Hey, my name is Milo! My pronouns are they/she, I’m a college student currently studying ecology and conservation biology. I’ll probably mostly just be posting my thoughts plus some writings and art once in a while.

Need to share the most insane antique shop find of my life so far, a first edition American copy of The Return of Sherlock Holmes from 1905. I paid 20 dollars for it. Genuinely thought I was being pranked when I found it and saw the price tag

Mad today that we live in a world where not enough people listen to Audio drama. Was listening to Agent Stoker and the dude is trying to find a new technologically-minded Night Brigade partner, and my dumb brain is lighting up, because my dude! John Carnack Department-of-Midnight is right there!! And could really use a therapist and a gimlet!!!

And then I cry with the realization I might be the only damn person to have listened to both of these obscure podcasts, sob sob orz

So you don't need to make Watson abled in order to have him 'keep up' with Holmes btw, he did that just fine with his limp throughout the entirety of the novels

One of the finest and most beloved Watsons ever to grace the screen has passed away. David Burke was 91 years old, just shy of his 92nd birthday, and he is survived by his wife Anna Calder-Marshall and his son Tom Burke.

By all accounts, he was a gentleman and a wonderful human being. He could have stayed on to play Watson much longer, which would have made many of us very happy, but he chose to leave the show to be nearer to his family, especially since Tom was very young at the time.

His was not the first intelligent and competent Watson, but this version marked a turning point in mainstream depictions, from comedic sidekick to a hero in his own right.

RIP, dear sir. You will be missed. Thank you for everything.
