I've been slowly working on learning Dutch over the past few months, since it's my girlfriend's native language, and I honestly expect that it looks strange when I'm practicing it. One friend went "you should greet your girlfriend 'neuken in de keuken'", which translates to "fucking in the kitchen".. there's definitely some entertainment in watching an american try to speak something that isn't English. I do, however, know how to say one important thing already. Ik hou van je, which translates to "I love you".
