We’re gunna learn about Runes
They may seem scary or confusing, but when we break them down, runes really aren’t so bad, and can be a fun way to get into divination!
The word rune really just means mystery or secret, which is fitting since it has to do with the mystical. We use it as a form of divination or oracle reading to help us gain insight into certain situations or questions that we have. Typically, the alphabet that we use for rune stones is the Elder Futhark alphabet, which we will be dissecting later on in another post.
Each rune symbol is a letter of the alphabet and each one has its own symbolic meaning.
Runes can be used to help guide you through issues and to also to help show what is most likely to happen. This is not a form of fortune telling. It will not offer you exact answers or give you the advice you may seek, but the runes do offer different variables and can suggest how you could act if the events you are asking about do happen.
The idea behind rune casting is that when you ask a question or you think about a specific issue, your conscious and unconscious mind are focused, and when you look at the runes, they aren’t random but the choices that your unconscious mind make.
You should remember to keep your mind focused on your task. It isn’t about dealing in absolutes, but looking for the cause and effect and seeing the potential outcome of what you ask.
Store your runes in a small box or drawstring pouch. You can keep them on your person for a time to let them absorb your personal energy so they are already in tune with you when you begin to cast. You should also use a clean cloth or space when you cast them to keep them clean

Let’s Chat About Candle Magick
Widely viewed as one of the simplest forms of spellcasting because it doesn’t require any fancy rituals or any of your ceremonial tools. You really only need:
to decide on a goal
visualize the end result of the spell
manifest and focus your intent on that result you want
I would stick to a smaller candle, especially for your first few spells. You don’t want to use a huge pillar candle in a spell that requires you watch it burn down, because aside from taking days to do so, it could also affect the outcome of your working.
Always try to use a brand new candle. Pre burned ones have already picked up on the vibes around them and you want to be able to give the candle your personal...mojo if you will.
If you are looking for or plan to work a specific spell with a certain outcome, try to look into colors and how they coordinate with your work as they all have different wide ranging purposes.
Make sure to take the time to oil or anoint your candle to establish that special psychic connection between you and the candle. To do this, you’ll want to start at the top of the candle and rub to the middle. Then you’ll start at the base of the candle and work the oil upwards to the middle. If you need to work with herbs, make sure to roll them onto the candle at this time, as well.
You can also use your candles for divination purposes. Watching the flame or reading the way the candle wax dries as just two examples of said divination.
If you are just starting out, an easy spell for you to try would be to grab a candle and a piece of paper in the same color. Write down what your intent and your wanted result, meditate on the ways you think you could reach the goal. Burn the corner of the paper and hold it for as long as you are able to, then let it burn down completely in a fire safe dish. Let your candle burn out completely and then dispose of the candle.
Blessed Be!
