- Milady, you may have anything you can carry. - May I have your word on that, sir? (requested by waywardhufflepuff)
Today, I am simply— Henry. Ever After (1998) dir. Andy Tennant

A bird may love a fish, signore, but where would they live? — Danielle de Barbarac
she is so pretty omg
A bird may love a fish, signore, but where will they live? Then I shall have to make you wings…
Anyone who can quote Thomas More is well worth the effort. The Prince has read Utopia? I found it sentimental and dull. I confess, the plight of the everyday rustic bores me. I gather you do not converse with many peasants. Certainly not, no! Naturally. Excuse me, Sire, but there is nothing natural about it. A country’s character is defined by its everyday rustics, as you call them. They are the legs you stand on. That position demands respect, not… Am I to understand that you find me arrogant? Well, you gave one man back his life… but did you even glance at the others? Ever After (1998) dir. Andy Tennant
Ever After (1998), quoting Sir Thomas More.
The most underrated love story of all times
I kneel before you not as a prince but as a man in love. But I would feel like a king… if you, Danielle de Barbarac would be my wife.

I’m emotional, sue me
But without fail, that scene where Danielle is brushing her stepmother’s hair, and the stepmother tells her that Danielle has so much of her father in her, and she feels like she can see him look back at her through Danielle’s eyes.. and .. and when Danielle asks if her stepmother loved her father... and ... the stepmother sniffles... says she barely even knew him... oh god... the water works.... every single time ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜. I don’t know specifically why it gets me.Â
Maybe it’s that look into the stepmother, it’s that one moment where we see that despite how terrible she is, she’s still human, and it leaves me feeling sorry for her, because I feel the stepmother really did love the father, but in the end she was only able to barely know him.Â
