Maya fey’s bedtime routine:

-check every door and lock. Check them again. Check them thrice. You probably don’t remember locking them now so you go back and check them once more for good measure

-slam all the windows about 10 times each to get the muscle and visual memory in you that they are CLOSED

-in the process, flicker all the lights a few times to scan the area and make sure no one broke in while you were checking other things

-say goodnight to your hosts

-bundle yourself up tight and have your phone huddled to your chest so you can ring your hosts or your best friend in case something goes awry
