IT’S THE LEAST HE COULD DO give the other the acknowledgement he seeks, the acknowledgement his father never received. Even if it was a little bit, he knew how important it was to the other, because he too felt the same way. ( You shouldn’t focus only on making me proud, Foleo ) he thinks but his mouth soon closes again before those words are given a voice. Though once he does a nod follows, ‘’ I am used to negativity by now as sad as it is to admit ‘’ he sighs once more. ‘’ You shouldn’t need to worry about what they say to me, that’s a matter for me to deal with ‘’ even though he disagreed with the other’s choices he would and could not force the other to change.
All loose threats had been proven futile and in the end the prince had given in, so he needed to accept it and so he did. That still didn’t mean he was no longer against it, quite frankly he still was, but he no longer made attempts to do so. ‘’ Regardless of timelines and circumstances you are still my son ‘’ and those words were the genuine truth.
Leon closes his eyes, ‘’ But there is one thing you must promise me ‘’ there was something that he hadn’t forgotten just yet. ‘’ While you performed several acts of courage and are capable of defending yourself I must ask you to refrain from running away like that again regardless of what I or others may say in the future ‘’ he was aware that a slip of the tongue may occur, he had enough self reflection for that, though that wouldn’t mean he wouldn’t try his best not to make it happen. ‘’ … You had me worried there ‘’
With the assurance given, Foleo gave a nod – although still feeling bad. He didn’t want his father to have to deal negativity, even the stuff that wasn’t due to him. The rod knight frowned a moment in thought. What Leon said was final though. He just wish he didn’t have to shoulder the burden of negativity. Foleo sighed.
“ Ahh....of course! “ Foleo replied to the next statement, a smile returning to his features. Father and Son. He was grateful to have Leon, although they’ve their disputes and argument. But that was the past now. It was changing. Soon, he was hoping they’d speak like normal all the time -- not of constant serious matters. But given the placing they were both in -- the army -- that wasn’t always likely to happen.
When Leon began speaking again, Foleo frowned once more. Wow, how his expressed shifted around in just a few minutes. He had...worried his father? That was such a rash decision on Foleo’s part back at the occurrence. He should not have just ran off. The boy would not deny the scolding he was receiving; as it were needed. He was in place for a moment, attempting to come up with what to say. All Foleo could muster at first was a mere nod.
“ Of...of course, “ He finally said in response. The rod knight gave his father a nod. “ I shouldn’t have run off like that in the first place. Not only was I in trouble, I placed you and everyone else in a situation that may have been avoidable. I’m sorry, father. “
