Oh where could you be

Under those leaves

Hiding from me

Or behind that stump

That you call home

Living your life

All alone

I search and I ponder

While I'm looking for clues

To break this long streak

Of not finding you

With dreams of delite

Filling my pan

I eat you one by one

And lick the last morsel from my hand

But how you evade me

As I plead for a glance

Will this world grant me

One last chance

To fill my heart

And eventually my soul

With the delightful delite

That you bestow

I made this loaf of bread

From the thoughts inside my head

To give to a guy named Fred

Before he was dead
