DON'T YOU WORRY ABOUT ME AROS.
I have new motivation for those time pools...............
Moving within the shadows, quiet like the wind, cloaked in darkness came Titan. He didn't make his presence clear until he spoke.
"Hello, friend. You look... Disheveled, has something happened...?"
Something was off with him. Was he bigger than before?
Run.
Run rabbit run.
The demon stumbled into the hall, his shoes slipping against the ground as he ran as fast as he could. At the sound of Titan's voice, he screaming and stumbled backwards. He fell back on to his behind and was hyperventilating. Neo gripped at his shirt and looked up at the larger demon.
"I- There was-" They could barely get a word out as breathing grew harder.
Suddenly he burst into tears, wailing as he laid onto his side. They coughed loudly and tried to calm but they felt so horrible.
They were no match for that man.
They were too cowardly to fight him.
They left their friend behind.
They pulled on their hair and tried to look at the other demon. "I f-"
Another loud cough came out as he tried to sit up. "I fucked up bad! I- Azura's in trouble!"
Oh, how it hurt to see him like this. But these pathetic feelings should not be shown, or acknowledged.
Stepping out from the shadows, his sharp claws click against the floor as he lowers his posture, beginning to come closer on all fours. He looked more like an animal than an intelligent being.
He's face to face with Neo, and the changes to his appearance are more clear this way. The curled horns, the sharp fangs, and that... look in his eyes.
"Oh? How so?" He purrs out, whisps of smoke surrounding his fur.
"Is she hurt? Are you hurt?" His voice was full of worry, though something was wrong with it. It didn't sound genuine.
He looked over to the titan, seeing his appearance and noticing it wasn't quite right. Though his fear of the other man clouded it for now, he wanted to move closer but he wasn't sure about it.
"I- I think she is hurt and I'm- I think I'm okay." They wiped their tears yet continued to cry.
Neo didn't want to move at all. "Are- Are you.. okay?"
He tilts his head, perhaps to an unnerving degree. Letting out a hum, he begins to circle around his friend like a predator would their prey.
"And you left her alone?"
This was wrong.
His voice had no kindness to it, only amusement and blame.
"I-" He shook his head, despite the answer being yes.
Blinking frantically as if he had lost vision, he tried to focus back to the conversation. "I didn't want to but- I couldn't beat him! If- If I tried to fight him I would have died and then I couldn't have helped her at all!"
Now the demon felt that sick feeling returning, the one that made him feel no bigger than a hare. Staring down the eyes of a hungered animal.
They began to crawl backwards slowly. "..Titan?"
Neo's hand slipped and they fell to their shoulder, pushing themselves back up immediately.
"What- What's wrong with you?"
Moving within the shadows, quiet like the wind, cloaked in darkness came Titan. He didn't make his presence clear until he spoke.

The scout ran over to her quarters looking at the shut door. He tried not to panic but began to knock on it rather quickly, he needed to know that she was okay.
That the mirror hadn't been tricking her or just hurting her in some fashion.
"Azura?" He called out to her. "Are you in there? Are you okay?"
His heart was racing as he steadied his staff in his hands. They were sure not much harm could come to her as long as he was in that mirror, but they didn't want to take their chances.
No answer from the other side of the door. It was way too quiet for anyone to be in there, and if he had barged in there was no sight of the human, bed still made and untouched since morning.
It was almost night now. She should've been in her quarters around this time for curfew.
thereal-witchhuntergeneral:
A bit of the ice caught his cheek and arms, sending darkened blood dripping down his face, but that only served to make the General more excited. He cut through the rest of the ice wall with his cane and claws combined, leaping at Neo with his claws outstretched.Caleb swiped at him once more and grabbed at his cloak, slamming him hard on the ground.“That ice was a lovely trick,” he spat, licking a bit of stray blood off his lip. “But I’d like to get this over with. This is working up quite.. the appetite.”When he said appetite, Caleb locked eyes with the young demon, grinning from ear to ear. His voice grew a hush deeper, thick with venom and acid, and his gaze was threatening.“It’s been ages since I’ve had rabbit.”
Panickedly, he fell back once the ice was shattered and nearly hit the ground. Though it proved useless the second his cloak was grabbed and he was forced to the floor.
Looking into the eyes of the general, he hadn't seen a human anymore. It was some sort of wolfish beast that stood in front of him. They felt sick, they felt so very sick at the sight of the man preparing for what he could only assume was dinner.
They looked back at Azura, tears welling up in their eyes. They didn't want to leave her, but it was either that or they were both dead. Neo couldn't fight this man, they were only a scout and this thing had seemed to be more powerful than they thought.
He could fix this, he could.
Just not now.
The demon got to his feet as quickly as he could, looking one last time to his friend and whispering an apology to her as he took her hand before letting it go. He stood up and gripped onto his artificial staff.
Twice's the charm.
Neo swung the staff at the general, breaking it against him. It wasn't to do any damage, it was merely to distract him long enough so that he could run past him to the vault door and pull it open.
The scout ran over to her quarters looking at the shut door. He tried not to panic but began to knock on it rather quickly, he needed to know that she was okay.
That the mirror hadn't been tricking her or just hurting her in some fashion.

It was almost night now. She should've been in her quarters around this time for curfew.
His heart sank as he pushed the door open and looked around to find nothing.
"FUCK!" He cried out.
Where could she have gone?
It had been far too late for her to be continuing her missions. Neo didn't care if he looked mad, he ran through the castle calling out her name. They pushed open every break room door to every balcony they had access to.
"AZURA! AZURA, WHERE ARE YOU?!" They called out with all their might. "CAN YOU HEAR ME?!"
They were full blown panicking now. They didn't like the look of that man before and now his friend was missing. This was bad.
This was very bad.
Just as it seemed that there’s no trace of his human friend, the witch would spot a familiar door to the vault that they once tried to break in to steal palistrom wood for her. There are no guards around. A cold, winter breeze sways the door back and forth, seemingly coming from the inside. Inside the vault it was darker than it had any business to be, any boxes and shipment seemed to be swallowed by the cold. There’s a hunch that the human might be here.
He paused lookin at the door.
He didn't want it to be true, but it seemed to be the one place he had left to check.
Neo held onto his staff until his knuckles turned white. Swallowing down his fear, he pushed forward and opened the door. It was cold, dusty and full of a bunch of things he was certain he wasn't allowed to touch.
Taking cautious steps inside, he used a light spell to brighten up his path and spoke much softer into the darkness.
They swore they could hear something. "..Azura? Are you here?"
Gentle whispers hang through the air, for a born witch like himself it wasn’t hard to recognize the work of a powerful curse. The air felt incredibly dead the more he stepped into the darkness. Heavier, as well. It’s like time itself froze within this room, the sight of the confiscated items making horrible shapes at the corner of his eye.
He could hear gentle breathing up ahead.
He flinched at the horrid feeling that hit him, it nearly made him feel sick. Yet he pushed forward, following the silent noises of life that he could still make out.
"Hey? Is anyone in here?" He stepped close towards the darkness.
He squinted as he thought he could see two figures.
Two?
Neo held onto his staff, preparing himself. "Hello?"
The warm glow from the light reveals the two figures as nothing more than mannequins. A few steps forward, Neo's boots soon would trip on something.
Something big.
It was breathing.
The sight of a familiar white cloak, surrounded by a million shards. An arm extended above the head, leading up to a shattered old mirror. The very same mirror that Neo had seen her carrying around this past week.
Looking down he would realize this was his friend all along. Quiet, swallowed by the darkness and silence.
Deep in slumber.
He gasped before falling to his knees and reaching out to his friend.
"Azura?!" The demon looked at the scene before him and immediately feared the worst. "Hey, hey, c'mon!"
Neo moved to flip her onto her back, away from the glass that had been shattered on the ground. He checked her pulse only to realize she had just been asleep.
Taking a moment to calm himself, he continued to attempt to shake her awake.
"Hey, hey, can you hear me?!" He whispered harshly, the fear overwhelming him.
There was a shuffle from behind, followed by the faintest of footsteps. The aura that emitted nearby was almost as dark and cold as the room itself.
As the figure loomed over Neo, towering with all its height, its blood-crimson eyes inspected him.
"Hello there, little rabbit," he drawled in a smooth voice.
"Don't worry. She's fine, but she's sleeping. Let her rest."
The demon screamed before moving around Azura, holding her in his lap. He pulled her as close as he could to him and away from the taller man. His eyes were filled with horror as he began to tear up.
"What the FUCK did you do to her?!" He cried.
Neo looked back down at her face and let out a shaky breath. He begged for her to live through this. A look of anger and disdain pulled onto his face.
Not even grabbing their staff, they prepared a spell circle. "You bastard." He spat.
The General cocked his head to the side quickly, his crimson eyes flashing violently in the near-darkness. He slid the tip of his tongue past his teeth like a rattlesnake, chewing on it as he assessed the young demon.
"I didn't do anything with dear Azura," he said calmly, reaching for the fingers of his gloves. "It was the mirror. Unfortunately there is.. side effects to releasing those trapped inside, and I may have forgotten to relay that detail."
Caleb didn't at all seem threatened by the spell circle. In fact, he looked excited if anything. After all these years.. a real FIGHT.
He slowly slid the glove off his hands, flexing his darkened knuckles.
"I'm going to get her home as I promised. Now get out of my way, beast."
Neo watched him pull his gloves off and scowled. His eyes squinting as he held his position for the moment. The demon's eyes burned a strong dark amber as he felt fear fade into unbridled anger.
He was still afraid, he had no clue what this man was capable but the general lacked the same knowledge on his behalf.
Immediately they completed the spell circle, shooting a line of fire at the General. It was mostly a distraction as they moved Azura's body further away.
Once they were sure she had been in a safer spot, Neo ran for his staff and shot a plant spell that aimed for the man's ankles.
Stomping his foot, he held his ground. "Bring it on."
When the fire came his way, Caleb gave a low growl, tearing the fire apart with his.. claws? Yes, he had claws, sharp and sickle shaped, and an evil darkness crawled up his arms the madder he looked.
Reaching within his coat, he pulled out an extendable cane with a wolf for a handle. At the click of a button it shot out, and he used it to help rip away the plants that rushed his way.
"Little rabbit," Caleb snarled, flashing a sharp-toothed grin. "I should rip out your throat for even attempting that."
And, in an instant, the man lunged, slashing his powerful claws as a blanket of darkness followed behind him.
The demon moved back, his chest still getting scratched but he had avoided anything lethal. Blood soaked his shirt and he huffed.
Determination remained, despite the slight look of terror on his face. Neo took a few swings with their staff before making a much larger spell circle. They shot up a wall of ice in front of them, it was thin but that seemed to be the intention.
"You can try!" They leaned on their back foot, lifting the other to kick the wall of ice towards Caleb.
He could still feel his heart beating, he was terrified just being here but he had to protect his friend. He had to stop this mad man.
The scout ran over to her quarters looking at the shut door. He tried not to panic but began to knock on it rather quickly, he needed to know that she was okay.

"Hello?"

Neo... are you okay? I assume things are happening and I just wanted to check up on you. It must be chaos.

GET BACK-
Oh, oh dear Titan it's just you. Yeah- Yeah, I don't know what's going on but there's this guy! He looks like you but he has this mustache and this deepened eyes and this just-
He's fucked up and I don't know what he wants!
He was in this mirror, talking to Azura and now I just- He- Caleb, I don't know what to do!
So it's true... so I have an evil double.
Oh, this is just great. I'd like to paint the floor with his--!!
I suppose all we can do is find a way to put an end to him and keep others safe from his.. manipulation. Hunter is here with Evelyn and I. If you'd like to come where it's safe...
I- Mm. That would be a good idea, but I need to make sure Azura is safe. I can't imagine he's telling her anything good, I don't know what he wants or what he's looking to get out of this, but it's gotta be bad.
I need to find, Azura. I just-
Phew, I can do this. I just need to get my staff.
Then when I know she's safe, we'll come back to hide with you.
Go find her then. Quickly. And when you do, I'll send you our location. Be careful, Neo. I have faith in you.
[The demon smiled, his ears lifting for a moment. He nodded his head and ran towards the armoury, dashing to collect his artificial staff.]
[Running through the halls, he decided to check her quarters first. It was his first idea.]
