MATHS IS SUPER FUCKING QUEER FUCK THE WHOLE "IM GAY I CANT DO MATHS" BULLSHIT
"You probably remember this from Linear Algebra Kindergarten"
-my differential equations professor
Horror story
sitting in a number theory lecture and watching as some random guy claims he has “found a counterexample” to a very well known theorem. The lecturer (who has been studying number theory for 2 decades) tells him that it’s impossible and the guy smugly responds with “are you sure?”
2nd year of a maths degree
i genuinely don’t know what the fuck is going on but i know that i love it
A family can be you, your favorite bedridden Indian, and a versatile sum of two cubes.
Day 2 of introducing my 10 year old sister to fun math concepts
Yes! she is 10 now.
We started talking about graphs and I showed her a few on desmos. She particularly enjoyed y=(e^x)(sin(x)) because it “looked like a good slide”. I thought I’d bring up infinity again and she had a much better reaction than last time. She also found the idea of limits very interesting which is great! (I will expand on this eventually if we talk about sequences and series).
We also talked about slopes and she liked this part of our discussion more than any other part. I think I’ll draw her some nice pictures of a couple of fun theorems next time!!
Day 1 of introducing my 9 year old sister to fun math concepts
I thought a good way to start off would be to have a discussion about infinity. She seemed very intrigued and was asking good questions but after some time, she snapped and became incredibly violent. She chased me with a stick through the house and wouldn’t stop to listen to anything I said.
Will try again tomorrow.
No more highschool maths!
It’s a weird feeling but I am welcoming it. I’m excited to learn new stuff soon :)
I swear I became illiterate right after my english exam 😅😂 I keep misreading and misinterpreting things
LMAO I’m really glad I won’t be writing an english essay again anytime soon

It’s always “how fast is the particle going?” and not “how is the particle going?”
Binary Puzzles
Binary puzzles are really fun and an easy game to pick up, highly recommend if you need a break from your crippling Tetris addiction.
https://binarypuzzle.com <-- This website has an insane amount of puzzles and even has unique daily ones!
Here are the rules from the website:
1. Each box should contain either a zero or a one.
2. More than two equal numbers immediately next to or below each are not allowed.
3. Each row and each column should contain an equal number of zeros and ones.
4. Each row is unique and each column is unique. Thus, any row cannot be exactly equal to another row, and any column cannot be exactly equal to another column.
Opinionated History of Mathematics
‘Opiniated History of Mathematics’ is a Spotify podcast that I listened to at the beginning of the year because I was intrigued by how opinionated one could really be about tHe HisTORy oF mATheMATics. I was pleasantly surprised because not only was this guy OPINIONATED AS FUCK, he was OBSESSED with slandering Galileo and every single opinion of his was a super hard hit or a massive miss.
Highly recommend playing some video games and listening to a few episodes. Unfortunately, I stopped because he started insulting teachers and I think he even quoted “those who can, do. those who can’t, teach”. And by that point he just kept repeating the same opinions over and over and it was getting stale.
Overall, a solid 7/10 experience.
Hello Kitty Calculators
This is your sign to get a whiteboard for your room
Will laminated paper suffice? xD
yes absolutely. it even makes that fun wobbling sound! so it’s probably even better than a whiteboard.
