This is an absolutely mind-blowing fossil of a Crinoid (Crinoidea), often called a "sea lily," though they were actually marine animals related to starfish and sea urchins.

Finding something this incredibly well-preserved out on an expedition is like discovering a prehistoric piece of fine art. The fine, fan-like tendrils and complex, branch-like skeletal structures spread out across the rock matrix look almost identical to a petrified bouquet of flowers. Every single delicate line was captured perfectly under the sediment, freezing a vibrant, ancient seabed directly into the stone.
