Sincerest apologies for unannounced inactivity I got busy, traveled, worked, and in general forgot/got too anxious to start threads or reply to existing ones.
I can’t guarantee that I’ll be readily active from now on, but I am very aware how shitty my commitment is

I figured since you’re quite a bit closer to them, you’d have an idea of maybe what sort of theme for a carving they would like?”
“They did? I’m honestly surprised they’d let you touch Padparadscha’s bed. How did you do it?”
“I mean, I don’t know if I’m the best one to help with that sort of thing…I can’t say I have much of an aesthetic sense. Did you have any ideas for it?”
“Really, I just asked if they had anything for me to do! Work’s been pretty slow lately so I’m happy to get any new project!”
“My first thought was maybe some swirly curly motif that resembles dear Padpa’s lovely hair. I wanted a second opinion though, just to be safe. Maybe some leaf details as well?”

“That is very true… I might not be a very good judge of this, but perhaps they’re better off the way they are now? They’re certainly stronger, and don’t complain as much as they used to. Although, it can be debated as to whether or not they can still be called ‘Phosphophyllite’…”
“We have no way of knowing if they are better off or not, and no way of fixing the problem. I wish Phos would have kept a journal, like I do, but its too late for it now.”

“more than that, the whole point of going through change, improving yourself, and what not….is that you have learned something. it almost seems like they are cursed; that they would never be sufficient as a complete Phos.”

“good - a lot better now that i don’t have to piece Phos back together for the fifth or sixth time in a week.”

“Yes, that’s understandable. Their bed is kept right over here…”

“Sure but…has it been that long? its not like they’ve gotten taller.”

“I’m doing quite alright, thank you for asking! My work flow has been surprisingly light for the season, not that I’m complaining, it just gets a little lonely sitting in the workshop all by myself.”
The orange gem catches hold of one of their braids and fidgets with the loose end. “Peridot’s doing alright from what I can tell. They always get so invested in their work. How are you doing? Patrols been going okay? How’s that battle-crazed partner of yours?”
‘ bortz ? oh we split up, me and yellow are now partners. ’ their voice was a bit different from before, rather than being sad about them no longer being partners they were happy that they DID split up. bortz’s partner is zircon and they don’t plan on complaining despite they care and envy them at the same time.
‘ zircon is now bortz’s partner, it looks like the two of us switched partners, heh. but it’s fine, bortz always make the RIGHT choice, and i have nothing against it. ’ they smile.
“Well, as long as you’re both happy, that’s what matters most.”
Their eyebrows scrunch together a fraction in slight concern, not enough to directly dive into the topic, but enough that they feel the need to express that they care.
“If you ever get lonely or just need someone to talk to, my workshop is always open! I’m always here if you need anything at all.”

“Oh, gladly! Did you have a certain design in mind? And special features you’d like added? With how empty my schedule’s been, I could likely get it finished before the end of the week!”
“well, i was thinking…if you could make it like a drawer or cupboard, that it slides out smoothly and quickly. Their hardness and toughness may be near the Diamonds’, but after so many years I would rather that i didn’t bump them along the ground anymore. Something like that, if you can?”
A gentle smile graces the craftsgem’s face.
“I can definitely do that. I’ll get right on it!”
