jung soojung - vogue girl bts.
ensnared. kji, ltm.
Soojung has always, always been a fan of the annual ball. She might like it more, perhaps, if it were a ball in the proper sense, with tiaras and sweeping long skirts, ballgowns and corsets, silks and muslin and lace. Cocktail attire is fine as well, she supposes, examining herself in the mirror, her hair impeccable, makeup minimal but perfecting, legs long as they extend from the flared bottom of the dress she's selected, a simple black number understated in its elegance.
There is one significant change to speak of in Soojung's attendance this year, and it explains the suit draped over her arm, a guess at measurements sent off to her family tailor and returned in record time - obviously, since she had the money to mandate the occurrence. After all, her dear brother Taemin wouldn't need to have his suit fitted, wouldn't need her to select it. In point of fact, for the first time since she had entered the school, Soojung plans on going without him.
This is both in retaliation for the perceived slight of the other paying less attention to her of late, busy instead with his studies, and in her mind with various sure to be lovely and beautiful girls in his classes, girls he might want to spend time with more often, leaving her alone to languish in solitude. This is patently unacceptable and as such, Soojung has decided upon taking matters into her own hands. Taemin deserves to be punished for his oversights and neglect, and Soojung is eager to arbitrate it. She'd be a liar if she said she didn't love to make him jealous, after all. Step one was to acquire the suit, and step two is sitting patiently in his room some yards away, doubtless texting or playing video games or something of the like- Soojung's already forgotten though she texted him a short moment ago to be sure he was in his room before she set off.
The look of panic on the boy's face as she gleefully barges in upon him is nothing short of perfect, all wide eyes and slack jaw and tousled dark hair, a dismayed expression crossing his face even as she deposits herself on the couch at his side, leaning over to press her lips quick to his cheek. "My Jonginnie, hello." she coos sweetly, fingers smoothing busily through his hair as she returns to her feet, a firm grip on his wrist pulling the much larger familiar up beside her. "You know the ball is tonight? Its time to get ready, obviously. I've gotten you a suit, so, you know, put it on." she encourages idly, eyes wide and mischievous, unblinking as they canvass him, as if to suggest he ought to put it on now, this very instant, right in front of her. "Hurry up." she adds helpfully, with a swat against the curve of his ass that prompts a poorly stifled laugh.

It is not often that one find's Soojung on her own. The girl is no solitary creature- from the moment of her birth she has been one half of a whole and indeed has been quite pleased with that fact. To be alone feels strange, unfamiliar and unwelcome, as though she has lost some piece of herself or wandered into some strange parallel universe where everything is empty and quiet and grim. The arrangement of her features is solemn, brooding, lips pouted against pale skin, brows drawn together slightly as a fingertip skims the sill of their little apartment, perched on the bench beside.
The revelation comes suddenly, something she's often not had the leisure to consider: she could go meet a friend. Just because Taemin is busy doesn't mean she has to sit and wait for him to return, she can occupy herself in some other silly manner and be just as pleased, or at least properly distracted. As suddenly as the though arrives her gloom lifts, features settling into that same soft smile that plays mischievous against pink lips so often, the glint of knowingness in the back of dark eyes. Soojung is both dreamy and enigmatic and somewhat unsettling, a puzzle box pretty to look at but impossible to solve. So too is the friend to which light footsteps lead her, fingers curled around an ornate bottle of cloudy brown, green liquid sloshing obscured in the muddied interior.
Taemin will be cross later that his sister has stolen the absinthe and made off with it, claiming its hallucinations and illusions for herself- and for Sohee. She's texted to invite her up to the rooftop of the observatory, light steps carrying her up flight after flight of winding stairs, the railing wrought ornate in iron beneath her fingers as she ascends, finally, to meet the cool night air, the scattering of stars in the sky. She misses Seoul often, but not at moments like this, when she can see the canopy of stars with no light pollution to cloud them, exposed twinkling and bright above her head. She spreads the blanket out to settle atop it, twisting the top of the bottle open to take an experimental sip, tastes it cloying against her tongue. Footsteps herald her companion's arrival and she laughs brightly, beckoning her over. "You're just in time. I snuck a little sip already, I'll admit, but I was curious." she admits easily, unabashed, patting the spot beside her as she tilts her head to look up at the other girl. "Have you ever had absinthe before?"

“Because maybe I have.”
In another life Soojung should have been a familiar, a sleek cat with playful eyes and a wicked, teasing lash to her tail, delicate paws placed one after the other as she stalks her prey with an effortless ease. It's how she moves now, a step closer to beam at the other. She is leisure epitomized and entirely at his expense, eyes creasing and lips curving slightly, the tilt of her chin shifting her perspective as she eyes him intently despite the lighthearted expression. He's teasing back but his heart isn't in it, fingers fidgeting to tug at the brim of his hat, jostling it and readjusting atop his head, a process that repeats a few times as he clears his throat. He's hooked and they both know it- reasserted as his gaze follows her own, intent, curious, questioning.
There is something so perfectly appealing in the power of this, of taking pretty, pretty men and twisting them around her fingers, bending them over backwards, stealing their hearts to keep in her pocket. She was gracious today, however, offered him just a little out, a little excuse to make him happy for the moment, and he took the bait like such an eager little thing. it prompts a laugh to ring around them in the quiet space, a loosely clenched fist thunking into the other's shoulder in a playful movement. "Look at you now, Jonginnie, all lit up and laughing," she laughs into the quiet, fingers skimming down the line of his arm to curl their fingertips together, tilts her chin back to look up at him as he looms closer, finally bold enough to close the space she's left between them.
"Well then you ought to do more than think, shouldn't you? Thought is action in rehearsal." she teases, a quote falling from her lips in easy cadence, mischief writ through the phrase, a challenge in the twist of her lips.

“Do I have to hide again, or are we done?” he laughed out, grabbed at a strand of her hair to yank at it.
The warmth of the sun beat down against her as she slid lazily between the thick hedges, overgrown in an artful way that felt as though vines and flowers might twist out around you at any moment. The gardens had always been her favorite place on the campus, aside from the twisting trails winding up the mountainside perhaps. But on a quiet, still afternoon like this, with the sun high in the sky and the chorus of cicadas echoing in her ears, the gardens were as good as home. She'd abandoned her shoes somewhere, soil soft beneath her feet, grass tickling at the soles as she let slender fingers brush petals and leaves as she strolled idly past. She'd divorced herself of her twin's company abruptly, announcing a game of hide and seek and tearing off into the mazelike sprawl of flora, had slowed as she determined herself to be a safe distance from him.
Her life was dedicated to forcing him to chase, claim, grab, catch. Soojung needed the reassurance, the constant reminder that whatever she did, wherever she went, Taemin would follow, would track her down and catch her up again, would bring her home and close and safe and home. It was a stupid game to play by all counts, but the slight girl paid little heed to more logical states of mind, preferring the whimsical, possessive, warped framework of her own production. His voice echoed soft, carried to her on the wind and prompting a little laugh from the back of her throat, escaping breathless from her lips as she shifted to duck herself behind a hedge, peeking between densely clustered leaves to watch him amble by. When she found he was liable to pass her entirely she shook the branch around which her hand was woven, nose crinkling as it alerted the other to her presence.
A poorly stifled laugh escaped as he pulled the twigs aside to reveal her, eyes crinkling into mirthful crescents as she flung herself forward to fit against him, arms winding around his neck as she pushed herself on tiptoe to place a kiss on the tip of his nose. "Maybe you should hide again." she decided with a laugh, brow perking slightly as she leaned in to nose against his jaw lightly, peppered one, two, three light kisses against the stark outline of bone beneath pale skin. "You should stay out longer, anyway, you look better with a tan." Truthfully, functionally, pragmatically, Taemin looked the best at all times, in all cases, her flawless and wonderful brother. She winced at the tug to her hair, an exaggerated pout arranging itself over her features. "Now, see, I was going to reward you for winning the game, but now I'm not so sure." She made a point to sigh plaintive, wistful, as though he'd ruined such a very fun surprise.

Soojung isn't a fan of waiting, doesn't enjoy the echoing quiet of the room around her, barren walls, a line of mirrors that display the same wide eyed reflection that greets her in the mirror each morning as she brushes her teeth- delicate features, a tangling tumble of dark red hair, pale skin. She looks incomplete, like this, her slim shoulders dwarfed in the absence of a familiar arm slung across them, her fingers idle, curling absently against empty air instead of long fingers, a chill racing down her spine as the airconditioner kicks on, with no one to move closer against to ward it off.
His absence is repaid in the sudden appearance of another. When it comes to these things, Jongin and Taemin couldn't be more different. Where her brother's features are sharp and precise, Jongin is full lips and rounded cheeks, a strong jaw that reads of masculinity more than her brother's pretty tapered v-line. His skin is tan and his shoulders broad and when he walks closer he seems to loom, his hair in a haphazard disarray atop his head, but it almost looks artful - nothing like the careful precision with which Taemin arranges strands in the hall mirror before they leave.
"Of course." she teases at his incredulity, lips widening steadily, a flash of white teeth as she smiles. He's nervous and she can almost hear the rapid fire thud of his heart, evidence in the darting of his gaze, the nervousness of his laugh, the flick of his tongue over pretty, plush lips. "Too much?" she cocks her head to the side, hair spilling over her shoulder, a soft laugh escaping. "Or not enough." Soojung corrects him softly, another step closer, chin lifting to lock her gaze with his, steady and knowing and unwavering. When Soojung wants something, she gets it. "You want to see more, right? You liked it." Her eyes blink slow as she drops her gaze to run over the length of him, lingering pointedly before she draws it back to meet his own once more. "You've thought about it - snuck glances at me." She shifts the tense from the both of them to something singular- less threatening, less strange. Besides- she wants this victory for herself, at least at first. A game she plays to win, with such a pretty prize. "Or are you going to try and deny that?"
reverence. kji.
Auburn hair falls long and tousled down her back in effortless waves, hips shifting in a graceful sway that swishes the black chiffon of her skirt, a plain white polo fit close to a slender torso, black bow tied beneath the rounded edges of a peter pan collar. The whole look reeks of a witch, down to the black socks that ring her ankles, disappear beneath the edges of plain leather flats- also black, of course- that whisper against the floor as she walks. She is a woman - a witch - on a mission.
He's been watching her, she knows this. It isn't new. Soojung is aware of the eyes that follow her, the rumors that twist and eddy around her like currents in the ocean meet and break against the rocks. How strange, they say. Have you heard, have you seen? She's so wealthy, she's so beautiful, she's so twisted, she's so wrong- its disgusting, unnatural, improper, unhealthy. The words roll like water from her back. She isn't discreet, not usually. And so when the dark eyed boy pushes into the emptied classroom after hours to find her perched on a desk, legs wound round a familiar waist, fingers pausing in the slide up her twin's torso, well, she knows how it must look. Two sets of all too similar eyes fixate on him as he flushes, splutters, leaves. But after that she notices it- sees him watching. Watching them, watching her, his eyes heavy against the nape of her neck, the line of her jaw, the way her fingers linger lazy against Taemin's hand. And when she notices this, she begins to plot.
Fingers curl around the handle of a door, pushing it open to reveal a largely emptied space, dedicated to those who would use it for dance or martial arts and other such study. The room is wide and open and airy, windows arched along one wall to send light streaming in against the pale walls and wooden floors. When Jongin pushes into the room for his all too routine practice, Soojung is waiting, prim and proper in the center of the room, with a smile that stretches ear to ear. "I've been waiting for you," she promises, pitched to carry soft in the distance between them, which she waits patiently for him to close. "You've seen some things, haven't you?" The words are light, teasing, inviting, and as wicked as the smile that curves her lips.
