Okay, here’s what’s happening. Saturday might be nothing -- Mary’s mom might keep her unavailable for the day. But Sunday, barring surprises, we’ll try to start streaming some Don’t Starve Together starting at noon PST. On a custom world set to be easier than default.

Okay so. What it looks like is going to happen with the charity event, is it’s going to get pushed to the 3rd of September.

There will still be a stream this weekend, but it will not be a 24h stream, and we won’t have charity donation links ready yet. We don’t know yet if we’ll be streaming on the 30th of July or the 31st. Possibly both. The stream(s) will probably start around noon PST.

I would like to again stress that the cause of these issues was both none of our faults, and nothing we could have done anything about.

We hope everyone else is having a better week than we are. :p

Things are looking hairy for our charity stream.

If it’s still on, we’ll probably be starting at 2pm PST instead of 8am PST.

We’re currently discussing our options, but the short notice is making things unsure.

I would like to emphasize that the cause of these problems was none of our faults, and was completely unforeseeable.

I really hope we still get to do this. I’ve already spent a ton of mental energy and was hoping to have enough fun to make it worth it, and maybe raise some money for a good cause or two.

It’s not his fault; something completely out of his control caused some rescheduling.

The event will still happen, but the first part of it will just be Mr. Son and Mary.

Charity stream

Our charity stream is planned to start on the 30th of July, at 8am. That’s less than ten days from this post!

We’ll actually be going live slightly before 8am, while I (Mr. Son) get things set up and ready.

Our planned charities are Extra Life and Special Effect. We do not yet have links ready for donations. Shaun is working on it.

During the stream we will be writing and building a small story-based adventure map. The stream will be from my (Mr. Son’s) perspective, and I will be joined be my fellow Creeper Lake University professors: Mary (@allthe-lights-inthe-sky​), and Shaun. There may be guest appearances by friends or family members showing up briefly to chat, but not join us in the game.

We will probably swear and include raunchy humor while chatting.

On Saturday July 30th Creeper Lake University is going to be holding a 24 hour live stream for charity. The planned start is at 8am PST, but that may change to 6am PST depending on the availability of our third member. Showing up early is probably a safe bet, as I plan to go live during set-up.

Our currently planned charities are Extra Life and Special Effect. We are still preparing donation pages to donate through. The plan is that the donation money will to straight to the charities in our name, so we never actually handle the money at any point.

I (Mr. Son) will be hosting the stream at the Creeper Lake University Twitch channel, and it will be from my viewpoint.

The event is the writing and building of a small Minecraft story adventure map. We’ve got some basic story events planned, but we’re saving the detail planning and all the building for the live stream. There will be three main participants (Mr. Son, Mary, and a third member who I haven’t yet asked which name he wants to be known by publically), and there is a small possibility of short-term guests popping into voice chat but not actually joining us in Minecraft.

Skyrim went on sale for under $7, so Mr. Son picked it up and finally gets to have a go at playing it. This isn't really a "Let's Play". While I am uploading it in case anyone is interested, I'm not really focusing on making entertaining viewing; I'm just playing how I normally would. So parts of this may be slow, and occasionally repetitive, and most certainly non-optimized. But if you just want to see me doofing off in the wilderness while chatting with Mary, this is the series for you. My apologies for the low resolution. I thought OBS was recording at a higher res than that. I've got a second episode recorded with these settings, and I didn't get a chance to fix it until episode 3, so expect a clearer picture then. Also, the sound quality is... not quality. I tried to fix that in ep 3 as well, but it's still pretty poor. This is a much more difficult issue than the resolution. I'll keep trying, though.

We logged Lalnable into the Kimmunity server again to build his presence, this time under Mary's control, and attracted the attention of the local self-appointed police force.

Yeah he's a vampire now. Mary did a lot of work levelling him up to max vampire status.
