From So En January 1999 Punch the Minimalism!! – Get out of the Minimal Mode Part 003: Cyber コンピューターグラフィックスによるバーチャルな世界をファッションに投影したかのような、フューチャリスティックなテーストがポイント。白やシルバー、蛍光色などポップな色つかいとハイテック素材は欠かせない。 Computer graphics are inspiring fashion for the virtual world; futurism is “in”. White and silver with pops of fluorescent color and high tech materials are indispensable. – I was pleased to find nice showcase a few of the brands that composed Japan’s cyberpunk scene in the late 90′s. Masahiro Saito’s brand Fötus got the most coverage here– and rightly so. Japan’s #1 cyberpunk brand gave British import Cyberdog a run for it’s money and was known for its intense CG digital prints and gestating fetus logo. The brand itself was founded in ‘96 and opened its first Tokyo store in ‘97, so it was still fairly young when this piece was published.
