A Year of Cosplay - April

 April, too, was a rather busy time, but we certainly did not want to miss one of our favourite Cons of the year.Although the cosplay plans originally were set months ago, in the end hardly any remained as most were exchanged with more spontaneous ones (actually making the time even busier).

 It was probably one of the very few cons we had together where we more or less ended up not cosplaying from the same series together on at least one of the main days.And one of the very few occasions as well at which it was not Feli who got all that orange ... XD

 Cosplaying Lawless was astonishingly fun - especially having a great Licht as Cosplaypartner. She had to endure a lot since I was pretty surely rather annoying. XD I had a few troubles posing in such odd fashion but it was fun nonetheless.

A Year of Cosplay - March 

March started off quite hectically for several reasons and we soon realized it wasn’t such a good idea to stick to our original group cosplay idea. So, like, less than a week before the bookfair we asked ourselves what else to do that was easy, fun and most of all still possible. A friend of ours brought back the idea of cosplaying from the Percy Jackson series and since we intended to do the camp shirt versions from the start, we gave it a try.

 Getting the shirts and other stuff worked, getting the print on the shirt proofed to be pretty time consuming since we had to cut out all the letters individually. But it still worked even if we just finished them on the very last day and had to improvise a little concerning wigs.

In the end it turned out to be the best decision we could have made. We actually never would have thought how much fun we’d have with these last minute cosplays and nice others reacted to them!

 Taking pictures again became a bit of a challenge as it was really crowded, but still, our picture for march, taken by gettherythm:

A Year of Cosplay - February

The cold January was followed by an only slightly warmer February. For us it marked the beginning of this year’s convention season. Experiences from last year had taught us not to do really cold costumes, but we did not expect it to get this cold, really.

Years ago we did our very first group Cosplay as Team Minato from the Kakashi Gaiden Story, but as the manga got more and more stretched, we kind of lost a bit of interest in cosplaying Naruto. As the series ended at the end of 2014, we decided to do one more group Cosplay as it felt really nostalgic. Probably the first thought would have been to cosplay the grown-up Team Seven, but ... as we weren’t happy with the ending or rather their future, we decided against it. Still we did not want to do the normal versions and soon there were two chapter covers, which caught our eye. 

In the end we decided for the one that was more work, which was probably a pretty bad idea, but we all fell in love with how perfectly they all fitted their roles. No matter if you want to call it Lord of the Rings AU or simply fantasy AU, Sakura as dwarf, Sasuke as elf, Kakashi as wise magician and Naruto as adventurer/warrior just fits 100%.

A Year of Cosplay - January

2015 started with a really cold and snowy winter that gave us a hard time traveling as rails and streets were frozen over. But despite all it also gave us a good opportunity for shooting a costume that was meant to be worn in a snowy land.

We even managed to get the perfect timing - the day we took this picture the snow had started to melt. The temperature was not as low as it had been the days before and I was not even cold while outside. That Cosplay is a lot warmer than it looks, actually ...

It was a bit of a last minute thing to do the wig though - and all kudos goes to Meno as this is solely her work.

So, yeah, it seems, we’re pretty good in forgetting to post pictures or anything else on this site. But never too late to try again, isn’t it?

Last year kind of went by in a flash and we probably tried to do more costumes than we should have, promising ourselves to never do that again.

Yeah ... as if.

Well, anyway, the first cons of this year are over and we thought “Hey, let’s try something different” and perhaps upload a bit more. *cough*

We’ll try to post at least one picture per month showing something we did making it “a year of cosplay”. We don’t go to a con every month, but as we still wear our cosplays for fan meetings or shootings ... let’s see if we get enough for this?

Let's start with ...ehm, this one. It's one of our latest and one of the most spontanious... but it was really, really fun to wear. ^____^

(Fun fact: We wore this on the last day of a three days convention and while Meno was Levi for all three days (but in three different outfits), Feli had three different characters. XD)

Starting a tumblr blog about your cosplays and never ever using it ... yeah, that was a great idea ... So, we finally decided we actually should get a little more active.

Yeah, hello word, the second? XD

 This blog is meant to be just what the url says: Us ranting about what we are doing and why we actually love to cosplay and, of course, showing some of the results aka pictures. “we” hereby refers to Meno and Feli as we especially love cosplaying together, we thought a blog for both of us together kind of made sense. Probably you will soon be able to tell who of us did which costume as we tend to have pretty predictable choices of characters, but, of course, we will still tell you underneath the pictures.

Well then, let’s have a lot of fun with Cosplays, shall we? :D (Of course we are no professionals, we're really just having fun with this.)
