another aspect of this lore I want to hammer home is that THERE ARE CHILDREN HERE. THERE ARE CHILDREN THAT ARE FIGHTING THIS BATTLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE. Rebecca saw her partner murdered in front of her. Borden had to pretend to threaten to kill his boyfriend to save lives. Nora was almost murdered as a sacrifice and lives in fear that they’ll find her. June, Luna, Trent, the rest of Nico’s characters that are in high school- they all are basically child soldiers and nobody in Monroe takes pride in that, nobody thinks there is strength or glory in it, they just want these poor children to be safe. When they win the battle on July 18th, nobody smiles.

my favourite thing about thinking about possible interactions with the compass coven core four specifically is that while they are powerful, they are empathetic and wouldn’t hurt an innocent or try to intimidate anyone with it. but along those lines, they won’t flinch if somebody tries to intimidate them as well. they respect the power, but there is nothing you can do to hurt them physically or emotionally (when trying to intimidate, i mean). try to dig at maryanne about how her mother died for nothing? or at baby by saying the man she died for never cared for her? or either chickadee or sarah for how their families were relieved that they died? absolute stone faced. they’ve had enough time to work through those issues that trying to attack does nothing to them.
