Thomas Bromley Blacklock The Snow Queen, 1902
Do I not belong to this world, or does this world not belong to me?
“It’s my life. And it’s now or never.”
— Bon Jovi, It’s My Life
“Don’t let the fear of what could happen make nothing happen.”
— Unknown
“I wanted to tell you that wherever I am, whatever happens, I’ll always think of you, and the time we spent together, as my happiest time. I’d do it all over again, if I had the choice. No regrets.”
— Cynthia Hand, Boundless
Tonight I was walking next to him, on the sidewalk, the smell of rain still lingering in the air. He was talking, telling me about stuff as he usually does, pulling a sarcastic joke here and there. I almost felt guilty for not listening to him. I was distracted by his smile, his voice, his scent: I just wanted to stop and tip toe to reach his lips and press mine onto his, closing my eyes. But I didn’t do that, because he is “just” a friend to me. I really wish I had the courage to text him:
“I am sorry I didn’t kiss you, but in my defence…you looked too handsome tonight I lost myself in your eyes”
“Close some doors. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because they no longer lead somewhere.”
— Paulo Coelho
Isabel Allende, The House of the Spirits
"Side by side, they were very much alike, in similarity less of lineament than of manner and bearing,
a correspondence of gesture which bounced and echoed between them so that a blink seemed to reverberate, moments later, in a twitch of the other's eyelid.
Their eyes were the same color of gray, intelligent and calm. She, I thought, was very beautiful, in an unsettling, almost medieval way which would not be apparent to the casual observer.“
~ Donna Tartt, The Secret History
Sanna Wani, “Who is the Sun, Asking for Sleep?”, My Grief, the Sun // Brenna Twohy, A Coworker Asks Me If I Am Sad, Still
Mieko Kawakami, from 'Heaven'
“When the day comes to an end, and the sun is setting just as the moon makes her appearance. This small overlap in time and space is where I have known you from before. Each dusk into new dawn another journey drawing me closer to you, our magnetic fields amplifying every hour until we catch a glimpse of one another on the horizon. I have been aching for the moment we finally eclipse.”
— “Good night Moon” remnant-thoughts
