Aurora Festivities - Kai & Ann
Ann was hard at work with setting up holiday decorations all over the Inn. There were red sheets over every table, paper snowflakes strung across the doorway, and rainbow lights all along the walls plus the service counter. It was certainly bright and cheery in the main part of the Inn! Although she had thoughts about decorating the rooms upstairs, she held back from doing so and put some of the decorations along the hallway walls instead.
After stepping down from a stool, she turned her head towards the double doors that made a chilly wind blow into the dining room, then she hopped over to the service counter to pick up a mug and quickly made a hot chocolate with whip cream on top. With her busy body moving as fast as it could, the redhead made her way over to the person who just entered and pushed the hot chocolate into their hands.
"Boy it’s chilly… Here’s something to warm you up, on the house! How was it out there?"
It was no good. Boats were expensive and he had spent all of his money on the one that had sunk. He wasn’t getting much money working at the inn, but if he saved he would be good in a few months. Or at least enough to get a job on a boat once the weather cleared up. That would pay a bit more since he was more skilled in that area.
Kai shrugged his jacket up as he approached the inn door, the collar upturned to ward away the wind. He pushed the door open, a gust of warm air hitting him, and sighed in relief. Before he could take in the new decorations a warm mug was thrust into his gloved hands.
"Ah, thanks Ann," he replied, grinning and taking a sip from the mug. The warmth spread through his body, heating his chilled bones. "I can’t believe it’s so cold out there," he sighed. "This is why I always leave after summer. I’m not sure how everyone here stays. It’s way too cold." He shivered, head turning to the side. Well, sometimes life gave you lemons. And when it did you just turned them into pineapples. Unfortunately his lemons were having a hard time transforming at the moment.
"No problem! Enjoy~" It brought a smile to Ann's face after seeing Kai take the Hot Chocolate and even took a sip right away. Although, the smile didn't last for long since Kai seemed to be unhappy about the cold weather. "Ah, well I suppose we just get used to it since we've settled down here. I'm not sure if I could ever just leave my home and my job to go traveling any time the weather gets cold, haha... But to each his own! You could get used to if you tried?" She wasn't trying to lecture him, but it might have sounded like it to someone who isn't used to her speaking her mind without much thought behind her words.
"Well either way... Oh! Why are you here anyway? I think this is the first time I've ever seen you at this time of year, hmmm..." The redhead gave her chin a thoughtful tap while looking up at the ceiling. "You don't like the cold... So I'm guessing you're here by force?"
Investigating the Portal ♥ Ann & Aria
Today was the day, those stubborn lampgrass plants should finally be ripe! It had taken Aria months to grow them to perfection, and now she was headed to her personal tropical getaway to harvest them: at Blessia Island. It was a beautiful place, she always thought it’d be great for a resort, except that it’s completely riddled with wild monsters. Dawning a thin sweater to keep warm on the trip, she scuttled past the local clinic toward the Sainte de Coquille square.
A peculiar purple shade adorned the fountain, who’s water had turned dark and was running over the edges. What in the world had Roy done now? Him and his stupid pranks. Aria moved closer to the fountain, that should’e been completely frozen over in the first place. Before she even had a second thought about what else seemed wrong about the situation, she found herself walking through an intense storm, the fountain completely vanished.
"What?" she cried out in confusion and fear. She could barely see anything, the snow-flakes invaded her eye lashes and blurred her vision. She was freezing and wet in a matter of seconds, shivering in her summery attire masked only by a light sweater. A dim light, possibly from a house or a lantern post, caught her attention and she instinctively made her way through the blizzard toward it. The closer she got, the more she realized that she was not in Alvarna. Turns out, the light emanated from a window of a home… or a shop? A gust of wind sent the door slamming open, and another sent her tumbling inside, the door shut behind her.
Pzzzzzt! A timer in the Inn's kitchen was going off like crazy since Ann had cookies in the oven. "I'm coming, I'm coming!" The redhead ran out of her room and straight to the oven while putting on two oven mitts so she could take out the tray of rainbow cookies. "Mmm... These smell great~! I can't wait to share them with everyone, hehe." Ann put the cookie sheet over the stove top and ran around the kitchen to gather some dishes. It would take a few minutes for her to move them from the tray, so she decided it'd be best to just finish cleaning things instead of going back to her room to tinker with her broken music box.
Moments later... Everything was clean and the cookies were ready to go, so she scooped some up then carefully placed them in Tupperware containers while leaving the rest on a plate. The idea was to share the cookies with any of the residents or even visitors that may drop by due to the awful weather outside. "I wonder if Kai is back yet..." she spoke out loud to herself while carrying the plate to the dining area. "Oh! Hello there!" That was rather convenient, a new visitor was here and that meant someone could taste-test her cookies right away! "Have a seat and take your time, we can get you something to eat-- Wanna try some cookies that are fresh out of the oven? They're Aurora Borealis cookies-- Then again, you may not know of the Aurora Festival... Where are you from? Do you want a room for the night?" The poor girl barely even had time to put a word in since Ann just kept rambling and rambling, but she stopped herself once holding out the plate of cookies to the stranger.
"Sorry, I tend to talk a lot, I'm Ann by the way~!"

Do you like it when your dad tries to sell you off when you're not looking?
"...Of course not! My dad really needs to stop asking strangers about what they think of me, sheesh... And he's not trying to sell me off, thank you very much."
Do you like chocolate bananas?
"Yes I do! I love all kinds of sweets, to be honest, annnd sometimes I eat a little too much here or there..."
How many guys have you kissed?
"I haven't kissed anyone yet-- Not that it's any of your business!"
Are there any guys in Mineral Town who've caught your eye?
"...Huh, what? What do you mean--"
"...No, no, no. Nobody's caught my eye around here-- Not yet, at least... Hahahaha... Ha..."
