When It Gets Cold I'll Be Yours || Lucian & Alice (Christmas Event)
After dealing with the spoiled brat, there was only one thing Lucian wanted to do - see Alice. The other Executives were fine, when they weren't being complete and utter miscreants, but the red-haired Executive loved spending time with Alice. She was the only person in Team Rocket that genuinely made him smile and at this time of the year, he wanted to celebrate with her. Loving Christmas as much as he did, Lucian wanted to spend it with someone who he knew would appreciate it.
The masquerade party the Rocket Executives had found themselves at was filled with anyone who was anyone from all regions of the world. Famous trainers, breeders, contest beauties, you name it. All of them were there with Christmas spirit in tow. The atmosphere alone gave Lucian something to smile about. It was a relief to be at a celebration without having to try and figure out which one of these higher ups would be the worth most as a hostage.
Making his way through the crowd, Lucian made his way over to the bar where Alice was sitting alone, looking gorgeous as usual. "Why hello there. Fancy seeing you here my dear" he said with a coy grin.
That's How The Cookie Crumbles || Lucian & Chaz (Christmas Event)
All the Executives had come to Praginue City courtesy of Giovanni himself. Lucian was the only one that didn't seem to be surprised. After the boss had made his announcement, he'd quickly left and the looks of shock on the Executives faces were quite the opposite of the red-haired Executive. "Even Giovanni can be nice for one time of the year. Now close your mouths. You're catching flies" he said with a smirk. He knew Gio was really a big soft-- He thought too soon as seconds later he was called into the boss's office and received his orders. Once again he was dealing with that spoiled brat Quartermane. How tedious. he had to handle the exchange of the boy back to his parents in return for the ransom money. He hadn't dealt with such irritating matters as ransom since his days at a grunt.
But nonetheless, here he was, in the hotel in Praginue City, where the Christmas Ball was being held. Sitting down at a table with the immature dolt, Lucian checked his watch. 7.45 pm. The runt's parents had no more than 15 minutes to show up or they'd never see the whelp again. A sizeable percentage of this ransom had better be going towards the Executive's research or he would not be best pleased.
Christmas was one of the few times of the year where Lucian wouldn't have to be dragged away from his research. He loved celebrating Christmas. The decorations, the festive spirit, the parties. But most of all he got to spend time with a certain blue-haired Executive who made delightful cookies. But instead he was stuck babysitting this little unappreciative brat until his Sudowudo up their back sides parents showed up with the ransom money.
He looked at his watch again. Five minutes to go. Where were these fools?
Held For Ransom || Chaz & Lucian
As the covering came off, Chaz was met face to face with a man not so much older than himself, if not younger. He stared at him with fear, his lips quivering and his body trembling. The crimson haired man simply stared back, almost coyly; like he wanted to toy with the little rich boy in hopes of getting what he desired. At least, this is what it seemed like to the mind of a frightened, beaten pulp.
With adrenaline kicking in, Chaz began to roar out; “Who are you?! What is it you want with m-!!” Silence then fell upon him as his lips collided with the slow touch of his hushing finger. He couldn’t help himself BUT to keep quiet. He leaned himself back as he saw the interrogator reach to a paper bag, already fearing his demise is close at hand. His shuts his eyes tight, waiting for the gun to blow a hole in his pretty little head… but instead…
“Chocolate chip?”
He pried an eye open to find man gleaming with an alluring and friendly smile presenting a cookie to his face. He couldn’t believe his eyes; a cookie?! A FRIGGIN’ COOKIE?! What joke were these maniacs playing?! To think they’d want him to eat something they give him and not expect some backlash for the previous acts committed. In a vagrant anger, he flings one of his legs up and attempts to kick the cookie from his hand, down right refusing it. With a further insult to injury, he spits a bloody spray towards the man, smacking him dab on the cheek with some blood.
“You violent fools! You expect me to just pretend nothing has happened here?! Who are you?! What do you want?! Where’s my Mightyena! I demand answers, you wretched, barbaric villians!!”
Adrenaline rush can be both a brilliant and a terrible thing sometimes… take a guess at which one this is.
At the boy's actions, Lucian's expression became firm. It seemed the spoiled brat wasn't going to comply with the good cop attitude. More drastic measures would have to be taken. Taking a handkerchief from his jacket pocket, Lucian wiped the blood from his cheek. This foul little wretch needed to be taught a lesson. Dropping the handkerchief to the ground, the Rocket Executive raised his right hand and gave the hostage a backhand slap across the right cheek, causing the rich boy to yelp.
"That was one of the cookies Alice made for me. I will not have her loving care treated with such disrespect. Now are you quite finished having your silly little tantrum? Think carefully before answering, that is if you want to see your mongrel again" Lucian said coldly, referring to the boy's Mightyena.
"Good. Now as I'd imagine, you're here because of your wealth. If your family of aristocratic buffoons wants to see you again, they will be required to pay a large ransom to us. Do I make myself clear?" With no response from the boy, the Rocket Executive decided full on intimidation was required. Taking a Pokéball from his jacket, he brought out his mighty Hydreigon. The Dragon-Type Pokémon snarled at the brat, striking fear into the welp.
"If you fail to co-operate, Phantom here hasn't had lunch yet, and there's nothing he likes more than a rich boy roast with a side order of mangy pooch. The choice is yours."
If you could have picked any Pokemon (Legendaries excluded of course) to be your very first which one would you have picked? Why?
"No one but my dear Phantom of course! Even when he was a little Deino he always has had my back and I wouldn't wish for any other Pokémon as my first!"
Boxers or briefs?
"Personally I find briefs far too restricting."
Held For Ransom || Chaz & Lucian
Only the taste of blood is present.
Chaz lifts his head, his right cheek in pain.
Darkness. Nothing can be seen. He can feel some fabric against his face. Must be a bag or something over his head.
How did all this happen? Last thing Chaz could remember was walking with his Mightyena in the pristine streets of Goldenrod, just when the night had set upon the land. Taking a rather luxurious vacation from the rabble of high society life, he decided to make his way to Johto to make his escape. He has made a home for himself in Goldenrod, surprisingly enjoying the bustling lifestyle it has. It reminded him of Slateport back home.
Little did he expect to be assaulted; having been grabbed and dragged into an alleyway by two attackers, he was brought to a rather painful silence as he remembers being beaten across the head. The last he remembers was the pained yelps of his Mightyena as he delved out of consciousness…
This brings us to where we are… No sounds, no sight: just the smell of his own sweat and the metallic taste of the blood in his mouth. With what little energy he could muster, Chaz swivels his head around, hoping to hear anything, fear setting in for both him and his Pokémon.
“H-hello?! Is anyone there? Mightyena? If you can hear me, say something!”
Lucian did not appreciate being dragged away from his research. The work he was doing was going to benefit Team Rocket as well as his own curiosity after all. Proton and Archer were supposed to handle interrogating hostages and yet they were off gallivanting and he was left to deal with whatever spoiled brat those fools had kidnapped this time.
Walking towards the basement with a paper bag in his hand, the Rocket Executive began planning how to deal with the hostage. He had his methods of making sure people gave Team Rocket what they wanted. Upon entering the basement, he saw the boy, bruised and bloodied, whimpering in the corner. Lucian sighed. Those fools were nothing but thugs. Using a big of intelligence sometimes wouldn't hurt those Pidgey brains.
He immediately took off the blindfold that had kept the hostage in the dark all this time and was met with a look of horror. The boy was terrified. He began babbling which Lucian quickly silenced by putting a finger to his lips. The red-headed Rocket reached into the bag, seeing how the terror in the boy's eyes grew and he began trying to move to escape, but his body wouldn't let him. Much to the boy's surprise however, Lucian pulled out a cookie.
"Chocolate chip?" he asked handing the boy a cookie.
So tell us how you really feel about Allison~ my dear Lucian.
"Allison?" The Rocket Executive looked at the grey face for a moment, confused. After a couple of minutes, the metaphorical penny dropped. "Oh you mean Alice?" Lucian said as a smile spread across his face.
"She's my favourite of the Executives. She visits me often. Keeps me company and makes sure I don't work too hard. She's great."
Did you get into trouble as a child? What was the worst thing you did?
Lucian thought back to the days he went travelling with his parents on their research trips and especially that fateful day when the cave collapsed, leaving him and Phantom to fend for themselves. He remembered living a life of stealing just to survive, a lot of the time not even having a roof for him or Phantom. He remembered when he first met Team Rocket. His sad, nostalgic expression began to change into a goofy smile.
"Me? Get into trouble? I was always a good boy, dear anon."
Not Such A Secret Spot || Lucian & Melody
She couldn’t help blink at him. Some sort of alarm visibly rang through Ghaliya’s head as she gave the man a dirty look and gave her trainer a nudge, but Melody only responded with a pat along the neck.
"Honey, I appreciate your offer, but that’s not something I can blurt out an immediate and definite answer to," Melody replied carefully. "I don’t know about you, but you sound like the sort of person that doesn’t have any other attachments to worry about. Of course, I’m not saying that’s a bad thing," she added quickly, "and it probably does give you a lot more time to focus on research. But I’ve got other elements to take into consideration, and the most important one is my daughter. Had you asked five years ago, I-” And then she stopped. Had she been asked years ago, she would’ve been less worried about Jenny and more worried about her husband’s condition. It was probably more accurate to think ‘had you asked before Emin died’, but that wasn’t the sort of question she was going to correct out loud.
She took a deep breath to collect herself again, ignoring Ghaliya’s renewed attempt at nudging her. “What I’m saying is that I can’t leave Violet, and unless that lab of yours is somewhere near there, I’ll be sticking to my current job. That, and…well, long story short, my life’s been centered around the Ruins of Alph for as long as I can remember, to be honest,” she admitted sheepishly. “I owe the Unown a lot. I’m not sure I could abandon them even if your lab did turn out to be nearby.”
He thought he would have had her with that. No matter. He almost had all the information he needed to further his research. "It's not that I don't have other attachments. Believe me, Melody, I have plenty of obligations. My research doesn't fund itself you know. But I have my priorities. The thirst for knowledge makes me find a way to balance my life." He wasn't going to tell her that he was an Executive for Team Rocket. She might change her mind in the future and her extensive knowledge could come in handy.
The Rocket Executive composed himself and offered a friendly smile. "But not to worry. Family is important. Sometimes I wish my parents were as concerned about my welfare as you are for your daughter. She's a very lucky girl. As for the Unown, I can respect that. You have your loyalties that you have to stick to." Lucian wasn't lying. He did respect her for keeping her loyalties to the Unown. Was that going to stop him getting what he wanted? Not by a long shot.
"However, if you change your mind, feel free to give me a call" he continued, handing the researcher a card with his name and number on it. Lucian had made sure he had gotten business cards separate from Team Rocket so he could conduct his research away from the organisation. "Now I shall bid you farewell, Melody. I have much to do" he said with a glint in his eye and his trademark polite smile. Packing up his research and the tablet, he turned on his heels and began walking back towards Saffron. He had much to do indeed.

Not Such A Secret Spot || Lucian & Melody
She took a step back as she stared at the tablet. Oh, she certainly recognised it.
"You took it?” She wished she could sound a little less shocked. Taking things to study them was almost a natural instinct to researchers, wasn’t it? She’d considered it too when she first saw it, but the vibes that it gave off made it feel like it was too important to be taken from its place on a whim. “I don’t know if I should be surprised or not that the Unown didn’t cart you off to an alternate dimension or something for that.”
She pursed her lips, propping up one arm as she absently played with her earring. Being legally bound to keep their research results a secret- at least until the lab decided to publish an official article- was turning into a bigger hassle than she’d ever thought it would. That, and she’d ended up growing a lot more protective of her personal research after last year’s incident. Looking at the tablet, she couldn’t help but wonder how the Unown would react to it suddenly showing up in the Ruins of Alph- surely if it’d been sitting in the Solaceon Ruins long enough it meant something to them, didn’t it?
She let her arms drop with a long, dejected sigh. Oh, how she regretted that they weren’t part of the same research team…
Lucian was beginning to grow tired of her indecisiveness. She was obviously part of that pesky team of archaeologists from the Ruins of Alph who were about as helpful to other researchers as an Everstone was to a Blastoise. He wasn't going to get anywhere with Melody. Secretive, pretentious bunch of Johto natives. He just wished things could have gone differently. Fortunately this conversation hadn't been a complete waste of the Rocket Executive's time.
He now had confirmation of Sinjoh's existence and had a clear cut direction for his research. It wasn't the answer to all his questions by any means, but it was a start. On top of that, he had the satisfaction of seeing her reaction to him taking the tablet. Bet you self-serving narcissists didn't think of that now, did you? he thought to himself. They'd probably been too scared to take it for fear of the Unown attacking them. What a bunch of spineless cowards. It was no wonder they were so stingy with their research. It had probably taken them years to do what Lucian had accomplished in a matter of months.
He let out a deep sigh and half-smiled at the archeologist. "Melody, I'll be honest with you. I'm going to solve this puzzle with or without your help. I'm being polite because you've shown me a great deal more respect than your egotistical colleagues from the Ruins. I proposed that we work together on this project but they turned their nose up at me as if I was a child. I have been a Pokémon researcher all my life and I'm one of the best. Now you have one of two choices. You can either keep banging your head off that wall in between you and the answers you're searching for, or you can work with me and we can solve this together. You won't get another offer like this. I have resources, a fully equipped lab and above all, my passion for discovering the answers to mysteries. What do you say?"
Forget Me Not || Alice & Lucian (EVENT)
How was one to even ask a co worker to go with them to a festival that they really had no idea what it was about. A summer festival it was supposed t be fun, kinda romantic and she’d always admired the other from afar after all. Walking back to the research lab she sighed trying to think of a way to get him to go with her. "L-Lucian, Would you a-accompany me to the summer festival?"
Lucian was mid research when Alice arrived at the lab. The lack of people willing to help him unlock the mystery of the Ruins of Alph was disturbing. The natives of Azalea Town were about as useful as a Poffin fire guard and the researchers at the Ruins were tiresome fools who had their heads so far up their own behinds the Rocket Executive was surprised they could even form coherent sentences. They were nothing but idiots. Lucian was the best researcher in Kanto and those simpletons knew it. He couldn't understand why they couldn't just work together for this project.
Seeing the blue-haired Executive brightened Lucian's mood significantly, making him smile as she entered the lab. "Alice, my dear. How are you?" She looked incredible as always. If he wasn't always so busy with his research, he'd certainly ask her--
"L-Lucian, Would you a-accompany me to the summer festival?"
Well this was an interesting development. The Summer Festival was a marvellous occasion that went on for weeks, with music, amusement parks and parades all coming to the streets. Every town and city had their own festivities and Saffron's were monumental. But due to Lucian being so busy with his research he hadn't gotten a chance to check it out. Now the one girl who could make the Rocket Executive's head turn away from his research was asking him to go with her.
Like a date? Lucian thought, but instead just smiled at her and said something quite different. "Lead on, Alice" he responded, taking her hand.
Honour Amongst Thieves || Lucian & Giovanni
Giovanni did not have time for fearful grunts asking questions to ensure their safety. He turned on the one who had spoken, ready to put him in his place, when Lucian spoke up again, quickly describing his idea before Giovanni could object. When he finished, Giovanni couldn’t help but be somewhat surprised, even if he didn’t show it. That was… unexpected. “Yes, fine,” he said, giving the plan his approval, “But all we need is time. Don’t do anything stupid.” If Lucian wanted to hang back while Giovanni and the rest of the grunts made their getaway, he wasn’t going to try and stop him.
Giovanni wouldn’t have ordered any of them to do such a thing, but he wouldn’t say no to someone who was loyal enough to volunteer, either. It was an impressive gesture; there were many people in Team Rocket vying for his attention, but Giovanni wouldn’t fool himself into thinking they would all put themselves at such risk. In any case, arrest was not the worst possible scenario. As long as Lucian didn’t kill or seriously injure anyone, Giovanni would be able to get him a good lawyer and either avoid jail time altogether, or land him with a reduced sentence. Breaking anyone out of prison was costly and carried a greater risk than payoff—anything more severe than resisting arrest and simple assault on an officer would be a mistake on Lucian’s part.
The getaway car arrived shortly after the plan was decided, just over two and a half minutes after Giovanni had placed the call. Not perfect, but not bad either. Lucian looked remarkably composed for someone who was about the be engaging in such a risky endeavor. The other three grunts loaded themselves into the car, the tallest of the group clapping a hand on Lucian’s shoulder and wishing him a short ‘good luck, man’ before closing the door behind him. Giovanni climbed into the passenger side without a word, and signaled for the driver to get them out of there.
As the car drove off, Giovanni watched out of the side mirror as Lucian sent out his ferocious looking Hydreigon. He wondered how long the grunt would be able to hold the police off before they managed to subdue him. Maybe a news helicopter would show up and Giovanni would get to see how everything played out once they arrived at HQ. It was a much more appealing concept now that Giovanni knew he would not be part of the spectacle. Lucian had saved him a good deal of anger and trouble, a fact that would not go unnoticed in the future, whatever events it should hold.
Lucian relished moments like this. As much as he enjoyed a group heist, it was the schemes that just involved him and Phantom that made things interesting. Now here they were, trainer and Pokémon, about to take on an array of police officers, some of whom were staying inside their vehicles. Cowards. Lucian would just have to do something about that.
"Phantom, turn up the heat on those officers hiding in their cars. Fire Blast!" The Hydreigon growled deeply and let out a mighty inferno on the police cars, forcing all the officers to frantically get out of their vehicles. The Rocket Grunt smirked. Lucian knew there was no way he was going to escape this but that was never the objective. He was buying time for Giovanni to get away. But he wasn't going to kill anyone doing it. That would just be foolish. It was time to make sure these officers wouldn't be going anywhere for quite a while.
"Phantom, let's make sure these fine officers will keep us company for quite a while. Draco Meteor!" What happened next was terrifyingly beautiful and brilliant. A great rumble was heard from the skies as the Hydreigon called down an array of meteor rocks surrounded by a royal blue aura and destroyed the police cars. The officers were running as far from the vehicles as they could, and towards Lucian. His task was complete. "Phantom, return" he commanded, returning his Pokémon to its Pokéball.
* * *
The next few months of Lucian Mordred's life were spent in prison. After hearing what he did at Simon Rainier's mansion, the other prisoners treated him as a hero. They actually came to Lucian to learn more about Pokémon and life at Team Rocket. Until one day, a familiar man in a black suit and fedora came to visit the Rocket Grunt who had sacrificed his freedom for him. "Hello boss" Lucian greeted, smiling politely at the Team Rocket leader.
