i've been in this fandom since 2016, so i've seen headcanons and zone culture and terminology of all kinds.

with that said, i'd like to present the official (unofficial) danger days dictionary.

includes everything from zone culture, slang, battery city locations, phoenix witch, even down to bad luck beads and the dust bowl.

DANGER DAYS DICTIONARY.

for the nitpickers out there, the comics are mainly discarded in this— due to how overwhelming it would be to throw in even MORE overlapping terms and such. some comic characters have been slipped into the regular timeline / universe, just for funsies and a honorary mention. don't come at me, thanks!

YUM!!! i love that omg. doomsday is a strong kickoff, i think dust can work afterwards. otherwise you could swap in "digger", "canary", "gumball", "gospel", "jackpot", etc. zero pressure i am always obsessed with throwing fresh words at people who ask about names <3

to be honest i don't really use the album as a plot device / chronological reference— though it did flesh out a hell of a lot more of how the zones + culture + universe sounds and feels like?

but everything is canon in some sense, because danger days is such a sprawling thing that fanon has merged with canon to become what it is today!!! and that's pretty fucking sick so. whatever you want or need it to be is my take HAHA

thinking about how there's definitely a whole zone 4 market stall for pre-BLI propaganda (reagan, holocaust, a shred of a dress from 1910, whatever). so what if history gets jumbled thru the generations of killjoys like a fucked up game of telephone

killjoys dont know what these people are known for and thats the point! the rock? apparently he was a car salesman. taylor swift is now just a dogwalker who people liked because she had cool clothes. “you ever heard of obama? the one who sold cereal boxes and taught cooking?” they think ipod shuffles are government tech from the old days, worrying that it still might play BLI fact news if u turn it on. ppl go 8c for a fucking Justin Bieber CD. Vin Diesel was a therapist. someone’s got a whole theory that disneyland was BLI's original headquarters. "Space Mountain was a secret weapon test from BLI.” someone pulls out a Mousekat sticker and slaps it next to a old fucking Mickey Mouse poster and goes “see?? see that shit? SAME FUCKIN EARS.” we have katy perry being a swimmer. a Hot Wheels car? kids ask if thats what cars looked like, undecorated and boring instead of what they have now.

a tattered Vogue magazine? traded for five carbons in Zone 4 for the glossy pages alone. someone wallpapered their van with old photos of paris hilton and swears she was the president of ireland.
