Fang of Critias

  One of the three Legendary knights of Atlantis. My name is Critias and besides protecting Atlantis, i'm also tasked with keeping the other two in line....Or so the council of Elders in the spirit world would say. My truemate is Timaeus. He is my everything and i shall protect and love him as such.

kasib has been really interested lately in my origins. Not how I am connected with her, but my character’s origins I suppose.

She is thinking that I, along with Hermos and Critias, were born from some “higher being” a long, long time ago. I think… it would make sense, considering Hermos, Critias, and I are protectors of the Spirit World, and Ironheart summoned us mentioning that we were from their “previous era.”

I am not too sure what he meant by that, but kasib and I do know that means we are not truly Atlantean.

kasib read this fanfiction a while ago about how the Three of us essentially created the universe and such. I think it was based a lot of Plato’s dialogues, but I think… maybe there is some truth to it.

If that is so, I wonder if we are completely immortal.

It is a little lonely to think about.

"It is a noble goal. A goal that all knights should have," Critias assured with a wide smile. “How about after lunch we have a spar? I am curious to see your skills so far. I know you have just started, but i sense much potential within you."

"Well, if you lend me a practice blade I can show you what I’ve learned so far," Kratos said. “But I’m just an apprentice."

"I will lend you a practice blade and will use one myself,ritias promised as they entered the castle. "Everyone has to start somewere. You will not be an apprentice forever.

Critias hummed with a smile. “You are very much like me then. My father wanted me to become an advisor to the king like he is. I found a passion in sword work instead of laws and gained the permission of the king to train to be a knight so my father could not forbid me. The rest is history and the new king’s best friend is also one of his elite knights."

"I want to help people," Kratos said seriously, suddenly very quiet. “I want to save people’s lives. I want to be someone that others can look up to someday, someone who makes a difference in this wicked world."

He took a deep breath and sighed. “I didn’t realize it until Father shipped me to military school. I didn’t want to go at first, but now I am glad … I’ve never felt this way before. Like I have a goal. It’s nice."

"Oh! I want to! I’ve only been at the academy for a month but my instructors called me a prodigy with the sword!" he smiled broadly before his expression fell.

"Ah, but my father won’t allow me to become a Knight. It’s not very honorable, he says. Men are simply lap dogs to the royals, little more than armed court jesters. I don’t really believe that, but … "

He shrugged.

"I am Sir Critias, high knight of Atlantis and the Knight of Wisdom," Critias replied, bowing to Kratos with a smile. “It seems to me that you were found by the best person to find your way for you. I will help you become unlost but first, are you hungry?"

Kratos had never heard him, but if he were a Knight he had to be a good person! Knights were noble people who did good things, and he wanted to be one some day … Though Father wasn’t fond of the idea. 

"I … I must admit that I am a bit hungry," Kratos shuffled his feet and stood at attention a bit. “I haven’t eaten since before my drills this morning."

Smiling, Critias stood and offered his hand to Kratos. "Drills? Are you training to become a knight?" he asked cuiously as they walked at leisurely stroll, Critias steering them towards the city center where the citadel stood proudly.
