A tribute to one of my favourite movies! đȘŽđ©ž (Pattern by RobynsNestBoutiqueCA on Etsy) by amyjandrews
Itâs been a while but Iâm back at it! Just finished this Voltorb piece for my fiancĂ© and I LOVE IT. I patterned this out myself from various references and it looks so much cooler than I anticipated. Iâm already planning to make an Electrode piece in the same style for Christmas and I may start on a whole series if I feel confident enough after that. Glad to be stitching again. Hope everyone is well! đ

The Confidence of a Bumblebee stitched and designed by Naive-Amoeba-33.
âThe confidence of a bumblebee? There is a myth that bumblebees shouldnât be able to fly with their large bodies and tiny wings⊠but they just clap their wings differently compared to birds and create kind of mini-hurricanes under their wings.Â
Source patterns: bumblebee by DMC (I didnât do the full backstitch though), flowers and leaves from this DMC pattern with some modifications, letters from 2 books: Cross Stitch Calligraphy by Iva Polansky and The Encyclopedia Of Cross-stitch Techniques by Betty Barnden.â
Text reads: Some say bumblebee shouldnât be able to fly, luckily it doesnât give a flying fuck.
The hair barrette âFloral pattern melangeâ made with hand micro cross stitch embroidery. For making barrette I used linen fabric, melange threads of DMC from brown to yellow color, french clip. The barrette is perfect for vintage hairstylesâ„

Hi! I've been looking through your projects (VERY cool and inspirational, hope I can be that good at cross stitch someday!) I noticed some are on regular fabric that isn't aida. I've never seen that before! Do you have any tips on how to do that?
Thanks so much! All I do is use two layers of fabric, aida and whatever patterned fabric on top of it. It makes it a little thicker but not too noticeably for a simple hoop project and it makes the lines so clean. You could also try to count threads on your single working fabric and make each stitch a certain amount depending on what size you want but I havenât tried that myself yet as it is tricky. Not only is it tedious to keep counting threads the whole time but fabric will be prone to stretch and make your stitches sit differently if it isnât perfectly situated in its hoop. But itâs always fun to experiment and challenge yourself if you are up for it! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask. Iâll always answer as best I can. Happy stitching!

Also not cross stitch, but again I couldnât not post it. Iâve been getting into crochet lately and made a berry picking basket out of recycled plastic bags for my fiancĂ© to use. Also happens to be perfect for displaying our gorgeous berry yield. (We already have gallon freezer bags 1 1/2 full.)
Almost done with the first name and added those whiskers I forgot. Itâs not perfect but for my first time Iâm happy with it. I can tell now that itâs going to take forever to finish the whole project but I canât think of anything more worthy than memorializing our little man đŸ â„ïž
