important question: how do you take the plant out of the vending machine? also bonus question: what's your favorite houseplant?

How do you take the plants out of the vending machine?

It's an "elevator" style vending machine that works like this, so a cushioned basket would zoom up and catch the plant as it's pushed forward, and while it's not visible, I also imagined there's some kind of disposable cover around the top of the soil to stop anything from spilling out. Then once the basket comes back down, the plant is accessible through the large opening lid at the bottom.

But the true answer is, like all of my illustrations, it's not intended to be 100% realistic or functional on an engineering level, it's just for funsies :)

What's your favourite houseplant?

I'm going to be greedy and pick two - Delta Maidenhair Ferns (Adiantum Raddianum) and Parlour Palms (Chamaedorea Elegans)

Maidenhairs because they're very beautiful and surprisingly soft to the touch, they do well living in my bathroom, and I really like the way their little sprouts shoot out and unfurl. Parlour Palms because I have a huge one in my living room that I'm very attached to, it's about ten years old and the light shines through its leaves wonderfully~

I don't sell tattoo tickets specifically, but I'm happy for anyone to get a tattoo of my work as long as I'm tagged in any photos of it online (plus I'd love to see them!) - if your tattoo artist wants direct permission before they'll do anything they can DM me for confirmation 😊

If someone wants to send a tip my way for it they can through here or buy something from my store, I won't say no if someone wants to support my work that way, but I really don't mind when it comes to tattoos and that's totally optional!

If anyone would like a more bespoke tattoo design, that's something that I might be able to take on as a commission - but I'd recommend chatting with your chosen tattoo artist first on what they can and can't achieve in terms of replicating a design before approaching me, just so I'm sending you a design that a tattoo artist is happy with and able to put on your skin.
