Happy New Year! 🎉 As we start this new year, we are making a lot of changes to our business! Coral has been hard at work stabilizing this ever-growing business and implementing new policies and software to streamline services and improve each pet's experience with us while protecting our sitters' work-life balance and preventing burnout. With these changes come more costs, higher fees, and a lot more work! Most of these changes (even this post!) take countless hours of off-the-clock work and they all stem from a lot of introspection and thought about to improve all of our lives -- especially our pets. Seattle is under an extreme weather advisory, and it's no joke! We've never seen ice this bad here. It is nearly impossible and extremely dangerous to attempt driving and even walking under the current conditions in many parts of the city, so all services are delayed until the weather warms and the ice melts (hopefully this evening). Coral cannot make it out of her driveway right now, even on foot! Pet parents will be individually notified of service delays but this is a great reminder to ALWAYS have a local back-up for pets needing daily care. Pet sitters can be snowed/iced in just like everyone else and we don't want pets to have to suffer for it. Please make friends with your neighbors and share a spare key or door code with them for these unexpected circumstances so we can ensure pets are covered even under inclement weather.
