*Styles, stories, states of being, sights - Second Life* Crescent Tales began as a few friends who wanted to share photos taken in the game of Second Life. Then one of us wanted to make sure readers knew the locations where the photos were taken, so that players could visit those sims. And one of us wanted Crescent Tales to be all about fashion. She's the princess. One of us wanted it to be all about stories. She's the goblin. The other two are just nice, creative people who post when the whim takes them. The site is still in the process of coming together in a cohesive way, but it is here, now, for your enjoyment. Our fashion picks tend to focus on freebies and dollarbies and very good deals for outfitting your Second Life. We would love to hear from you! If you like us, heart us, or better yet, reblog us.

Question

Is there a way to embed video in a text post or photo post so that it plays in the dashboard? When we embed code in a post, what displays in the dashboard is a little silver permalink. If you read the post from the Crescent Tales page it displays properly. If we use the share button from YouTube, what displays is a colored rectangle referring the viewer to the video site. (A forwarding link appears on the Crescent Tales page, not the video.) We don't want to post a thumbnail in the dash representing the video. Is the the only way to get a video to actually appear in the dashboard to make it a separate video post?
