Today, June 7 is Gwendolyn Brooks’ birthday. Before she was a Pulitzer Prize winner, she was a little girl with a gift. Her mother ‘saw’ her and provided acknowledgement, encouragement and support. Let’s be that for our kids— our children, nieces, nephews and yes, our neighbors.
