Okay so you want to see that stuff, I thought so and I really appreciate it!
But since my main blog is a mess, I think I'll make a sideblog for it. I will consider it but you will definetely get posts from me about the musicals I get to see. Might make an IG account for it, too.
I'm expierincing so many coincidences at one time!!
It all started googleing up Maria Aitken for research reasons.
I found she was in a show called "Poor Little Rich Girls" which exactly fits her A Fish Called Wanda role Wendy Leach (whose backstory I did the googleing for... fanfiction in process). So I wanted to know more about this show.
Only to find someone name Laurence was involved which is a funny coincidence because Wendy's father will be called Laurence...
But this show also had a character named
MADAME HARRIET
And guess who's also in A Fish Called Wanda?
JAMIE LEE CURTIS
To make things worse this all happened while I had "Ghost" by Ava Max playing, with the lyrics being
"Everywhere I go I'm haunted by a ghost"
And that was the moment I didn't believe in coincidences anymore. Not in this case.
Around the time "Disenchanted" came out, I watched a video about Queen Narissa on Youtube and found this comment under the video:
And a comment replying to this comment really made me put on my thinking cap:
And although I liked the theory and it all made sense to me, as well it really hit me like a lightning when I rewatched "Enchanted" recently. The signs had all been there, I had noticed them but this time I really realized them. And I thought: "Yes, of course! It all makes so much sense!"
Now let's have a closer look on it since I love theories:
1. Cars
Not only does she know what a car is, she also knows she has to stop them with her magic to not be run over. You can see on the picture she uses the crosswalk.
2. Melodramatic
She knows words like "melodramatic" that Edward doesn't seem to know (yet this could also be him just never heard of that word)
3. Interaction with people
Narissa knows she has to keep things low-key. When Giselle passed out after taking a bite from her poisened apple, Narissa tells everyone Giselle just fainted and tries to calm people down because she knows that's the most effective tactic to get away. Also she knows that the people from New York don't know magic so saying that Giselle fainted is easier to explain than poisened apples.
4. A land without happy endings
Narissa knows exactly what she's doing when she pushes Giselle down that wishing well. She knows it's not just gonna take her out of Andalasia but it'll also slowly "defairytalize" Giselle when she stays in the real world.
5. The two baddies
Everyone in Andalasia is well-meaning, kindhearted and a ray of sunshine. Everyone except... Nathaniel and Narissa! This is of course also because they are the villains, but still...
Speaking of Nathaniel.
Well, I think it's because he is from the real world, too! Narissa either brang him along or he came searching for her. That's why he hangs around her so much and is so loyal to her. They're from the same world. Literally.
And because he's insanely in love with Narissa.
Wooh, a lot to read! Now I think I'll gonna leave it for now. Let me know what y'all think about it!
This is an interesting theory. I can definitely see evidence for it, & I appreciate the thought you put into it.
Personally I headcanon that Narissa is from the live action world (I don’t want to call it “the real world” because within the setting of Enchanted, both New York City & Andalasia are equally real places), but Nathaniel is not.
Nathaniel’s naive attitude about love & his reaction to the soap opera, to me suggests unfamiliarity with “our” world. Nathaniel also didn’t know where the wishing well would send Giselle to, indicating to me that he didn’t come from the live action world, or else he would have used the portal before.
We see Narissa directs Nathaniel a lot. She probably showed him how to do stuff (for operating a phone or vehicle).
As for money, in an earlier version of the movie script, there is a scene where Nathaniel & Edward use gold, precious gems to pay to stay at the motel. That still fits with the final version of the movie, I’m assuming that occurred offscreen, that this was a cut scene.
For Nathaniel not being recognized as a non-employee, I think it’s the same way he keeps getting disguises & supplies out of nowhere (where did he get a food cart?). He actually blended into TWO different food places as a fake employee: the diner where he was with Edward & Pip, and then the Italian restaurant Robert, Giselle, Morgan, & Pip were at.
I think the ability to blend in as a fake employee, unquestioned, & keep pulling off disguises are just his superpowers/magical abilities, as a minion/henchman. The same way that Giselle is shown to have various magical abilities (most obvious are her ability to charm animals & lead an entire musical number that draws other people in, but she has subtler abilities as well), & even Edward as well (look at how Edward’s sword varies in sharpness according to need, & how the TV actually does respond to Edward’s questions).
I wanna see Bat Out Of Hell so badly... but the Oberhausen production closed years ago and it doesn't look like there's going to be another German production soon...
Shall I...
Look for slime turorials?
Travel to another production??
i'm sure there are some slime tutorials out there, but i don't know about a german one... maybe someone knows more than i do and wants to share? 👀
Parrot story: my father's neighbours used to have a pet parrot. Poor thing was so traumatized and stressed it started plugging its own feathers and pecked the child's hand with it's beak. They had to throw a blanket over the cage because everytime you lifted it the parrot would go nuts.
Sadly, I don't know what they did to the parrot in the end or how long it stayed after I last saw it.
