He should have known that it had something to do with that. He had taken notice of how people have been treating others like her, and he knew that it would only get worse. He bit the inside of his cheek, pondering how he could have responded to that. Dirk sighed, “Probably because of the meaning behind it, and knowing that people are getting killed because they have Muggle parents.” It was a brash statement, but it was the truth.
“---I don’t want to die, Dirk.” Addie couldn’t keep herself from sobbing as the words left her mouth. It was a genuine fear that sat with her every time the word was said. “If I knew having muggle parents meant this, I would have never left them. I could still have my family, but I wanted to see the wizarding world.”
He could tell that something really upset her as he got closer, and he wanted to know why she was crying all alone. Dirk plopped down, facing her. “Addie.” he said, tilting his head with an eyebrow raised. Did she really expect him to believe that? “You really need to work on your lying skills. Now, are you going to tell me what’s bothering you?”
Addie did everything she could to avoid eye contact as he sat across from her. Again she wiped her eyes, and took a deep breath. It wasn’t like she expected him to believe her, and maybe some part of her wanted him to stay and talk to her. “---Why does the word mudblood hurt so much?”
Deciding to that the common room was too loud to study, Dirk left the Ravenclaw Tower, not knowing where he was going or where he would end up. He had a lot on his mind, things that he had been putting off for awhile, and with the year halfway gone already, he realized that he should probably stop putting things on the backburner. He was so focused on the thoughts inside he almost didn’t hear someone crying. Dirk wasn’t one to do well with feelings, but based on the sound alone, he knew he had to do something. He turned the corner finding the person who was crying. “Addie? Are you alright?” He asked, stepping close to her.
Addie was startled by the sudden voice who said her name and asked if she was alright. She hadn’t expected anyone to find her, especially someone who she would call friend. As he turned the corner, and she heard her name, she wiped her eyes. “Dirk--- I’m-- I’m fine.” She wiped her eyes again, sitting upright.

So I know they’re not the best but here are some!
Mudblood. That word alone sent shivers down her spine, and being called one several times in two days, was almost too much for her to handle. After her last encounter with the word, she had run off someplace to clear her head. But as soon as she was alone, she couldn't hold back her tears. Just breathe, Addie. She had gotten used to people not caring.
“What? Mudblood? it’s what you are, isn’t it?”
“So I should go around calling you a bitch because that's what you are, isn't it?"
“You need help, Sestiva.”
🐍 ;; ᴀ : “something like what — mudblood? did that offend?”
( good. )
Clenching her teeth, Adaline pulled her wand from her robe, and pointed it directly at his face. "If you call me that one more time, I swear you'll be in the hospital wing for weeks."
