Sora's hair is flatter in KH4 not just because of Quadratum's art style but because the spikes are Ventus's not his. as a baby before welcoming Ventus into his heart the top of his hair was flat like it is now. now that Ventus is no longer in his heart his hair goes back to its original style.

this isn't just nonsense I made up because Nomura once made a comment about Sora's hair color being lighter in KH2 because of Roxas which means my theory is totally canon. hearts do influence the way you look.

The four next pages of my Kingdom Hearts comic are finally here! And yes, I’m the most inconsistent art in History, that’s a fact. I changed the style yet again. Oopsie daisy. Buuut I had so much fun with these, so I’m not complaining. I mean, Riku being Sora’s guiding light?? SoRiku is my middle name, folks.

…does this need a spoiler alert tag? Also, at some point I will build a web or something where I will post all the pages, instead of only having them on social media. It should make things better, I guess.

Going back to part of my roots a bit to talk Kingdom Hearts:

Its somewhat fascinating that at the end of the Dark Seeker Saga, Sora, in the Final World, is just Sora. No one else.

He gave a part of his Heart to heal Ventus. His appearance was what shaped Vanitas. His body gave way to Roxas. His memories shaped Xion.

For the first time within Kingdom Hearts, Sora is just himself. No Ventus Roxas Xion to shape him and his feelings and his memories.

And some part of me wonders if this is why Yozora questions if Sora is really Sora. Because in truth, we haven't really been playing as just Sora. In KH1 its a combination of Sora and Ventus. KH2 onwards its Sora, Roxas, Xion, and Ventus. KH3 is where all of them are separate for the first time. And thus reality questions if the person in front of us is Sora.

Because in truth, outside of his child self, we don't know who a Sora unshaped by the Hearts in him really is.

Secret Ending Observations pt2

Part 1

The secret ending is jam packed with tons of symbolism. Another detail to look out for is the stoplights- green (or in Japan, called blue lights) for Riku, red for Sora (Remember, the name of the clip is “Yozora”, who has a blue eye and a red eye…).  In the first shot you see a green light on Riku’s side:

When Riku wakes up, he gasps and turns around quickly like he senses something.  The camera only shows a red stoplight, but this is Sora’s color.  Riku might be sensing Sora.

Sora has the same reaction, but you can only see the reflection of the green/blue light on the car (having trouble seeing/recognizing Riku’s light maybe, if the theme continues from KH3 with Sora not realizing the light is Riku yet)

It’s very deliberate: All of the stoplights in the background on Sora’s side are green, and all the stoplights on Riku’s side are red.

It’s like Sora says in DDD: “Don’t worry, he’s with me! Even when it might seem like he’s not.”  So close, but just out of reach.
