Someone asked me a while ago if I still had a photo of the worst sink I had ever seen while apartment hunting in Los Angeles. I assumed I deleted it so I didn't answer the ask and now it's gone, but as it turns out, yes, I do still have a photo of it.

Worst part about gatekeepery trans healthcare shit is that it doesn't even insist on any good fetishes. If they made retention enemas part of the real life experience test I'd be a transmedicalist.
Trans healthcare peaked when you had to dress up like a grindr sissy and give the doctor a blowjob in exchange for hormones in six months. They were cooking back then. Now they just send you a lot of letters with your deadname on.

Ūropi (Europe)
Ūropi, also known by its indigenous name “Europe”, meaning “wide-gazing” or “broad of aspect”, is a small continent first discovered in 1806 by Moehanga of Ngāpuhi, although indigenous Europeans had been living there for many thousands of years. Modern researchers believe the indigenous Europeans originally migrated from the Middle East, and over time split into separate tribes or “kingdoms,” with many retaining their ancient rangatira (called “monarchs” or “nobility”) to this day.
While many see Ūropi as timeless and exotic, indigenous Europeans have actually adapted well to the modern economy, often exporting cultural products like baguettes and vodka, the former of which may be recognisable as the basis for bánh mì.
blocked blocked blocked blocked!
none of you possesses the mandate of heaven!
Blocks. . . as in BRONZE blocks!?
As in BLOCKS of moveable type!?
Brilliant! Such a technology would allow books to be reproduced en masse, without the need for laboriously reproducing books by hand! This would greatly increase the number of copies of books that we could create, as well as greatly reduce the incidence of copying errors!
OH! And if my new alphabetic syllabary takes off, then instead of hundreds of blocks for different ideograms, a case of printing blocks could include dozens of copies of each letter, thus allowing for more rapid deployment and a much more efficient storage of the printing blocks!
This could lead to a literacy revolution! We could mass produce texts for the common people! Everyone, not just the elite scholars, could study the works of the great Confucianist masters, thus increasing loyalty, filial piety, and virtuous behavior!
Brilliant!
DELETE YOUR BLOG
Of course! Anything for the illustrious First Emperor of the Middle Kingdoms!
Update: I have consulted the court historians, and they have told me that it is not possible for me to delete official government records, and that my request to do so will be added to the sillok.
ABDICATE!!!!
FIRST KILL ALL THE COURT HISTORIANS AND THEN FUCKING ABDICATE
AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION I AM NOT THE FIRS T EMPEROR OF THE '"MIDDLE KINGDOMS"" I AM THE FIRST EMPEROR PREIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I AM THE GLORIOUS PROGENITOR THE FIRST OF THE FIRST A GOD AMONGST MEN I INVENTED THE FUCKING JOB THERE IS NONE BEFORE ME AND NONE WHO CAN MATCH ME I AM HEAVEN'S SPEACIAL BOY!!!!!!!!!!
Oh dear! I have addressed the First Emperor by an improper title! Such shame! Such an embarrassing gaffe! I shall ask the royal scholars to make the subject of my next royal lecture the proper forms of address in the Qin courts.
As for the other matter, I shall consult with the Jip Hanjeon for their advice in this matter.
After consulting with the great minds of my kingdom, it has been decided that committing mass murder of the court historians and fleeing the castle is not in line with the teachings of Confucius, and does not adhere to the concepts of benevolent governance.

I honestly have a really hard time drumming up sympathy for all the grown-up adults who seem to be realizing *for the first time* that social and political institutions are essentially fictions which only function when a critical mass of people agree to believe in them.
Like. This precarity and vulnerability isn't some sort of wild anarchist conspiracy theory I've cooked up, it is the fundamental basis of social contract theory and it has been for about the past 400 years. It's a foundational principal of every single one of the liberal democracies y'all claim to love so much. They taught us this in 10th grade civics class.
I seem to have run up against a cohort of legal platonists who thought the laws of the land were supposed to be analogous to the laws of physics and mathematics
Hello friends we need to talk about this twitter account:
You might know him from a thread where he was getting wowed by free appetisers in a Mexican restaurant.
Firstly: He is doing a bit pretending to be a wandering samurai. It's a joke and his posts are all made up. This is very obvious if you actually look at his account and website:
He does purport to be Japanese but based on some of the other content he posts there's reason to believe he's British.
Which brings me to my second point: his Samurai content is interspersed with posts like this:
And this:
He is not cute or funny. Stop platforming him.
The chips and salsa thread went viral in June and his website seems to have gone live in July. This confirms what I suspected which is that said website with it's explicit disclaimers was made in response to the big viral hit.
Consequently, back when he first blew up it was potentially a bit harder to figure out that his stories are fictional. That said, the New York Times worked it out so I'm comfortable accusing outlets who ran the story describing him as a Japanese world cup tourist of legitimately terrible journalism.
Regarding some comments in the notes:
Yeah this is also the guy from the truck thread going around. That's what prompted this post and in retrospect I should have said so explicitly.
He claims he just uses AI to translate his posts from Japanese. He also says the art on his website isn't AI generated. I think he is full of shit on both counts.
I only gave a couple of examples but even on a brief look through his twitter it was apparent that he posts a LOT about UK politics to the point where he's quite patently British. He is a Restore supporter which is a party that split away from mainstream far right party Reform due to feeling they weren't right wing enough.
It might not surprise you to hear he does not seem to know shit about Japan? Both the salsa story and the truck story failed the smell test for people who are familiar with Japan. There's also a story about going to a potluck where he seemingly couldn't come up with a single Japanese dish for the character to cook??
Yeah his whole bit is racist and it is troubling that so many people took a guy badly roleplaying as a medieval samurai to be a 21st century Japanese tourist.
