Sentimental Value (2025)
sentimental value | affeksjonsverdi | dir. joachim trier
sentimental value (2025) directed by Joachim Trier really said that generational trauma is fucked up and we may never receive the remorse or reconciliation that we dream of!! but to know each other in ways we’ll never be able to understand, maybe that’s worth something

Did you guys know that this isn’t your grave and you can get out of this hole? I just found out
in the midst of all this noise - a clearing, a way out

Can we accept the grit and go easy?
I think sometimes we get disheartened by ideas of life being perfect — that we can erase our past or deny it in some way. Throw our head under the blanket and pretend it never happened.
Seemingly it never works — well not for long at least. Life is tender and raw and often feels like our nerve endings are completely exposed to the world around us. As much as we try to make life one thing — it never will be. Maybe I’ll never be sure of anything, but what I am sure of is there is a constant undercurrent of love we move along. Sometimes quiet, sometimes loud but unwavering.
There’s only one path back to love and it’s all of them
We rarely get over things, we merely accept them
Going through hard things does not make you less whole x
