Finding myself
Waking up from a long tumultuous slumber.
Feeling the need to stretch and reflect.
Creating a space for finding my soul.
Digging into the recesses of my mind that have been darkened.
Realizing that I am responsible for my happiness.
Refusing to accept what has been as my reality.
Expecting those around me to love me hard.
Healing my broken heart and wings with the power of forgiveness.
Hearing the soft whispers from above.
Listening to their message with intent.
Growing beyond the maybes and the what-ifs.
Giving myself the opportunity to accept change and fulfill my destiny.
“Your anxiety is your baby. You have to take care of it. You have to go back to yourself, recognize the suffering in you, embrace the suffering, and you get relief. And if you continue with your practice of mindfulness, you understand the roots, the nature of the suffering, and you know the way to transform it.”

Finding my way
Peace flows into my heart. It creates a cool breeze that gives way to a warm sunshine of love. Positive thoughts flutter in and out of my mind. Joy spreads across my cheeks. Time will give way to new experiences and struggles. Love of my guides surround me. I will find my way.
Snowglobe living
My world is trapped in a snowglobe. My globe is not a wintery wonderland of pleasure and delight. It’s a hot, humid, traffic-filled landscape. I am trapped in an empty car alone navigating the jungle of cars traveling with no clear purpose. Sweat drips from my brow and tears stream from my eyes down my cheeks. Occassionally someone picks up my globe and shakes it causing the traffic to shuffle and me to lose sight of my direction. Sometimes someone even picks it up to peer inside showing concern for my journey and sadness, but of course they can’t reach inside to help me. So they all sit the globe down and move on to the next toy on the shelf. As hard as I try to find the next stop on my journey in the globe it evades me. I drive in circles.
Going back
As I sit in the car in the same spot..the place my heart broke in a million little pieces..I feel hope. The view from my car is the same. An empty field filled with grass and trees but my soul feels newness instead of fear. Today makes the second day I visited this place since that Saturday. It is a relief that this time I am not sitting in my car crying and feeling frighteningly alone. My heart is still tender but it feels like it is on the slow mend. The distance between the painful memory grows each day giving way for something new. I know I can never go back..what was before that day is lost. I am encouraged that what we are building is stronger and more sincere than any task we have undertaken. It has to be more and truth has to be the foundation. My love continues to fill with depth and complexity. I see the need to fight for it and try to clear the clouds of uncertainty. My perspective has forever been altered but I have never expected flawless perfection. True love is found in honesty, compassion, and loyalty. My hope is this is where we have finally arrived on our passionate journey.
Visitors from above...sent to give reassurance.

Hope
Some how I have lost my hope. I am not sure where I should look to find it. Is it under one of the boulders that has crushed my heart? Is it behind the elephant of sadness in the room? Did I lose it when I spent years chasing someone else’s dreams and ignoring mine? Has it shriveled up? Died? Or is it just hidden?
I want nothing more than to find it. I seek it to fill my heart with the joy of living to my highest potential. I hope it can help me spread real smiles across my face, rather than empty grins. I want it to bring true partnership and deep soulful love into my life. I need it so I can remember who I am behind this mask I am wearing. I am so tired of forgetting who I am and only hope can bring it back.
Cool breeze before the summer heat. Time to turn my world upside down and leap. There is no other way to bridge the gap between where I am than where I want to go next. I have to trust myself and believe that my life can look exactly the way I have always dreamed and more. Watch me fly.
Hiding from the truth
It is so easy to hide from the reality of the mess we have created or lie that we have been living. Fear is blinding. Sometimes the difficulty of making choices is like being caged and deprived of our basic needs. Sorting out what is real and what is fake can be overwhelming and more than we can handle. Heaviness surrounds my heart like a weight on my chest that is paralyzing even my most basic movements. Some how I have to find my way out. I have to feel free again.
New Beginnings
Spring is lurking outside the window. The blooms hang heavy on the plants. The birds chirp eagerly as the sun rises. The seasons are shifting into a new rhythm of light and warmth. This is no better of a time to metaphorically shed the old winter heaviness for a new airy season. Change comes over us even when we are not looking. It blindsides is when we are least expecting. It stirs emotions that were once buried. Time to clean out the clutter...move past all that weighed me down. Be open to new and exciting things and embrace all that love me.
Confidence
Is confidence an illusion? A game we play with ourselves to feel secure?
This recent heartbreak has filled my body and soul with self-doubt. My reflection is tired and weary. My movements are slow and heavy. I wonder how I got here? I know it has been a slow build up over time but I wonder when I gave myself permission to truly crumble. I did not just fall apart all at once. It has been a slow deterioration process...a chip here..a chunk there...and now I stand as an empty shell of myself. I struggle to see beyond the reflection and emptiness of my lonely smile. When did the sparkle leave my eyes?
What do I take from this feeling? How do I put myself back together or rebuild? When do I put myself first? What does my heart sing for? I hear the melody but I just cannot make out the words. What is next in my journey? Who do I trust? How do I learn to trust myself again? How do I allow myself to love as purely and simply as I did before the pain? So many unanswered questions and so uncertain on how I move forward in rebuilding my confidence.
We have tried everything to get rid of suffering. We have gone everywhere to get rid of suffering. We have bought everything to get rid of it. We have ingested everything to get rid of it. Finally, when one has tried enought, there arises the possibility of spiritual maturity with the willingness to stop the futile attempt to get rid of it and, instead, to actually experience suffering. In that momentous instant, there is the realization of that which is beyond suffering, of that which is untouched by suffering. There is the realization of who one truly is.

Forgiveness
The most difficult thing to do is forgive. To begin the process of letting the pain and hurt flow through your body. Mistakes are human, real, and powerful. The vastness of the unknown makes moving forward scary and frightening. Trust is built not owned. By allowing the soul to pause and reflect I am allowing myself to be open to forgiveness. I am taking the first step at moving forward. I am ready for love to surround me on this next part of my journey. I choose to bring nothing but joy and peace into my life.
Flood gates
How ironic at a time when I felt like I was barely treading water the flood gates came tumbling down. The water of revelations has almost drowned me. I cannot breathe. I am choking on water, struggling to see through the stinging water in my eyes, flailing my arms around reaching for something to grasp to pull myself to safety. The emptiness of fighting for my life while alone is terrifying. My hero has left me to survive without his shelter and his support. He abandoned me and tossed me to the side without hesistation or concern. He destroyed the flood gates with his storm. I know I will survive because I am capable and determined. I am just left to wonder where does my survival leave me?
