It was stupid, you knew that — but you were desperate. So so desperate.
You weren't supposed to be there.
When you accidently interrupted their ritual, something irreversible happened. Your soul fractured — not simply broken in half, but scattered across different points in time and universe. Pieces of your existence are now anchored to moments you've never lived, places you've never been.
The consequences are slow but inevitable. The longer you go without recovering those fragments, the more you fade. People begin to forget you were ever there. Your physical presence grows unstable. You are becoming a ghost of yourself — not dead, but slowly ceasing to exist.
Your only option is to stay close to the two beings who can help, while also making up to them after breaking into their shop which led to this consequences.
Sun and Moon are time deities, assigned by higher authorities to hunt corrupted supernatural entities that hide inside antiques — objects so steeped in history that they become anchors in time. The two of them after completing their ritual to open a portal, travel to any point where an antique is tethered. Then they will usually take on their human forms, and investigate until they locate the source. Once found, they extract the entity and drag it into their own domain, where they face it in their true forms. Cleansed antiques are brought back to their shop — their base, their cover, their collection.
In human form, they always wear a pocketwatch necklace. The pocketwatch help stabilizes their identity and stores their energy since in human form will constantly drain their energy when they not in their present timeline. Without it, their human form begins to unravel — and something deeper may be lost too. The pocketwatch also allows them to compress themselves inside it. This is important during missions where you travel with them or one of them — usually *Sunny, because Moon would rather be like "over my dead body" than agree to it — will turn into the pocketwatch for you to wear. From inside, they can rest, conserve energy, and guide you through a whisper only you can hear. They emerge when it matters: danger, confrontations, the moments you can't face alone or need their help.
