So I finally painted the diadem and did a makeup test with the henley. Next steps are the scale mail and coat. And now that I have a contouring cream instead of just powder, some more makeup practice. I like it though.

I spent all of last night screaming about Verity before reading the letters today and crying for about 20 minutes... I mean, I'm sick, but that gutted me in a way I wasn't prepared for.

Casket of Ancient Winters plan

I've been trying to figure ot a way to do the Casket of Ancient Winters from the first Thor movie. At first, I was going to make it from Plexiglas. It's durable and etchable, for the cracks on the front. The problem is that I would be hard pressed to be entirely accurate with the angles of it. So I'm going a different route with a friend. We're going to stack foam board to make a block (much cheaper than a foam block), carve it out and vacuum form a plastic shell around it, and then use aluminum flashing for the framework around it. It'll be much cleaner in terms of the bending, there's no chance of warping the Plexiglas, and it will be a lot lighter than using Plexiglas as well! I can't wait to see this come together!

The progression from draft to first attempt to second attempt to the foam cutout I'll cover with Worbla. :D I'm no artist, but I'm pleased that I managed to get something workable! This is why you should just try something!

I've never drawn a blueprint for a prop before. And my drawing skills are...well, I'll improve. The end result does not reflect the time put in! XD

Day 1 of New Projects:

Time to start slowly collecting supplies. It’s important to know that cosplay can be done slowly. There’s no rush to collect everything all at once!

The drawer insert will be cut down to make straps for invisible shoes. The beading wire will be used to sew the straps onto the gel inserts. The sketch pad is for planning out props with measurements, and the acrylic knife will be used for cutting the Plexiglass on the Casket of Ancient Winters!

These are my upcoming cosplay projects! Ed from Cowboy Bebop, Loki, Goddess of Stories from Agent of Asgard, and Loki with the Casket of Ancient Winters from the first Thor movie! I like this lineup because I’m still a relative beginner. Ed will be simple, Agent of Asgard Loki will be more difficult, and Loki from the MCU will be my, “Are you insane trying to do this?!” cosplay. Both Lokis will debut at C2E2 2020.
