s this past week in #Greece...
A turtle, a deer, an owl, a squirrel and an ostrich trying to escape from their Terrarium prison with a little outside help.
You can find the terrarium print here.
PlaymoPop
Just couldn’t resist an elegantly disheveled version of our favorite Playmobil figure.
You can get prints of the PlaymoPop dude in the Etsy shop.
Colors and Feathers
It is often hard to part from my original paintings but at the same time it feels so good to know that someone has chosen them to decorate their home and to look at them every single day. It is so rewarding to know that my paintings will - hopefully - bring a smile to their face.
This Peacock painting measures 40x50 cm (15.75 x 19.68 inches) and is mounted on a solid wood floating frame, 1 cm wide. You can check it out here.
Animal Gang
Christening invitation and box
A super cute little baby girl was baptised last weekend and the proud parents had asked me to design the invitation.
The design was hand painted with watercolors and the text was digitally added afterwards. We put the invite in a lovely pink envelope and decorated it with a nice twine and paper leaves.
The flower cookies were made by Eirini Mikeli, who makes delicious sweets and party food for any occasion.
...and this is the box for the christening clothes. A white oval cardboard box which I hand painted with acrylics and decorated with a fuchsia linen ribbon.
If you'd like a custom hand painted box or invitation design for your little baby's christening, party or any occasion, just drop me a line at coocoovaya(at)gmail(dot)com.

Easter Candles (Lampades) by Coocoovaya
I am used to painting large canvases but making these tiny ones to decorate Easter candles was a thrill!
White candles decorated with a hand painted canvas measuring 7 x 7 cm, and wrapped with fabrics, twine an ribbons.
The canvas has a hanging hoop on the back, so you can easily hang it afterwords to decorate any room.
You can find these on the Etsy Shop!
Coocoovaya Interview on EGST blog
I am extremely happy and honored that my shop has been featured on the Etsy Greek Street Team blog!
I have been interviewed by Tasos, owner of TACEHandmade and very talented jewelry maker. You can read the full post here!
New Coocoovaya Button Pins and Tote Bags
So, I thought I'd experiment a little and try my designs on new products.
I am happy to present you the Coocoovaya button pins/badges and tote bags drumroll):
The pins are generously sized, measuring 4.2 cm (1.65 in), and are perfect for decorating your jacket or schoolbag. They can also be used as a party favor filler.
The tote bags are made of 100% natural cotton and measure 38x42 cm (14.96x16.53 in) with long handles to carry over shoulder.
You can use them either as your main bag or for carrying your books for school or college, your grocery shopping, for carrying your lunch.
Some of the designs are up on the Etsy shop and more will be available soon.
Hey Chimp!
A chimp, his bird friend and an annoying bug!
The original painting of this lovely dude measures 60x50 cm and is painted with acrylics on canvas.
You can find prints on my Etsy shop.
New Original Paintings
I realise I haven't been a very regular blogger lately, resulting in a pile of new paintings just waiting to be put on display.
First up is my beloved Donkey chasing carrots.
You can find prints on my Etsy shop. If you're interested in the original, drop me a note at elenikastrinogianni(at)gmail(dot)com.
2014 - A year to remember
As I was scrolling down my past blog posts, I came across my post from exactly one year before, my New Year's resolutions for 2014. As I wrote then I often try not to set the bar too high when making promises to myself, however, I always try to achieve the goals I set and just a little bit more.
So my resolutions for 2014 were to blog more, draw on my sketchbook more often and paint more. Simple, right? And a little vague to be on the safe side.
I am extremely happy that I have achieved much more than that over the past year, and have managed to accomplish not one, not two but three of my dreams in 2014.
First of all I have openned my Etsy shop, selling my original paintings and art prints.
Second, I have taken part in my first (and second) art/craft show.
And last but certainly not least I had my first solo art exhibition. Its was on the 13th of December in the Swedish Club, a beautiful office in Piraeus.
I was so honored that they organized this amazing event and gave me the opportunity to show my work. The exhibition was a great success and one of the proudest moments of my life!
As for this year's art-wise resolutions?
Create, Experiment, Do not be afraid to put myself out there
I do hope that 2015 will bring more happiness and succesful moments in our life, and wish to all my dear friends, my family and all of you a healthy, joyfull, creative and loving 2015!
Happy 2015
I woof you a happy, bright, colorful, creative New Year!
