Upon hearing their Goddess’s release command, the twins both immediately started to stretch, an extra long hunt that day had made both of them tired. A yawn escaping the female twin’s lips as she cracked her neck, “Oh man I thought we were going to hunt deep into the night to be honest.” Kazuha simply nodded in agreement before rubbing his eye, he was probably, even more, tired than his sister even though he didn’t express it. After stretching both stood tall and proud, ready to be dismissed on her command. When they heard the words they both said their normal farewells for now and walked to their room fully ready to collapse on their bed. However, red hues scanned the area looking for a newer shinki. Someone they had become rather close with, when they didn’t see her there to greet them they both seemed a bit disappointing by it. Deciding perhaps they had just missed her they decided to go and, at least, change into more comfortable clothes, their uniforms a bit dirty from the day.
Finally reaching their room they opened the door to find the girl in question, immediately excited the female twin smiled brightly before speaking, “I thought maybe you went to bed and forgot to say hi to us today! I know we have been busy, but ya know.” The male twin walked in and shut the door before blinking and speaking very softly, “Are you holding something?” When presented with the answer to his question the male held the bunny in his hands looking a bit surprised. His female counterpart held the lion in her own before trying to hand it back only to realize it was a gift. “W-wait you made these for us?”, she asked a bit shocked before smiling happily. Not able to control herself the girl grabbed the newer shinki and pulled her into a hug only to have her brother join in, they both held onto the small girl hugging her tightly. Tears in the male twin’s eyes from happiness, he thanked her quietly. Had either twin ever truly had a friend that wasn’t the other? Neither truly knew how long they had been with the War Goddess, all the days had started to mesh together. Neither truly questioned it very often, they just accepted their differences and stuck together. It was easier that way if they just stayed with one another, that was until the War Goddess had taken on another girl around their age with a similar hue to their own.
Upon meeting gazes, the twins were surprised by the crimson hues staring back at them, the obvious warning of being nice and making her feel welcome but they were both reeling from the similar eyes looking back at them. Neither had particularly taken much interest in the new shinki, they weren’t mean they just stuck to what they knew. However, she was different and continuously proved that to them. Lacing hands together each twin took one of the girl’s hands in their own as they smiled at her, their free hands holding out the respected origami piece. The objects had become precious to them in that very instant, and they both knew it as they held the girl’s hand that she was precious to them as well. Their only friend in a theoretically immortal existence, it was about time they had one. Neither could be happier, their afterlife was truly starting to feel like the heaven everyone always told them it was.
“You’re really talented you know.”, the female twin praised as she pulled her hand free to place the paper figure on their bookshelf, after a moment her male twin did the same placing his to face the lion. Two sides of one coin, but the girl stopped and looked at the girl for a moment before pulling the desk drawer open and quickly folding a paper rose before placing it between the lion and bunny. “There that looks better.”, she smiled and gestured for the young girl to take a look.
“Anyway, you wanna hear about our mission or what?”
