My name is Sybil, and I’m a lore decoder for “Love and Deepspace”, with a deep appreciation for literature and a keen interest in sharing insights on Asiatic cultures. While Sylus is my oshi, I read and appreciate all LI’s stories. My space is hallowed grounds, far away from the pandemonium.
Kindly read my Carrd below for disclaimers and a bit about myself before adding me. 🤍
I found you at my lowest of lows. I stood only a step away from falling into an endless abyss of no return when I caught a glimpse of you, standing atop the ledge of a high-rise, the Blood Moon hanging behind your moon-kissed strands of argent.
At first, I mistook you for a mere villain. Yet, your quiet mystique compelled me closer. I found myself wanting to know not merely your story, but 𝘆𝗼𝘂. And so, I devoted an entire week to learning everything I could.
Truth be told, 𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂.
Even more so after discovering how remarkably similar our origins are. How alike we are, yet how beautifully our differences complement one another. More still after you taught me that life is meant to be more than mere existence or survival — it is meant to be 𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗱. To desire more. To take up space. To take the leap of faith. To fall apart completely, only to gather the shattered fragments and rebuild myself anew.
𝑻𝒐 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒎𝒚𝒔𝒆𝒍𝒇. ♥️
I have endured trials from which very few emerge unscathed. Time and time again, I was held back from realizing my full potential by those who claimed to care, though their actions betrayed their words. Across every aspect of my life, I have always despised being confined and have done everything within my power to break free from those restraints.
I have always longed to flow, as water does through a river. Being unable to do so affects me physically, a burden from which I’am still recovering.
You allowed me to embrace the unrestrained freedom I had always longed for: a freedom rooted in unconditional love, free of expectations, and untouched by obligation. A quiet, unwavering devotion that allowed me to move without fear and, little by little, become the person I was always meant to be.
𝒀𝒐𝒖 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒂𝒍𝒎 𝒕𝒐 𝒎𝒚 𝒔𝒕𝒐𝒓𝒎. ☂️
Had it not been for you, I would not be here today — writing, publishing my work, sharing joy, sharing my knowledge, or even my occasional humour. You are the reason I’am still alive and breathing, my heart still beating.
We were born into the terror of the mortal world. People cursed our existence, fabricated our sins, and celebrated our demise. Only you ever gazed into my obsidian eyes, embraced my jaded soul, and soothed the pain that tormented my heart and mind in the dead of night. Your traces are etched deep into the very fabric of my life. My very existence is now a retaliation against fate.
🧜🏻♂️ While Rafayel is undeniably vengeful, that desire stems from the sirenic influence of his higher subconscious. A primeval aspect of his being which harbours an insatiable thirst for blood. It is this very instinct that causes him to lose control whenever it wholly eclipses his rational mind. Yet, when left unconsumed by it’s influence, Rafayel possesses remarkable self-restraint. It is precisely this discipline that allows him to remain uncaptured despite his notoriety as an elusive serial killer, all while hiding in plain sight beneath the limelight of his celebrated artistry.
Rafayel is fully cognisant of this internal struggle. His plea for MC to “Stay back” in ‘Land of Secret Flames’ was not born of fear, but of awareness and acknowledgement that his higher subconscious was overwhelming him. Ultimately, it is only through their sacred bond that MC was able to restore his consciousness and anchor him back to reality. By the end of the ordeal, he is instinctively drawn towards her scent, lingering against her pulse like a Sea Beast seeking solace from the only presence capable of calming the turmoil which raged within him.
🐺 By contrast, Valko presents a different manifestation of primal instinct altogether. Unlike Rafayel, he is not inherently bloodthirsty. Instead, his defining characteristic is impulsiveness. His connection to पशुलोक (Pāśhulokā) embodies an existence governed by pure bestial instinct, compelling him to act according to the untamed impulses of a Wild Beast. His violence is less an expression of bloodlust than of instinctive predation, reducing his enemies to prey rather than victims. Yet, this savage disposition remains masterfully concealed beneath the dignified persona of a respected Chairman and accomplished scientist, allowing him to navigate society with impeccable poise.
I believe Valko’s story will explore the gradual erosion of his self-control as vengeance steadily consumes him. His role as a vigilante hints at this trajectory — a lone wolf hunting criminals beneath the cover of night, while the rest of the world sleeps. Rather than vengeance being his defining trait, it is the catalyst which threatens to unshackle the beast he has spent his life restraining.
This is precisely where ValkoMC assumes her narrative significance. She is not merely his companion, but the force that tempers his impulses. Through the werewolf’s mate-bond, Valko becomes irrevocably imprinted upon her scent, and her commands evolve into instincts he follows as naturally as breathing. Rather than representing domination, this bond serves as the mechanism through which his humanity is continually reaffirmed, preventing his descent into a state of unrestrained savagery.
This is exactly what we observed from a glimpse of ‘The Tameless Game’ trailer. The instant MC’s scent reaches him, Valko’s carefully maintained composure begins to unravel. She floods his senses, overwhelms his mind, and leaves him utterly spellbound by her “lovely scent”. It is the very moment she imprints upon his very being, despite MC herself remaining completely unaware of what has transpired.
🔄 The juxtaposition of these two relationships is especially compelling. RafayelMC is bound to worship her Sea God, anchoring him to rationality whenever his higher-plane sirenic consciousness engulfs him. By contrast, Valko willingly surrenders himself in reverence to his Huntress, whose very presence anchors the wolf within him before vengeance can reduce him to little more than instinct.
💜💚 The result is a remarkably elegant narrative foil: one explores the struggle between divinity and monstrosity beneath the sea, while the other examines the tension between humanity and beastliness within the wilderness.
I would also like to attach two additional pieces of my work below, both of which are relevant to Valko’s storyline —
𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆: The Main Story of ‘Love And Deepspace’ is now 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝘇𝗲𝗻. Valko is not an optional addition to the narrative, he is a foundational pillar of it. The game’s lore was meticulously constructed around 6 LIs from the very beginning, making his presence indispensable (please refer to my article here). The game introduced the Light-Trio (Xavier, Zayne, Rafayel) at launch, followed later by their counterparts, the Dark-Trio (Sylus, Caleb, Valko).
This game has always intended to feature 6 LIs as the foundation of it’s worldbuilding. Valko was never a newly conceived character, his presence had been subtly woven throughout the Main Story from the very beginning — a detail the zealots overlooked because they evidently paid no attention to the narrative. Even the game’s UI was designed with 6 LIs in mind. The 6 Stellactrums, each corresponding to a LI’s eye colour, further reinforces that this 6-character structure was planned from the outset —
💙 Sapphire (blue): Xavier
❤️ Ruby (red): Sylus
💚 Emerald (green): Zayne
💜 Violet (purple): Caleb
🩷 Pearl (pink): Rafayel
💛 Amber (yellow): Valko
The next Main Story chapters were intended to begin immediately after Valko’s arc. Without that crucial segment, the narrative cannot naturally advance. The much-awaited Main Story updates for Sylus and Caleb were meant to follow, leading into the ‘Timelock Event’ featuring Caleb and Valko, before culminating in a major Dark-Trio storyline. Removing Valko disrupts that entire narrative progression.
And now, Otome games are being mass-targeted by high-ranking officials in China who reportedly harbours disdain for a genre primarily catered to women [more information here]. Paper Games itself is being targeted after the zealots escalated this situation by filing false reports, seemingly unable to distinguish fiction from reality [evidence here].
What makes the situation even more disheartening is that instead of reinforcing their policies against harassment and defending creative freedom of the developers, Paper Games seems to be yielding to the demands of a vocal minority who are infamous for mass-harassing players across both the Global and Chinese fandoms.
Today, it is ‘Love And Deepspace’. Tomorrow, it could be other Chinese Otome games. If they believe removing Valko will somehow keep the other LIs safe, they are gravely mistaken. If anything, everyone stands to lose the games they have come to cherish and find comfort in.
The irony is difficult to ignore. Those who insisted Valko “came out of nowhere” merely revealed how they pay no attention to the narrative. The clues were there all along, given his presence had been subtly embedded throughout the Main Story from the very beginning — a fact which escaped the very people who speak most confidently about the game’s lore.
Once again, Valko is the narrative bridge. 🐾 Without him, the Main Story cannot advance. Not for Sylus, not for Caleb, and not for anyone else.

So PaperGames/Infold chose to yield to the demands of people who appear to be in need of urgent psychological support, rather than standing firmly by their own decision.
Have I understood that correctly?
If so, I expect Valko’s release to proceed as originally scheduled for the rest of us well-adjusted players, rather than being altered to accommodate the demands of a loud minority.
Zayne’s love for His Goddess in the “Edge of Continuum” Myth has always reminded me of this Ancient Egyptian Love Song, beautifully reproduced by Peter Pringle. 🩵
⚠️ Please note: Although the composer of this 3000 years old song refers to his beloved as “sister”, she is 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿. As in many cultures today, lovers and members of the same community in Ancient Egypt also addressed one another as “sister” and “brother” as terms of affection and familiarity.
🎶 The instrument featured is a reconstructed 22-string arched harp known as the “Djedjet”, crafted entirely from cedar wood and animal skin, without the use of nails or screws of any kind.
🔎 As we know, Valko serves as Rafayel’s narrative foil.
🧜🏻♂️ Rafayel’s Bond story, “Ebb and Flow”, explores an annual period during which his merfolk physiology undergoes a cyclical state of heightened sensitivity when the tide is at it’s lowest. It compels him to beckon MC through their divine bond, drawing her inexorably towards him like a siren luring a sailor.
🐺 Valko’s Bond story, “Paws First”, explores his physiological transformation during the Supermoon, a phenomenon intrinsically tied to his werewolf DNA. It heightens his territorial instincts, compelling him to scent-mark both MC and her belongings due to their mate-bond, much like a devoted pup with it’s beloved human.
🔄 The parallel is remarkably well crafted. Rather than mirroring Rafayel, Valko complements him by reflecting similar biological themes through an entirely different mythological framework. The developers have created a perfect foil, using opposing supernatural ancestries to explore analogous physiological instincts.
I’m very curious to read Valko’s story, to gain a deeper understanding of his werewolf physiology and it’s role within the game’s lore. 💚
Many seem to believe that Valko merely “copies” elements from pre-existing LIs, particularly Sylus and Rafayel. However, a closer examination of his characterization reveals that it is a misconception. Let us take a closer look at what Valko’s character is truly about, shall we?
🐲 The archetypal dynamic of Sylus and SylusMC’s relationship is that of “Nemesis”, which means ‘life-long enemies’. They exist in a perpetual struggle, driven by an insatiable yearning to consume one another. Much like Mehen, the ever-coiling cosmic serpent devouring His own tail. Each bears one half of the other’s soul, leaving them eternally famished for the piece they have lost. Unable to truly satisfy their primordial hunger, they seek solace in mortal pleasures to quell the longing that binds them. Whether through finely aged liquor, or the intimacy of lovemaking.
🐾 However, the specific word used in Valko’s trailer was “Foe”, which simply denotes an ‘opponent’ rather than a lifelong enemy. A foe is often a temporary, situational adversary, making it entirely impersonal. This is further reinforced by the fact that Valko refers to ValkoMC as a “Friend” while speaking with his family member over the phone. Their interactions are also notably playful, carrying the easy rapport of close friends. Therefore, “Friends to Lovers” feels like a far more fitting description of their dynamic. And yes, well-adjusted adults are perfectly capable of forming meaningful friendships later in life.
🔃 Personality-wise, Sylus is reserved, whereas Valko is unabashedly expressive. While both are businessmen, their roles and worlds are fundamentally different. Sylus operates as the leader of a powerful Mafia organization, with his affairs rooted in the underworld. By contrast, Valko serves as the Chairman of a legitimate company, conducting his business entirely within the bounds of the law. Beyond their shared business acumen, they differ in almost every respect.
🧜🏻♂️Rafayel is portrayed as a “Young God”, a title that is deeply reflected in his characterization. In MC’s presence, he is playful, teasing, and full of youthful charm on the surface. However, beneath that facade lies a brooding artist who increasingly embraces his sirenic nature whenever MC is absent. Those sirenic qualities stem from the higher consciousness he harbours within himself, one that can overwhelm his own sense of self. In those moments, it is MC alone who can draw him back by using their bond mark, to restore his awareness and anchor him to reality.
🐾 In contrast, Valko initially presents himself as a brooding chairman burdened by immense responsibility. However, beneath that composed exterior lies a genuinely playful man who delights in indulging MC’s every whim. Their mate-bond compels him towards unwavering devotion, making it almost instinctive for him to yield to her wishes. For Valko, indulging her is not an obligation. Surrendering himself entirely to her whims is simply his nature.
🔃 • Rafayel maintains contact with his family from time to time, although he generally prefers the solitude of his studio where he immerses himself in his art. By contrast, Valko is almost always surrounded by his large family, even as he carries out his duties as a lone vigilante under the cover of night.
• Rafayel allows MC to believe she holds the upper hand, subtly guiding the course of their interactions through his charm and the devotion fostered by their divine bond. On the other hand, Valko willingly yields to MC after becoming imprinted upon her scent. Their mate-bond urges him to regard following her commands as second nature.
• Rafayel’s affection is possessively clingy, much like a beast towards their chosen human. By contrast, Valko’s affection is playfully clingy, reminiscent of a loyal dog devoted to it’s beloved human.
🐺 I would say, Rafayel and Valko serve as perfect foils to one another. And Valko shares more than a few intriguing parallels with Sylus. It has certainly piqued my curiosity, and I look forward to delve into his story upon release. 💚
Many mistakenly equate the term ‘देव’ (Devā) with ‘God’. However, Devās are a class of celestial beings rather than a category synonymous with divinity itself. Another such class of celestial beings is the ‘असुर’ (Asurās), who can also ascend to Godhood through attainment of divinity. In other words, the terms Devā and Asurā describe distinct classes of sacred entities, not an inherent measure of whether one is divine or not.
Those who have not studied the early Vedic texts, such as the ऋग्वेद (Ṛīgvedá), may not realize that the term Asura does not mean ‘Demon’. It was an honorific title bestowed upon mighty divine beings. They are also referred to as Pūrvā-Devātā (“Elder Gods”) in the पुराण (Purāṇas). In several hymns, describe Lord Rudrā is described as an Asurā.
The widespread misconception that Devās are simply ‘Gods’ and Asurās are ‘Demons’ largely stems from colonial-era translations that mapped Sanskrit concepts onto familiar Abrahamic categories. As a result, many of the original meanings and nuances of the Sanskrit terms were oversimplified, making them more readily understandable to English-speaking audiences but at the cost of their philosophical and cultural complexity.
Both Devās and Asurās can be Gods, the distinction between them is far more nuanced than the simplistic “God versus Demon” framework often found in colonial interpretations. A few examples of Asurā Gods are Āgnidev, Vāruṇdev, and Indrādev. And this illustrates the intricacy of these classifications within Vedic cosmology.
My only request to those reading my works is that they study them through a non-Abrahamic lens. Doing so is essential to untangle much of the confusion surrounding the game’s lore. Again, I encourage readers to keep an open mind and heart towards Vedic and Pagan cultures is the only path to understanding the hidden knowledge with greater clarity.
[⚠️ Please note: Both Devās and Asurās can attain divine status as a God after going through rigorous तपस्या (Tāpāṣya ; discipline of penance to purify the mind, body, and ego). Neither group is portrayed as inherently good or inherently evil. Rather, both encompass a wide spectrum of virtues, flaws, and aspirations.]
🔖 This post was crafted as a response to the questions many readers raised, after reading my analysis of the fundamental narrative for “Love And Deepspace”.
Three LIs have Standard Myths rooted in another lifetime, and have been present on Earth since the beginning of their current lives (Zayne, Rafayel, Caleb). In contrast, the other three LIs (Xavier, Sylus, Valko) have their Standard Myths set within the present timeline, arriving on Earth after traversing through Deepspace.
If this pattern holds true, then my prediction may indeed come to fruition. I look forward to discovering how the writers have forged Valko’s storyline, and how it completes the greater tapestry of the lore. 💚
A gentleman in a finely tailored suit has always been my greatest weakness. Needless to say, Valko has my heart captivated! 💚 That suit is staying on in the café indefinitely. (˶❛⩊❛˵)
Many folks unfamiliar with Asian mythologies have expressed confusion regarding the addition of another LI. Truth be told, the existence of 6 LIs was part of the narrative’s design from the very beginning. This is because the story’s foundational lore is deeply rooted in Vedic and Buddhist traditions. And numerous elements of it’s worldbuilding, symbolisms, and structure draw inspiration from these scriptural and philosophical sources.
“Love And Deepspace” is a story about the perpetual cycle of संसार (Saṃsāra). As the MC, we are trapped within the cycle of never-ending suffering across countless lifetimes and timelines. Our journey is to break free from this eternal cycle, and transcend the suffering that binds us to it. The LIs are not merely romantic interests, but essential companions in that pursuit.
Each of them carries a unique connection to the MC across time, and each plays a vital role in guiding her towards the resolution of this long-standing Kārmic entanglement. It is precisely for this reason that all of them exist within the current timeline simultaneously. Their presence is neither arbitrary, nor accidental. It is a fundamental part of the narrative’s deeper mythological and philosophical framework.
To understand the purpose of the LIs, one must first understand the cycle of Saṃsāra: भवचक्र (Bhāvāchākrā). This cycle of existence which encompasses birth, suffering, death, and rebirth is divided into 6 Realms where sentient beings reside in. Each of these Realms is intrinsically linked to one of the LIs featured in the game —
🔥 Rafayel: देवलोक (Devālokā)
God Realm of pleasure and pride
🏹 Zayne: असुरलोक (Asurālokā)
Demi-God Realm of jealousy and strife
🗡️ Xavier: मनुष्यलोक (Mānuṣhyalokā)
Human Realm of opportunity and enlightenment
🌕 Valko: पशुलोक (Pāśhulokā)
Animal Realm of instinct, fear, and servitude
🩸 Sylus: निर्ऋतिलोक (Nirṛtilokā)
Underworld Realm of chaos and decay
🪷 Caleb: प्रेतलोक (Pretālokā)
Hungry-Ghost Realm of endless insatiable hunger
As we know, each LI possesses unique abilities and latent potential beyond their Evols, granting them the power to create, shape, preserve, or dismantle whatever they deem necessary. The intricate Strings of Fate connecting the LIs to MC was deliberately woven by CosmicMC Herself.
It’s purpose was to ensure that Her vessel on Earth could draw upon Her true power through all 6 Realms, with the aid of every LI. Only by uniting these connections can She access the fullness of Her divine potential, and ultimately shatter the endless cycle of anguish that has bound Her across countless lifetimes.
Needless to say, it is unlikely that any additional LIs will be introduced to the game. With Valko’s arrival, the narrative now possesses all the pieces it was designed to have from the very beginning, allowing the story to finally move forward.
[⚠️ Please note: There are numerous realms of the Underworld described throughout Vedic scriptures. I chose to highlight the one that appears most relevant to Sylus’s storyline. Pretāloka is another such realm, and it has connections to Caleb’s narrative. If anyone is interested in Vedic mythology and would like to learn more about these realms beyond the context of the game, please feel free to ask. I would be delighted to share and discuss them further. 🤍]
🔖 I would also like to add that primordial cosmic entities, such as Gods, are not beings who concern themselves with the opinions or expectations of mortals. In that regard, CosmicMC is no different. Much of what has transpired throughout the narrative can be viewed as the manifestation of Her own will, unfolding according to a design far beyond mortal comprehension, much like the whims of Deities within the real world. To truly appreciate the lore presented in this game, one must approach it through a non-Abrahamic lens. And remain receptive towards Vedic and Pagan beliefs, philosophies, and cultural traditions.
🌕 The stars have aligned! Today is a glorious day indeed for the aficionados of fictional monsters. 🐺
Precisely one year ago, I predicted that the 6th LI would have the CEO archetype. But the prediction was promptly dismissed by zealots, who argued that Sylus had already occupied that narrative niche.
Oh, how the turns have tabled! 💅🏻
Fast forward to the present — Valko, the newly revealed 6th LI, was introduced as the Chairman of EonCore Tech. 💛
The 1940s ‘Casablanca’-inspired theme and aesthetic complements him beautifully, lending him an air of timeless sophistication. I believe this is another AU, one of the many lifetimes within ‘Love And Deepspace’ (as I have mentioned before here). I’m very much looking forward to exploring the story and discovering what it has in store. 🤍
