Been reading a lot of Fabula Ultima, and it’s been invoking such vivid memories of growing up with jrpg games.
Plus, the expansion books introduce not only more settings and classes, but also fun systems for limit breaks, materia-like skills, and a bunch of other stuff.
What I like most is how fluid the system is. From just skill checks, to inventory, to combat damage, a lot of thought has gone into flow. Combat also doesn’t involve movement, traditionally speaking, and instead of movement is needed you just implement a clock system with skill-based objectives. Very cool.
I want to give it a really good read, and then start to build out a world with some friends before diving into proper games. I have some good ideas already though.
