It is with great sadness and deepest sympathy that I’m making this announcement on behalf of Poncho, Michael, and their entire family:

Poncho passed away at the veterinarian’s office on December 14, 2019. Cause of death is currently unknown.

Michael could really use some support right now, but is very overwhelmed. Poncho was incredibly beloved and her devastating loss will be felt throughout the community, the family, and of course with Michael at the epicenter. She was a beautiful, charming beardie who will be missed terribly.

If you want to send Michael a message of support, please note that while he might not respond, any kind words are appreciated. This is a very trying time for everyone involved. Michael is one of the most caring reptile owners I’ve ever met and sharing Poncho with us was an incredible gift.

We’ll miss you, Poncho.

Is it true that basenjis are crazy difficult to train?

They are intelligent but not obedient. They get bored with the same thing over and over. Mine can do basic tricks and Elliot was very good in obedience school until he got bored and made up his own routine lol. If you go into it expecting a retriever you will be disappointed. If you get one knowing they do their own thing you will laugh every day and will never be bored! 💜
