“Oh my.” Galbatorix placed a hand over his chest, faking his surprise over Cora’s sudden threat towards him. Cute, how people thought something like that was going to make him back down and away. It didn’t matter who she was or who she tried to be, he had been through worse and he had done worse. “Now now, take it easy. I can’t give you a name, I’m staying true to that. However I’m sure you can use that head of yours and figure it out on your own, you’re not as good at keeping yourself secret as you thought. Don’t go leaving your information with just about anyone, it’s not safe.” He cleared his throat, feeling a slight annoyance by the time being wasted on such nonsense. “I see you don’t really know how to deal with a threat, do you? I’ll show you how it’s done.” Galbatorix glanced up at her, his face stern. “How about I remind you that I do in fact have quite the contact with one of your friends. He has been working for me since about last week now and I can assure you that if I disappear my men will make sure he disappears just as fast. They will feed every little piece of him to this city’s stray dogs and after that they’ll come for every other thing you hold so dearly. But then again…” he let out a dreary sigh, shaking his head slowly as he took a step away from Cora. “Even if I wasn’t to disappear I wouldn’t have much use for him unless he can fill his part of the contract. So perhaps I should rephrase myself: Oliver is in the need of that power of yours and you would be wise to lend it to him. We don’t want any nasty accidents to happen, now do we? I wouldn’t want to deliver such news to poor Belle.”
Cora's weak attempt at intimidating the man did nothing, she should have expected that but didn't. She was Cora for so long that the headstrong trait that she had as Persephone, all but disappeared. When he threatened, and cit came out as an actual threat, Cora fell silent. What could she possibly say or do now? He wouldn't name the person, and a very horrible feeling began to form in the back of her mind, that small 'what if' thought entered her head and refused her to think about anything else but that. What if? She had only ever told two people about who she was, and apart from them and the society no one else knew. Cora slowly looked up at his face and tried to read for any sign of lying, but whether it was because she was scared and not able to focus or otherwise, she couldn't really detect any lie to his words. Her brain immediately clicked onto a face and name before he said who this person was. Oliver. Of course it was him, who else? Cora knew Oliver would never relive a secret, especially like this, but nothing else seemed to fit but that, business deals, him knowing her secret it was all staring to make sense now. She knew not to believe this man's words, but her previous realisation drained any sensible ideas and once he said Belle's name, her brain shut off. Cora didn't want to make Oliver's mistake even bigger than it was, and refusing him tight now seemed it would make matters worse. "I don't have much power in this world," she said meekly, and that wasn't a lie, not a complete one anyway. "Leave my friends out of this, and I'll help you." It pained her to say those words, but right now, she just her friends to be safe.
