HE remains silent, staring at the strange drawing that this stranger has showed him. What it appeared to depict - a man-spider of some sort - confused and vexed Lon’qu greatly, as it made no sense for such a creature to exist. Why was he so garishly red, for one? If he primarily uses his webbing to swing everywhere, how can he move swiftly without being detected in such a gaudy hue? It made little practical sense to him.

❝ HMPH. I don’t know who or what this is, nor do I particularly care to find that out. Why are you so interested in this... man-spider, anyways? ❞

THOUGH some may have found it amusing to see something of that sort, Lon’qu found it concerning to see someone willingly hurting themselves. At least, that was what he assumed was the case - perhaps she simply didn’t feel the pain.

❝ TCH... Fools. Leave now, before I decide to turn you in to the authorities of the area. ❞

THE thugs scatter quickly, their ill-gotten gains strewn along the ground in the alley he’d managed to corner them in. Under most circumstances, he would simply leave everything where it laid, letting others walk by and claim things for themselves - he did his part in resolving the matter. Of course, this would have been a similar matter, but he found his way barred by a rather imposing woman with an eyepatch. How long she had been there was unclear, but Lon’qu instinctively leapt back in defense.

❝ GUH...! How long have you been lurking there, woman?! ❞

❝ YOU. I see that sword in your hands... train with me. Now. ❞

IMPATIENCE etched upon his face, Lon’qu quickly drew his sword to perhaps persuade the other male into combat. He’d already wasted enough time here on silly things, and he felt it pertinent to get to some important business. However, he could only train so much on inanimate objects - he had to have a real sparring match, and learn new styles while he was trapped in the city. There wasn’t much else to do, besides.

THE pair of hands ghosting up his side bring a tremble to the normally composed myrmidon. It can’t be helped, all things considered; he’s certainly not used to such a sensation in any circumstance, especially one such as this. To think, he’d just been minding his own business earlier when the tear formed in his leggings, and the young man had spotted him from well away. He said he could help Lon’qu in repairs, but the myrmidon insisted otherwise, opting to simply cover it up.

Of course, then the other leg got a rip in it. That left him with no leverage to dissuade the youth from fixing his pants. 

❝ H-HURRY up...! The night air is... a little too drafty for someone with rips in their pant legs. ❞

Thankfully, he at least still had his pants on - though the constant threat of being poked with a sewing needle irked him so.

HE knows well who the lithe figure he spots out of the corner of his eye belongs to, and he sets the newspaper he held in his hands down accordingly. Though he certainly has reason to be disdainful of her - gender aside, she was the one who cast doubt upon his ability by besting him rather soundly in battle - Lon’qu finds it ill-fitting to dislike or even distrust the princess of the halidom. After all, they were comrades in the past, and since she does technically outrank him as royalty, he would simply be disdainful of someone who already has the weight of the world upon them as is. 

Besides, he respected her strength both as a warrior and as a person. Not many could withstand what Lucina had and come out as impressively as she. He couldn’t do so, at any rate. 

❝ YOU seem well, Princess. Or, should I perhaps refer to you as Exalt at this point? ❞ He’s well aware that Chrom still lives, but perhaps he doesn’t in her eyes. From what he knew of this city from the introduction the so-called ‘scientists’ gave, it certainly confused him.

THE groans he’d heard from the men he’d passed by were ones Lon’qu swore he’d heard before - not in exact tone and voice, but rather in context. Though his hearing wasn’t quite sharp enough to pick up the entirety of their hushed conversation, he’d caught enough of it to know the general topic. Apparently, a holy woman making her home around these parts was no woman at all - and these poor souls, attempting to seek out a quick courting, had foolishly chosen him as their target. Lon’qu cared little for the remainder - he had already made haste to the church he’d passed by a few minutes earlier.

Sure enough, there he was, in the same damn pose he always did while praying. At least there was something familiar about this land, though the hidden meaning of this particular revelation still brought discomfort to Lon’qu.

❝ YOUR words will not reach Naga here, I’m afraid. ❞ He doesn’t even need to inquire as to which deity the holy man prays to; the moment he turns at the sound of Lon’qu’s voice, he knows he hasn’t erred in his assumptions.  ❝ AND no, before you try to ask, I am not simply some spirit sent by Her to grant you some small comfort. ❞ A pause, then the faintest ghost of a smirk on his face.  ❝ I am, however, glad to see a comrade well... Libra. ❞

IN one sense, Lon’qu had already had his fill of the city he found himself in. The architecture was strange and bizarre even to his world-weary eyes, and the constant chatter that pestered his hearing began to aggravate him. He needed to find some place of solace, and quickly, lest he lose what little patience he still had left at present. Eventually, he found it - a small bar tucked into an alleyway, with barely anybody - save people who had most likely slept here overnight in a drunken stupor - seated. 

It was a rather perfect scenario, as Lon’qu slid onto one of the shockingly comfortable seats near the bar. With a simple request, the elderly bartender slid him a coffee - it seemed that the bar doubled as a cafe during the day. He heard the phrase ‘coffee bar’ used at least once, though he cared little for that chatter - nor did he pay much mind to the sudden opening of the door behind him, followed by the clacking of heels against the floor. 

❝ HRMPH. ❞ A grunt slips from his lips in between sips of coffee, as he places a small chunk of currency on the bar. He supposed that he could at least do one good deed today, and pay for the drink that the sudden second patron would no doubt order.

WELL, she certainly didn’t look healthy. 

Admittedly, for all he knew, she could have been from some far-flung land where such an appearance was considered normal. That did little to change Lon’qu’s initial assessment, however; something about this woman seemed... amiss. In a way, he got the sensation that things were amiss in a way that reminded him much of himself, prior to joining the Shepherds. However, something else struck him as odd; in a way, he felt slightly less uncomfortable in her presence as he did in those of other women; the reasons why remained unclear, but he knew it had to be explained somehow. 

It didn’t seem healthy from his viewpoint to do anything else. Perhaps some questions would help alleviate his concerns of both parties involved.

❝ URGH... y-you there, I need to... have a word with you. ❞

Discomfort still plagued his words with the opposite sex, it seemed, but he would find the strength to brave it this once. He needed to know what this vexatious feeling was that he had about her.

SUCH an unfamiliar area tended to breed suspicion around every corner, especially to a warrior as wary of the world as Lon’qu. Rumblings foreign to his ear split the air around him, as strange metallic things raced down the path beside him at a breakneck pace, far outpacing any horse or pegasi he had ever encountered. Strange objects dotted the path he tread upon, with some shining down with a light previously thought unreachable. Truly, he was very far from the Regna Ferox he knew well; he also knew that he was far from anywhere he has ever known of - which begged the question, where? 

Any thoughts of determining his answer were swiftly cut off by the sound of something whipping through the air with a fierce velocity, grazing his cheek as the object in question - a wooden... something - embeds itself into a nearby wall. After grasping the object with one hand, the other touches the spot on his face where he’d been struck - despite there not being any sort of metal to the weapon, the velocity and placement of the blow still caused a significant cut, complete with bleeding. Turning to face where he estimated the object flew at him from, hand hovering over his wooden training sword, Lon’qu visibly tensed - after all, this was a woman he was dealing with.

❝ TCH... ❞ 

A scoff escapes from his lips, a personal cue to not simply dismiss the woman as some meaningless threat - he had seen far stronger men than himself brought down by sheer hubris, personal or otherwise. ❝ WHO are you, wretched woman? Have you some sort of hidden quarrel with me? ❞
