✘Headcanon IV -- Regret

From Xigbar's Secret Report: "And we Nobodies can never escape the things we did as humans. So it goes."

There is a portion of Xigbar that regrets becoming a Nobody, and even pledging allegiance to Xehanort in the first place. However deeply buried from the forefront of his mind, there is a small part of him that knows he could have lived out his life continuing as he had, going through his human adventures rather than setting up plans and having them foiled every time. The stress of failure grates on him, even though he never shows it, and he grows impatient for his desires.

✘Headcanon III -- Ventus

While he gets some kicks from tormenting Ventus, this is the closest he can come to utterly hating a person. While Roxas and Xion had some humanity in his eyes, Xigbar sees Ventus as a broken sword and nothing more -- his key to Kingdom Hearts that needs repairing. His feels a mixture of apathy and loathing for the young Keyblade wielder.

He sees Ventus' face in many people in the series, namely Sora, Roxas, and Xion, and always has an averse reaction -- irritated by the angry look that he constantly mocks. This goes back to the very first time his plans failed -- during the forging of the ϰ-blade. Each time his plans fail, someone connected to Ventus is the cause, and his hatred for the boy only grows deeper.

✘Headcanon II -- Xion

Xion is the first person Xigbar is seen as being anywhere near affectionate toward. At first, he saw her the same as Roxas -- nothing but a tool to achieve his and Xehanort's goals, yet Xion's fervor and determination quickly won him over. He saw her prowess on the battlefield, how quick she learned and didn't ask questions -- the perfect tool.

Yet, a bit of him missed that fire that seemed to be within the Keyblade wielders. It wasn't a conscious desire to see it; more something he had grown accustomed to. It being so present in Roxas, this explains some of his implied fondness for him at times.

When Xion distanced herself from the Organization, he felt a mixture of anger and congratulations -- for at least she was thinking for herself, yet it wasn't in her program to think for herself. She was becoming a far less ideal tool -- but mindless tools were no fun, were they?

However, when Xion turned on him in battle, he saw her face resembling Roxas -- or rather, Ventus (judging by his line "Talk about a blast from the past.") -- and knew that the plan was failing. He'd turned a blind eye for too long, and now everything was crumbling around him. Defeated, his irritation was apparent, and all he could do at that point was follow Xemnas' orders and sweep it all under the rug, Roxas and Xion alike.

✘Headcanon I -- Roxas

It was very hard for Xigbar to see anything but Sora inside Roxas, and thusly Ventus. He saw him as nothing but a tool since his arrival in the Organization, and regarded him with a complete lack of hope. He knew they needed to gather hearts and Roxas was the tool to complete the job, but the kid was so clueless and showed so many bits of Sora and Ventus in his personality that the gunman had a very hard time feeling anything but irritation toward him.

This began to abate slightly as the two went on missions together, and even though Roxas was still clueless, he was trying, and he was getting the job done, so he began to hope. If he could shape the blonde Keyblade wielder into the warrior they needed, then Kingdom Hearts would be within their grasp soon.

Yet, it wasn't meant to be. Once Xion's performance started slacking, Xigbar began to see Roxas as the sole option to obtain the power of Kingdom Hearts, yet even his performance followed the same pattern no matter how hard Xigbar tried to keep him focused. His worry for Xion's state had him distracted, and now both of their tools were failing. He watched Roxas' decline and waited to see the story play out, confident in the eventuality that he would, in one way or another, receive his own Keyblade and the power of Kingdom Hearts.

Up until Roxas' betrayal of the Organization, Xigbar was able to push past his irritation and become a bit of a beguiling mentor to the young Keyblade wielder, training him and even complimenting him from time to time, having an easy, and sometimes nearly friendly, banter with him.

Once he turned traitor, that was lost forever. As Xigbar watched the gears of the plan crumble before him, his resentment toward Roxas grew and cemented, lodged deep in his being.

I hope I can be a quality Xigbar to all you guys, and I'll try to get through KH3D asap so I can be up to snuff on characterization and plot :) Anyway, goodnight!
