Sweet Pea x reader (Sort of, I guess..)
A/N: My first fic request, yay!!
Requested by Anonymous:
In that case can I request one where the reader is a close friend of Jugheadâs and Bettyâs from the northside, and sheâs a bad girl and looked down upon by the other northsiders, and when she meets Toni, Sweet Pea and Fangs she steals Sweet Peaâs brass knuckles without any of them noticing and only gives them back before she leaves when Jughead tells her to when she tries to sneak off with the brass knuckles, and Toni and Fangs expect Sweet Pea to get angry but he just laughs and finds it funny?
âââ
You and Jughead made your way to Popâs where you were meeting with his friends for burgers and milkshakes. The two of you always traveled together, even while you didnât live on the same side of the tracks you always seemed to be together. The truth was that you hated walking around alone, both outside and inside public spaces.Â
Everyone from school seemed to hate you since, according to them, you lived on the wrong side of the tracks, and outside people looked down on you because âYou looked like you were from the South side and acted like you were from there as well.â
Everyone looked down on you because you didnât fit into the perfect picture that was the North side of Riverdale. And even now, on your way to hang around with others, those people were only Jugâs friends. And to them as well, you were just Jugâs friend. None of them had tried to make an attempt to talk to you or involve you in the conversation so you just sat there, only listening what Jug added to the conversation, slowly getting enough of it.
âIâm heading outside for a minute, jug.â You said as you got up, taking you pack of cigarettes from your bag, taking one and placing it between your lips on your way out.
Halfway through your cigarette, a group of people on motorcycles pulled up and parked near you. Two guys in leather jackets and a girl with pink streaked hair, all walking right up to you which was kind of scary? maybe? At least until one of them spoke.
âHey, you have a lighter?â The smaller guy asked, holding up an unlit cigarette. âSmartass here lost his again.â The girl said with a smirk.
You smiled at the girl punching the guy on the shoulder and you held up your lighter and lit the boyâs Cigarette. âThanks, ehmm..â
âI go by Greenie.â You replied quickly. âFangs.â He said.
âGreenie. Because of the green eyes?â The taller one spoke. âIâm Sweet Pea.â âToni!â said the girl, shoving between her two taller companions to join the circle.
In these few minutes, these people had treated you better than the kids back inside the diner had in the half hour you had been sitting with them.
The four of you ended up sitting on the steps of the diner, chatting about all kinds of things and you hadnât felt so welcome in a long time.
âSo how come weâve never seen you before at school?â Sweet Pea asked and the others agreed with the question, they all were curious.
âI go to Riverdale High, sadly. I live on the North side.â This surprised all of them and they stared at you in disbelief.
âYeah, yeah I know. "But I look and act like a South sider.â right?â You said in a sarcastic tone.
You all sat there, talking about your bullshit situation for so long that eventually the others walked outside to head home again. It slowly started getting darker outside already after all, itâs just that you hadnât noticed it yet before your attention got pulled away from the leather clad kids. Archie walked in front of the group, not watching his step at all and kicked Sweet Pea in the back as he walked past. causing him to jump up and grab Archie by the collar of his jacket and almost throwing him back.
"You for real, Andrews? Trying to get your ass beat again?â Their friends were all at both their sides within seconds. The North siders trying to hold back Archie from being dumb, and the South siders backing up their friend as they promised when they joined the Serpents. You were on no oneâs side, watching from the sidelines and saw Sweet Pea put his hands in his pockets. Taking them out again you spotted that brass knuckles now decorated his hand.
"Sweet Pea.â You called. "Just let them walk, theyâre not worth it, remember?â You stepped towards him and stopped only when you were right in front of him, looking him in the eyes and taking his hands in yours.
âSweet Pea, donât.â You shifted his hands in yours.
âIf anyone sees you hurting him here,â You wrapped your fingers around the brass knuckles he wore on one hand, fidgeting with the ring on the other.
âYouâre the one whoâs gonna get in trouble.â You slipped the Brass knuckles off his fingers in a swift move, but kept some of your fingers intertwined.
âJust let them walk away.â You kept your hands there long enough for them to leave, long enough for his focus to to back to his friends and away from the fight.
By now you had snuck the Brass knuckles in your sleeve and Jughead had joined you. He staid behind to hear the details on your new friends.
You were seriously confused when Toni greeted Jug like a friend and soon you learned these were the younger Serpents he had told you about once.
But now you had to admit you were lowly starting to crave that milkshake you didnât order before, so you suggested youâd continue the chat inside.
All of you got into a booth with your orders and enjoyed Popâs delicious food and drinks, talking about how the others had met Jug and telling Jug how they ran into you today until you got a text from your mom reminding you that you wouldnât be home late tonight.
You sadly said your goodbyes and got up to leave, as Jug grabbed your sleeve, preventing you from walking out.
âIâd give it back.â He pointed at your sleeve. âIf he finds out, youâre dead.â
You got three confused Serpents staring your way as you fidgeted Sweet Peaâs brass knuckles out of your sleeve and carefully handed them back.
Two out of three stares went from confused to terrified in seconds, no one ever took something from Sweet Pea without getting hurt, but their terrified stares quickly turned towards Sweets as he let out a soft laugh.
âDid he just?â
âI think he did.â The other Serpents couldnât believe what just happened.Â
âIâm impressed, kid.â He laughed again.
âBut Jones here was right.â His tone went from nice to dead serious.
âIf you hadnât given it back and I found out you took it, youâd be dead.â He just went from pretty cute to pretty scary and you were glad Jughead made you give the brass knuckles back.
He saw the fear in your eyes and burst out in laughter again, nodding his head. âIf I wanted to hurt you for stealing my things, I wouldâve already, the second you pulled this from your sleeve.â He smiled and winked.
âNow get your ass out of here before you mom gets pissed.â You nodded in agreement, said goodbye again and walked off blushing like crazy.
Maybe you should take his stuff more often.
