CHRISTIANO PARKINSON || 27 || MANAGER OF THE GRAVE AFFAIR
PROUD MEMBER OF CHAOSWILLFALL
and i don't even like this beer
but I was told i gotta put myself out here
Hearing him confirm that Camille was still in the picture was a bit strange, normally Bella did her best to avoid mentioning the other woman but it was kind of hard to do that when the blonde witch was the reason they were here right now. She knew they were fighting before the ball, that dramatic entrance had been a big sign of that, and especially since they had been covering their faces with masks Camille probably thought Christiano had up and left her all alone. “I’m sure you’ve got a long conversation ahead of you there,” She muttered, obviously he probably knew what to expect more than she did on that matter. Rolling her eyes at his jesting, she did feel her lips twitch up in a small smirk, at least he felt good enough to joke around now, “If you get that bored, an elf can bring you whatever you please.” Her hand waving away the idea in a dissmissive manner, whether she asked for her own to watch him or one from his family it was an easy fix. “You’re cared for a lot more than that,” The brunette sighed, not wanting the thought of her devious plan having resulted in his death to sit on her shoulders. Having Camille’s there was one thing, but for someone she knew and had come to care for in a way was not what she had wanted at all. “Call it luck I suppose that I caught what was happening at the right time,” She lied, “But it would be in your best interest to stay vigilant, I doubt that bloody Order is going to let us move forward without a fight now.”
It was one of those things he knew he shouldn’t have been talking about , but after saving her life it was the only thing on his mind. “ I’m not sure there’s going to be a lot of talking , not unless it’s her finding ways to attach my head to a stick. ” Unless he told her everything , but he wasn’t sure if Bella would have approved of such a bold statement , so kept that idea to himself. That was probably the only way he was going to make up all the questions to her. By actually providing some real answers. It wasn’t like he could just explain the injuries , especially if he wanted to get close to her once more. But that was a thought for another time , he really had to get her out of her head. After all , it seemed he’d been the one damselling and needed a rescuer , and she hadn’t been playing around. “ I may have to take you up on that offer if I’m here much longer. Really hard to do anything when there’s nothing to do and you don’t really want to move… ” His words drifted off as she mentioned about him being cared for. He never really thought of that , about how it would have affected Bella. “ Luck , yeah that’s probably what it was , but don’t worry. I don’t plan on going to any balls anytime soon. Sounds like that Order needs a little mix up to me. ”
Alecto just shrugged at him. It wasn’t as if she had anticipated him visiting her at St. Mungos. They might have developed a close friendship over the last few months, but Alecto knew she wasn’t that important to him. More recently she’d started to realise she wasn’t all that important to that many people. It was a sad state of affairs really. But she wasn’t going to let it impact her. Alecto loved herself more than anyone else in this world, and she didn’t need to be important to anyone to feel good about herself.
“I mean…. I can understand. You had enough people to worry about without worrying about me too.” Alecto murmured in an understanding tone. She was pretty sure her own twin probably hadn’t checked on Andressa, so maybe they were even. “Cami will just find another reason to be mad at you. You know that right?” She murmured, a little smirk on her lips. “But yes. I’m fine. I had a minor concussion, but I’m fine now. I was only in there one night.”
It wasn’t that she hadn’t been important, if anything Chris had realised given recent events that she’d be more useful than he had given her credit for and that wasn’t just behind the bar, and it wasn’t what he believed every other male thought of her. He had Camille for when his mind wandered too far and after crying his heart out to worm his way back into her good books he did not need another fuck up to push himself away again.
“And for once , worrying about myself also kind of made the list , unfortunately that was just above everyone else and took up far more time than I’d have liked. Although And won’t be getting that explanation so keep that between us , I a - don’t need her worrying about me anymore than she already does , and b - don’t need her run of questions I will inevitably leave unanswered. As far as what happened at the Ball , and as far as And is concerned , I dipped out.”
Lucius had a cigarette in one hand and a book in the other, with his drink on the table. Things had gone in the Death Eaters favour recently so for once he wasn’t quite as tense as normal. Footsteps approaching him caused his head to lift from his book for the first time in hours. “Ah,” A small smile flashed. “Chris.” | @cparkinson·
“ Lucius !! ” He glanced up, drinking in the same establishment you worked out got boring fast so sometimes a change in scenary was needed. Whilst he had been recovering he hadn’t picked up a glass in a while but around Lucius he didn’t really have to explain. “ How you been , And’s not being too much of a handful is she ?? Asking too many questions ?? ”
Bella could only shrug her shoulders, she’d rather take question about Camille and her whereabouts than anything else about that attack right now, “She is your girlfriend.” Or at least she assumed they were still together, despite the contrasting outfits of the ball and all that drama. “Don’t try and get up,” She adviced almost immediately watching him struggle, she may not have known all about the curse that was used but if her plan had been for Camille to end up like Booker had, she knew the lacerations on his chest were going to be sore and newly closed. Sighing the brunette ran a hand through her hair, as much as she wanted to yell and scream at him for being so stupid to jump in front of, what was to him, an unknown curse but seeing him bleeding out did hit her. Although she knew he was Camille’s and had mostly used his flirtatiousness for her advantage, Bella had come to care about him in someway. “You focus on healing yourself up. And we’ll figure out when you get the lecture about your swerving from the cause later,” She finally decided on, much rather have that yelling session when she wasn’t staring at his healing scars. “I hope you realize that by taking the stupid curse for her you almost got yourself killed.”
“That she is.” He’d been thinking about that , and before now he’d have argued it wasn’t so certain. She didn’t know but there was no way his absence would go without questions. If he wanted to keep her , and wanted to make his save worth it , Chris knew he’d have to explain. He just hoped his save hadn’t been for nothing. The more he thought, the more he knew that this wasn’t going to be a secret he could keep even if it didn’t look like he’d been mauled by a bear. “Well I don’t think I’ll be able to focus on much else. Maybe I’ll count the lines on the ceiling that’ll pass the time.” He joked , but laughing too hard hurt and he couldn’t get away from the fact that he had nearly died. “Pretty sure the only person who wouldn’t get over that is Andressa. Everyone else could handle it , even you. But thanks , for saving me , being here, bringing me here. I didn't mean to scare you so I’ll try to be more careful next time. I have a feeling there’s gonna be a lot more of them flying around.” I people were more careful with their targets after all.
Whilst she hadn’t been too seriously injured, Alecto had taken a few days off of work. She was still trying to wrap her head around everything that had happened. Her heart still hurt. She didn’t even have anyone she could too about it. That was what made it worse. But, she finally had enough, and decided that she needed to get out. That was she was at work tonight. She knew doing a shift at the Grave Affair would distract her from everything that was going on in her life right now.
It was early evening, and it wasn’t too busy right now. Alecto was leaning on the bar, just watching people. She raised an eyebrow at she spotted a familar face coming towards her. “Hey you…..” She murmured, a little smile on her lips for once. At least Chris showing up at his bar kind of made it feel more normal
Hey you. Part of him had expected worse. It was time to face work again because Andressa was not going to allow him to have any more time off after disappearing completely on her. She would forgive him eventually , hopefully , but for now it was time to try to return to normality. Adjusting his cuffs , he knew long sleeves shirts weren’t his usual style but it was too warm for a jacket , and he was still healing for anything less.
“Sorry I didn’t see you at St. Mungo’s I was...occupied. I hope you’ll be a little more understanding than my sister was. Camille’s coming around as well , and I don’t think she’s mad at me quite so much anymore so things are looking up. Are you holding up alright?”
It had been days since she heard from Chris. She had done everything she could to try and find him. And here he stood, waltzing in to their apartment like nothing had happened. She knew she looked angry. She was furious. Downright incensed. “Where in Merlin’s name have you been?” How she kept her voice from yelling, she wasn’t sure. But she couldn’t help the venom in her voice. “I’ve sent owl after owl. I’ve asked everyone we know. I’ve had the Aurors looking for you. I even sent an owl to the French Ministry. And have the security guards looking for you.” She was shocked that smoke wasn’t coming out of her ears. “And you walk in like this? After everything that’s happened?”
Chris knew he had gone dark, missing without warning. She had a point , he should have let her know , but he’d already answered questions once. Didn’t want to necessarily be doing it again so soon. “I spent the night with Cam , alright ?? Had a lot to patch up with her , I’m sure you heard about what happened to her. You can let the French Ministry know I'm alright.” Alright was far from what he was as we winced as he moved , but tried to hide the pain from his face. “I know , I should have checked in sooner. Sorry , that I didn’t. Between the two of you though , I took my chances. Didn’t think I could put her second again , not even for you.”
He looked a mess , but an oversized jumper covered most of the damage. He was still healing , but didn't want anymore time to have passed without visiting both of the women in his life , now he needed to deal with Andressa. In his head he had redeemed himself , but realised that he would not be so lucky worming his way out of her questions. He had just walked in , but froze as soon as he saw her. He placed a small bunch of daisies on their table , temporarily using an empty glass that had been left. “ Apparently they're bright and cheery and are meant to help you get well or something I wasn't really listening. ” Not mentioning his disappearing act at all seemed for the best.
This was the first place he needed to go and Chris psyched himself up for one of the most difficult conversations in his life. He'd brought a bouquet of peonies , but knew they weren't going to cut it. He looked a mess , but an oversized jumper covered most of the damage. It wasn't exactly a decision made with fashion in mind , or the weather. He was still healing , but didn't want anymore time to have passed , his commitment to Camille was something he had set in his mind. After nearly dying for her he had wanted to make it stand for something. In his head he had redeemed himself , but Chris was never lucky enough to have everyone else see it too. After lightly knocking on her front door , he couldn't bring himself to speak so simply stood there , awkwardly holding the flowers. How was he even supposed to start forming the words whirling around his head. It did seem safer than showing up in her fireplace however. He didn't want to get physically burnt so instead waited for the door to open , hoping she was okay.
Just when Bella had thought her plans at the ball were going perfectly well, she saw Christiano all but sacificing himself in front of Marlene’s wand. Feeling something for the man pull at her heart and cursing to herself for his involvement, she had maneuvered her way over to him and Camille right as the fog was covering the dancefloor. It had honestly been the best cover she could’ve had when she apparated him away. After waiting around for Severus to do what he needed to to help Chris, the brunette was left watching to see when he would finally come to. It didn’t come as a surprise to her when the first words he spoke were asking where his girlfriend ended up. “I would assume she’s at St. Mungo’s,” Bella spoke calmly, no matter what differences or similarities she had with Camille it would not do her any good to speak ill or be sarcastic right now. Doing her best not to flinch at the tone he used when referring to ‘that bitch’ that was Marlene, of course he wouldn’t know it was really Bella’s doing, she did feel the need to keep him updated on what was happening, “Well you’ll be pleased to know there is word going around that ‘that bitch’ has been arrested.”
“ I'm sorry I know asking for her isn't appropriate. ” He mumbled , resting his head back. “ But thank you. ” Camille was probably in the best place for her and that reassured him , which did leave the question of where he was in comparison , but maybe that would answer itself. He seemed to visibly relax a little knowing his attacker was behind bars. He tried again to sit up groaning , half sat up , resting on one arm as he looked at her. “ So are you going to shout at me now or later for swerving from the cause , neither of them were us so why would it matter but...I'm sorry I couldn't just let her take it. ”
Waking up on a stranger’s floor wasn’t a habit Chris wanted to get in to but as he tried to move the pain sealed his position. It was too much and too strong and he couldn’t process it. Hands over his eyes as a frustrated sigh escaped his lips, realising he wasn’t to be moving any time soon. He didn’t know long he’d been away, but did know the long he was away the more likely it was that these efforts would be in vain. “ What the fuck have they done to me ?? If Cam finds out , or And , I’m in so much trouble... ”
He had been in and out of consciousness for the last few hours , even after being given the counter curse by Severus Snape. He was weak , and barely moving but eventually opened his eyes as his thoughts seemed to come together. Where was he ?? Who else was here ?? He wasn't sure, but the pain still ached through his body. Glancing around he remembered his last decision. “ Where's...Cam ?? ” He breathed trying to sit up but failing. His vision cleared as he spotted the woman actually in front of him. “ Bella... ” At least the two looked distinctly different in a haze. “ Whats...why...that bitch tried to kill me. ” ‘That bitch’ not a phrase directed at Bella , but at the woman who unbeknownst to him had been controlled by her.
“ Love is heavy and light , bright and dark , hot and cold , sick and healthy , asleep and awake - its everything except what it is. ” ~ William Shakespeare, Romeo and Juliet
MENTIONS ( in order ): ANDRESSA PARKINSON ( @andressa-parkinson ); CAMILLE ROWLE ( @camille-rowle ) ; BELLATRIX BLACK ( @wickedbellax ) ; SAOIRSE MACMILLAN ( @inkstainedmac ) ; SELENA PETROSYAN ( @lycanthropicdancer ) ; and briefly an imperiosed MARLENE MCKINNON ( @starryeyxdmckinnon ).
Right and wrong , a concept built upon ideals , and beliefs. Not everything was black and white , things only against the law because the law said so. Christiano’s moral compass was always skewed by those around him , aiming to please everything because he thought it was the right thing to do. Trying to keep the Grave Affair afloat for Andressa, his relationship alive for Camille , although he’d been struggling with that one as of late , for a larger magnet as altered his field of motion. He’d been floating around Bellatrix for a while , drawn into her allure and everything he did for himself always came with a price. This time , a mask and a promise to stick by blood purity , to let the weak suffer and those who deserved the power should reign. A promise he had made and stuck by , but until now Chris had never understood the cost.
It was the Solstice Ball , and dressed in Sage the male hadn’t run his attire past Camille , and seemed annoyed she had been just as brash. A white gown , the thought appalled him , unless there were words she didn’t want to say aloud. A shattered glass and the male avoided her , talking of his disgust to her friend Alecto , who had admitted to wanting to do the same. Despite calming words and a bottle of firewhiskey from Andressa his emotions were not under control. Not even Bella could shake his mood. Camille sent mixed signals , confusing his brain even further as he tried to understand the night that lay ahead. It was never going to be comprehensible. But he was given the opportunity in other ways , for the Dark Lord had appeared and he knew what had to be done. Slipping away into the shadows as a simple masked man , his greatest ideas , and worst decisions came to light.
In a daze as the fight started and his efforts to avoid his sister and his girlfriend were quickly hushed as Bella ordered him to take out Saoirse , a female he'd briefly encountered whilst she was busy having a fight with her shoes. It seemed all that was quickly in the past and no bonding over the usefulness of sisters was going to get him out of this one. A half-hearted spell , sent to avoid Camille but he had been called out. Warned about blood purity by Bellatrix , it seemed playing nicely wasn't going to get him far which meant he'd have to play clever , and with skill , and neither ability was an exuberant part of the male's personality. Panicked , and wanting to show he deserved his mask , a far more dangerous spell was aimed at a pile of furniture next to Camille , CONFRINGO. It erupted into flames nearly burning his beau alive. At least she kept her wits about her , and at least she didn’t know it was him and his twisted view of protecting her from further harm. Sure , she could handle herself , but right now things were unpredictable. At least she had found her way to Andressa.
That’s when she started firing back , he was the asshole that seemingly tried to burn her alive after all !! The idea of protecting her , trying to force her to the side obviously hadn’t worked as an onslaught of spells was aimed directly at him by Saoirse and Camille. He flew across the room only to have seemingly angered another woman in this world as Selena took no time in injuring the male further. Maybe a smash over the head with a skillet would knock a little more sense into him. Surely he’d have known better than to fight his love. Alongside the headache that was thumping in his head , courtesy of Camille and AGUAMENTA he was now soaking wet. Camille , catching up with her best friend, his colleague , and his sister. Against all three of them he didn’t stand a chance , even with Bellatrix Black at his side.
He reminded himself that he wasn’t just doing this for her , but for the war , where there were two sides and if you weren’t on the side , in their minds you were just as guilty as being against them. He didn’t appreciate being soaked through but it renewed his ideas to protect those he cared about from the dark forces at work. Something he believed Andressa and Camille would never agree with. VENTUS was thrown her way , but he missed , Camille returned the favour and Chris wasn’t so lucky. A fight with his girlfriend had been brewing for weeks , a verbal clash where their relationship was questioned , but amidst a battle when only he knew what was going on. Maybe he was letting off more steam than he should have.
Laying low he avoided as many spells as possible , knowing he couldn’t be seen to not be helpful to his own side. The powerful Bellatrix Black had been frozen by Camille , although it was just another target to her. The irony of it all not lost on Chris himself. FINITE INCANTARTUM on Bella and she was rescued from her ice statue , a win for the Death Eaters , and a win for Chris’ emotional pull. In a few moves he’d proved his worth to them and had saved one of their more powerful. It was a pity it was against the rest of the people he cared about. With Bellatrix busy , Chris found himself against Alecto , Andressa and Camille. A low-leveled wizard stood no chance against the three of them , and aimed a spell at Alecto. Bellatrix had other plans , however , as an explosion gave them both time to drop away. His heart in his throat he watched from afar as the three girls made their way to each other. His sister , injured but not alone. A thought that tore at his heart knowing indirectly he was to blame. As far as they knew he’d bolted it at the first opportunity. A man not there to save them against the monstrous wizard that had been attacking them.
But things were never that simple , as he heard Saoirse pipe up once more. Keeping his head down and mask firmly on , he returned from the shadows only to forcefully grab Alecto. His personal knowledge of her meant he knew she’d revel in the chaos surrounding them but he needed backup and there was no one else around he trusted , or at least no one that would trust him after everything else he’d pulled that night. Like everything else this came with complications , complications only heightened by a mask and a sense of mystery. He committed the worst sin against Camille , with the worst person imaginable. You got a death wish ?? Alecto’s words running around his head didn’t help calm his nerves and neither did her slightly flirtatious remarks he felt the need to respond to. Keeping his identity secret meant identifying what most people would do around Alecto , or any pretty woman for that matter. A potential death wish to keep his own cover , a thought that made him sick to his stomach. But anyone had to admit the girl had charm , and he knew he had to keep that close enough to his chest to keep his identity hidden. He was right in one regard , he didn’t need her fainting on him if he took off the mask and showed her who he was , but she’d have fainted for the exact opposite of the reasons she believed.
Another strike against Camille , another mistake. Of course she didn’t know , but he did and it was a mistake he’d have to carry with him , alongside all of the others. The fire , the wind , and her fury towards him. Only one male was stupid enough to be so bold , to be so stupid in an attempt to do what he believed was the right thing , but there was always something else around the corner , and it snapped his head back into reality so quickly he nearly gave himself whiplash. Camille was in a fight , one on one with a woman he didn’t recognise. His hands started to sweat , shaking slightly as he watched Camille buckle over in pain. “ Nooo… ” A word so quiet as the emotion took over. He was glad for the mask , for the tears running down his face were hidden from view. There was no one else that needed him , no one he had to fight for , but no one else was running to her aid. Right in front of him was his priority , and she always had been in his flawed mind.
A wand was raised , as he heard her screams , he couldn’t let her go out like this. Couldn’t let her think he was just out to toy with her. He hadn’t processed that she wouldn’t know , he would , and he would have never forgiven himself had he even considered his other options. Running across the ballroom , eyes stinging from the tears , Christiano intercepted the spell aimed at Camille. He cried in pain but went out like a light. It wasn’t the hero moment he’d been expecting , the time to prove his love he had wanted. She hadn’t wanted a proposal , but a chance. She had wanted his attention , and had received far more of it than she had realised. The church bells in mind were almost something all the more sombre. She had wanted him to show that he wanted her , as badly he did. If only she knew how much he’d done for her that night. If only she knew he could play hero too.
“It’s a cocktail that will get me through tonight, it might not be at peak performance but it’ll get the job done,” Bella mused, hoping to get a bit more out of him as she gingerly took a sip of the drink. It was a good relief from the usual champage and whisky she had been drinking, but it didn’t have the same feeling as when she was actually visiting the Grave Affair. Whether that was because of the different bartenders or the different atmosphere that surrounded her friend tonight, she wasn’t sure. As much time as she spent being flirtatious with Christiano, she had grown to enjoy his friendship and though she wasn’t one for many emotions, she hoped that whatever had ruined his night could be easily fixed.
The casal shrug of his shoulders and the words that followed revealed exactly why he wasn’t his usual self, of course it was because of Camille. “Ah, so that was not something that was run by you?” Bella murmured, for once not in the mood to take a dig at his girlfriend. She would say it to the witch’s face, but talking bad about her to Christiano was another thing. Having barely caught the extravagent entrance, she figured it had been something the two of them talked about but it seemed he was left out of the loop. “I hear liquor and a group of close friends are the best solution for that.”
“Well no one can make a Grave cocktail quite like us , but being a part of the party means I can’t stand behind the bar all evening.” He had contemplated offering his services to the bar staff anyway. It would have kept him busy, and his mind occupied. Wandering thoughts were considerably dangerous for the male. Bella was usually just the distraction he needed but for some reasons he was having second thoughts about that.
“No , no it wasn’t.” He stated , very matter-of-factly as he bit the inside of his cheek to catch his next words in his mouth. “Let’s just say against that , whether green was the right colour to choose myself is up for debate. Least , And sorted out the liquor situation for me and her. She brought in some firewhiskey for our birthday. I doubt there will be much left by the end of tonight.” He wanted to open up , wanted to say something suave and attempt the flirtatious remark but he wasn’t in the right headspace tonight. His head had been in the clouds , avoiding most opportunities that presented themselves.
Andressa nodded her head, shrugging her shoulder before taking a sip of the firewhiskey. “I did make sure they had everything they needed,” she said with a smile. She had made sure of that. But that wasn’t what she was here for. “I hope you didn’t take offense to not wearing the bracelet you got me. I didn’t want to ruin it or my dress.” She had gotten ready with Lucius and well…she wasn’t even sure her brother would have remembered what dress she was going to wear. Not that she blamed him. She tended to change her mind up until the last minute.
“I saw Camille’s dress.” She might as well just put it out there. There was something else bothering her brother but this was the easiest to talk about. Whatever additional there was could wait until they were in private. “I see a few people making the same statement.” She moved to lean against the wall next to her twin. “You want to talk about it?”
“Well I’m starting to think I should have bought a second one ,” he grumbled to himself. Whether it was to be used as an offensive weapon , or a gift though , Chris was unsure. He was wrapped up in his own emotions to a point where doing what was right , and what he thought he wanted were two very different things. “But no I’m not offended , at least one present will still be in one piece by the end of the night.” The state of the firewhiskey by the end of the night was still up for debate.
He tensed as Andressa mentioned Camille , it should have been a nice conversation , they should have gotten dressed together as his sister and her boyfriend had but Chris had simply gotten dressed alone in him apartment , for his own reasons. “No. Not really. She’ll make her mind up when she feels like it given that apparently she doesn’t where she stands with me. Either she’s finally made up her mind or has found the perfect way to humiliate us. How about we take bets on which it’s gonna be ??” The harsh , sarcastic tone had been an attempt to hide his fury and upset at his girlfriend’s decisions. It was all very ironic to him , given she’d been the one not knowing where she had stood.
“Oi laddie-” Saoirse called to the nearest fella to her, one shoe in hand as she balanced on the other a disgruntled expression pulling across her face. She was clumsy at the best of times let alone balancing on heels far too tall for anyone with sense. “Feck this- feckin’ stupid feckin’ idea.. what kinda person in their Merlin right mind wears torture devises on their bloody feet-.. oi ye-! Yeh ye- come lend me a hand will ye?” Saoirse called as she waved the male over to her who was apparently free and standing off to the side by himself. “Can ye hold this for me a wee mo?” Sersh asked, though before he could answer she offered him her broken heel with a scrunched nose as she set to untying the other off her ankle. “Ye ever worn heels fella? Here’s some feckin’ advice, don’t waste yer Merlin forsaken time. Should have stuck with me converse and called it a night. Jokes on me for listenin’ to me sisters ay?”
After downing some of his firewhiskey Chris took a few steps over to the female who he believed had called him over. “Me ?? ” He asked just to check before she grabbed his sleeve to aid her balance. He couldn’t help but lightly chuckle to himself at the blonde before taking her shoe from her. “I can’t say I have worn them , they don’t sound like they are for every woman out there. Especially ones as dangerous as these given they couldn’t even last as long as the ball. Easy to fix , but still a pain. Given the suit though , I’m sure any other pair of shoes would have been just fine. I doubt anyone is walking around staring at your feet.” Her comment about sisters made him think. He really didn’t give Andressa ( @andressa-parkinson ) enough credit when it was due. “I mean my twin sister knows how to push me back into line when I need it. Sisters have their uses , even when you don’t think they do.”
Alecto had been enjoying some time alone the balcony. It was the one good thing about her situation. The mothers didn’t want her with their sons so much. It meant that she could get some time to herself. That had been great until she’d been joined by Chris. “Would you please stop pacing around” Alecto sighed, shaking her head as she turned her attention to him. “You’re making me feel dizzy” And he wasn’t her boss here, so she could talk to him however she liked.
Alecto knew exactly what he was talking about. It amused her actually. The situation was quite comical. She should have been annoyed at hi really. Her best friend was his girlfriend, who he was screwing about. But she was keeping it a secret, and she really didn’t know how that would go down with Cami. She just raised an eyebrow at him, and then just laughed.
“I suppose it won’t help if I let you know I almost wore my wedding dress?”
He was lucky he wasn’t in the middle of the dancefloor when finding out this information. He’d had been hoping someone could set him straight before he exploded but it seemed Alecto’s best plan was to force him to blow off some steam instead of bottling the whole thing up which although was an admirable trait , wasn’t the best plan of action for a ball.
“Yeah makes a guy feel loads better. No of fucking course not Al because this is one big fucking warning sign to me. Do I avoid , do I take a hint , surely she’s not expecting like that tonight after telling me she doesn’t know where she stands because that’s the contradiction of the century !! ” He took a step back and tried to breathe. “How are you supposed to know what a girl wants when she tells you three different things ?? ”
