Adorable puppy alert! This is Nugget, an 11-week-old Lhasa Apso. He is so smart and ridiculously funny. Such a character! I talked with his owner about proper socialization, handling, schedules, and getting him used to the leash. We taught Nugget sit, touch, down, and wait. He picked up everything so quickly! Let me tell you about Oat. She is a 4-year-old Lab/Dane mix and a huge love bug. My favorite thing about her is how much she loves belly rubs. In the middle of learning a cue, she’d roll on her back and pose her legs in funny way, begging for a belly rub. We worked on recall, leave it, not darting out the door, and place. Meet Derek, the cutest 11-week-old goldendoodle ever! We worked on crate training, potty training, impulse control, and some basic commands. This adorable girl is Roxy, a 9y/o Yorkie. About a year ago Roxy started refusing to walk on the leash. I worked on slowly building positive associations to the leash itself, then wearing the leash, then walking with the leash. Before the session was over, Roxy was confidently walking outside on the leash. Seeing her happy outside and how happy her mom, Sonia, was just made my day. It’s why I love what I do. Sonia reports Roxy is still walking great on the leash! This beautiful girl is Ginger. She’s one of the sweetest, smartest dogs I’ve worked with. Ginger loves watching tv and barking at any animal on the screen. We worked on reconditioning her response, and almost immediately she stopped barking at the tv. She also quickly picked up on loose leash walking. Unfortunately, Ginger has a cancerous tumor on her paw. If you could put some good vibes out there for her, I’m sure she’d appreciate it. These gorgeous greyhounds are Luke (left) and Leia. Leia is an energetic girl who flunked out of racing school. She needed help with jumping, recall, and controlling her excitement. Luke is a retired racer and much more laid back than Leia. I wasn’t there to work with him, but we still taught him the wait command. They both did a wonderful job! This passed out cutie is Sherlock, a 15 week old shichon. When I first met him his owners were picking him up every time he exhibited a bit of fear. This caused him to be even more fearful of new people and dogs. I advised them to let him figure out how to deal with his fears on his own, don’t pick him up. Last night he was a new dog! He is not fearful of new people and dogs, and loves playing. He’s super smart, too. Quickly he picked up everything we taught him. Way to go Sherlock and his people!
