Violet Ruffle is a goth seamstress trying to sew shut a deep sense of emptiness. She's Bitsy's unwilling babysitter, but she'll soften up eventually.
Bitsy Baby is an always-hungry, too creative, nonverbal child who just showed up needing care. They're their own biggest problem... but they'll grow and figure it all out.
Liberius Bookworm is a tall librarian keeping his books tidy, unlike his own old mind. He's Bitsy's kind-hearted teacher, and he'll learn a lot as well.
They're inspired by Jim Henson's works and Welcome Home.
I've been designing faces and bodies for the lovers of an original verse I'm calling "The Crimson Courtship", where demons, angels and humans discover that even though blood is might and power, it is also love.
In order, they are:
Abdiel is an eager, devout angel guardian battling the effects of love.
Vani is a retired knight with a restless commitment to Matrii, thus being her main assistant.
Hedius is a fallen angel and a crime lord working with Matrii to guard her Court.
Matrii is a desired mistress of unending love, queen of the Court of Petals, her pleasure house.
Dorothea is a two-faced saint princess that thought she could only care about herself.
Lucille is a perfected, enlightned and perturbed witch, she can do any wonder related to hemomancy.
Luciel is an obedient, adorable pet, a wonderful gift created for Matrii.
You can see them in full on X.
I love drawing Julie so much, she's kind of become my favorite out of the cast!! Thanks to her my art has improved, but that doesn't mean Wally didn't help either!
I'll also post a version just blank and without a background so you are free to color it yourselves!! And feel free to tag me in your results!
Alright alright, you know me…It's time for another theory regarding Wally and Julie relationship~
Right under this, here we go again…
Oh boy, this is gonna be long…
As always, this is just a theory/headcanon and it's connected to the update from the 11/29.
This is straight up an Appleblossom theory (with a side of FranklyDear) so you're warned before continuing reading this.
Probably going to sound crazy but people know how much I am into this ship so enjoy my madness once again~
Let's cut the charade and let's go to the point:
🍎 Julie and Wally were a couple before the show started 🌸
There was always something that bugged me with Julie's house design. It has a lot of hearts shapes aside from the flowers: the windows, the bushes, the trees in the back, the entrance carpet as well and of course the big heart over the roof.
In Julie's room, this pattern continue even further: her bed have flowers on the top of the legs but the bed headboard have heart shapes carved in it, she have a heart pillow on it as well and the drawer of her vanity have a little heart as the handle.
Plus, the window reflect the heart shape right on the flower carpet in the middle of the room, overlapping each other.
Hearts are, of course, used in other places around the Neighborhood since they are part of the designs. Seeing them around doesn't mean that Wally is involved in them (for example, Barnaby have hearts on his paws and there are hearts on Poppy's window) but I find it very odd to see so many in Julie's home.It could all just be a coincidence but at this point it feels a bit too much to be just a random choice of design: Flower is Julie's symbol, Wally's symbol is the Heart.
I think it COULD hint that Wally and Julie were a couple and they were living together for a while before the show started OR before Frank was introduced in it.
We have further confirmations that the puppets are sentient and they really are actors in the production of Welcome Home show, I am still debating if puppeteers are present in this but with the latest reveals doesn't really fit the narrative (for now).
Another little thing to add is the suspicious name in the url: our-home.
Why is "our" used in the context of Julie's home? "Our Home" could be a hint for a past relationship as well.
🌸 Bound to be 🦋
Frank an Julie do care about each other deeply but they are not in love with each other romantically.
They are best friends nonetheless but they are forced to be in a couple for the sake of the since Julie is the cheerful one and Frank is the grumpy one. Plus, they have very good chemisty with each other.
We saw how far Frank would go for Julie, but he has romantic feelings towards someone else: Eddie.
What was mostly speculations was basically confirmed with the last update and I do believe they were a couple before as well or that they were at least developing feelings for each other.
In my opinion, Ron (the creator of WH) couldn't (or wouldn't) put these two together considering the time when WH was airing (1969-1974), TV would not allow any kind of queerness and gay relationships were a big no, so the erasure was inevitable.
Either way if it was for his artistic choice forced on the characters, placing Frank with Julie would lead to Julie cutting her relationship with Wally or hiding it and same goes with Frank and Eddie.
Sweet Lavender show how much conflict Frank have: he's picturing Eddie in Julie's place, he's mad because Eddie doesn't remember him and Julie cut the kiss off when she sees his face.
🌸 Julie's misplaced feelings ❤︎
Let's think about something for a second. Back in April I made another theory about Julie meeting Wally first instead of Frank. A line on the website "News" push for this even further
"It’s possible that Frank’s existence was ended early in the show’s run or his character had been introduced later on when creative changes took place."
If this is true, how is it possible that Julie have met him first when she arrived in the Neighborhood? Her memories are misplaced and I think her feelings are as well.
She's forced together with Frank because the show require it, for some reason all of their memories are kinda all over the place and they can't remember things properly.
I do believe that is possible that Julie was in love with Wally but something caused her memories to get all mixed up and she doesn't even remember him as her lover anymore.
Wally does remember it and he's trying, in his own way, to make her remember as well.
Well, that's it. I wanted to talk more about other things but this is already too long as it is :') This was fun to work on and I think I am gonna indulge in this theory again in the future…
Aside from ships and theories it was another beautiful update and I am LOVING the Welcome Home project so much!
Awww man I didn't draw Welcome Home for quite a time aww silly me ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ
Two different art styles lol but I love them both!!
Also I dont know why theres a "romantic" thingy between Julie and Frank? And I dont even know if it is romantic or just silly roleplay by them. Sooo lets just say that I see all that as a platonic play 💖
Also I just want to address that I dont mind what Clown will cook with their characters I always adore their work!!!¡!!✨
But I had such a good time drawing them together :³ I love those storybooks💛💛💛
And Wally, wheres Wally I want more Wally sjjsnskdkdnskfodosjjsjsidosksjdn also plushies so many new cute plushies omg but I already have my Wally so I'll skip this one :p
My last video (the Welcome To Derry intro parody one) blew up everywhere! And I'm, of course, thankful to you all!
I'm aware many folks wanted to take a closer look at the art, take in all the details, so I decided to post the different scenes here, in a single blog, for your enjoyment!
