Last year, I turned 18. I was excited because I am now in the legal age, in short, I am not a child anymore.
Many things have changed, I have realized that I became more matured. I do not get easily fooled by the things I just heard, I have learned to listen and see. Both if it. I am not the teen who whines if her opinions got ignored. I am now fully aware of whats happening to my surroundings. And there, I realized that being young adult is quite difficult.
There are times that I just can’t help my mind to think about what I want in life. Who I really am? Who am I in other people’s eyes? What kind of life is this? Or am I meant to be here?
Coming of age is realizing that you are getting old to be relying on other people. You must learn how to get things up on your own. You are not a child anymore. You are now a grown up fetus. You must set goals, for yourself, for what you want your future to be. And by that, you will finally know what you want in your life.
Self-love is a must. There will come a time that you will be really doubtful about who you are. You will feel lost, not knowing the path you are taking. But if you learned to love yourself, no more doubts, you are you.
Does other people’s opinion matter? Some may consider this as a yes. But come to think of it, are they the one who will pursue your dreams? It is you and only yourself will be the one who will do it. Do what you want, reach your goals, do it with passion, as long as you don’t step on someone’s back.
Your life matters!!! It is you who make it what it is right now. No one can change your destiny except for yourself. You should chose what you think is the best for you. Do not settle for less.
Laslty, YOU ARE MEANT TO BE EXISTING IN THIS WORLD! You are an amazing human being. You are worth giving a life for! Cheer up, smile, and conquer the world! Being young adult is hard, but you just only have to appreciate what you have in life and by that, you’ll do good.
